  1. I'm planning to try the filter band before I bet the piss out of it. Need to wait until new aluminum one shows up so I can do it all the same time.
  2. Lost my transmission with 30000 kms on it. Check engine light came on while driving at highway speeds. Heard bearing type noise at back of engine area where trans meets. Oil pump failure. They decided to put new trans instead of repair. Had wait 5 weeks for dealer to get one due to shortage.
  3. Update. I ordered an aftermarket billet aluminum one. Horrible design to have plastic housing... especially in more colder Northern climates. When new one shows up I plan to get the plastic one off with a pipe wrench or other destructable tools!
  4. Went to change the fuel filter on my 2021 3.0L Duramax....... it is seized on. It is plastic and is supposed to be at only 20 ft/lbs. I could not budge it with a 36mm socket on 1/2" ratchet, johnson bar, Dewalt 20V drill or a 280 ft/lbs electric impact gun. Of course part of it is not stripped out because of all the effort / anger I had to apply. Don't want to bring into dealer as they will hose me for labour. Any ideas on how to get it off? I realize I may very well have to get a new one.
