I had the exact same issue. Decided the first time it "could" have been one of us bumping the switch when we stopped in parking lot, as when we got out it was down. We knew it was up when we left home because I could see out the cameras. The next time this happened, unfortunately, told a different story. We were pulling our camper to an event in September. As I was driving in the area to park the camper, making the last turn of 3 (without stopping), I heard a CRUNCH!! Yep, it came down on the last turn and hit the jack on camper. Not a pretty site. I have attempted to email & contact GM since it happened. I haven't gotten 1 single response.
Last week I FINALLY found out that the first week in November a bulletin was posted by GM stating an issue with switch that they are replacing. Have one on order at dealer now. Now I wait as the dealership is going to fight for my damage to be fixed as well. Such a disappointment as I'm on my 3rd new GMC Truck and can't get any sort of a response on this. Customer Service should be a priority, but sure doesn't seem to be with this from all I've read on the same issue. Hope you got yours fixed!!
