Is there a down side to doing this. The kit I am looking at is the Superior STL010

It is the 5.3 v8

I also forgot to mention I live in North Dakota where the winters are COLD!!! Would that have any effect on the trans with the thermostat bypassed.

Good Morning. I recently purchased a 2014 Silverado with a 6L80E transmition. It has a factory transmition cooler. I have been reading about bypassing the transmition thermostat to extend the life. My truck has 142,00 mile on it. It is a daily driver, and does little to no towing except for occasionly a light trailer. Would bypassing the thermostat really do anything to help exend the life of my transmition. Thanks

I had the same issue with my passenger side mirror not working on my 2014 Silverado. Turned out to be broken wired in the drivers door jamb inside the rubber boot. The door harness is not available new, so I repaired the wires. Everything works perfect. Once you take the door panel off and remove the speaker, you can disconnect the wires at the cab side of the jamb and pull them through the door. Gives you alot more room then trying to repair them in the jamb. I had 4 or 5 broken wires. The job isn't as bad as it sounds, just tedious. I soldered the wires and used heat shrink. Also check the other wires for insulation cracking. I would start with the drivers door becaude it get used more.

I would check the wire harness in the drivers door jamb for broken wires. My passenger side mirror wasn't working and the door lock button would lock the drivers door on my 2014 Silverado. found five btoken wires. A new harness was not available, so I dug out the soldering gun and heat shrink. All problems solved. The door does not have to come off. If you remove the door panel you can pull the rubber boot through the door and get lots of room to work.

I purchased AC Delco plugs for my 2008 Silverado. Within 6 monthes the truck started running terrible with multiple warning lights on the dash. Turned out to be failed spark plugs. Thats when I learned they were cheap knock offs. The plugs and the boxes looked ligit till you google and learn the very small differences in the plugs and boxes. I'll never buy plugs from Ebay again. It is a lot of work for only 6 monthes of use.
