Thanks, I got it, a new torsion bolt for the cam and I got a new VLOM as well. I didn't know those VLOMs were so hard to get I literally found only 1 and luckily it was my exact match from partsgeek. GMpartsgiant, rockauto, 1aauto and a few others were all sold out.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado LD (NOT LT) 5.3l L83 Okay guys, I have never had to replace DOD/AFM Lifters ever. Didn't even know this system existed until a few weeks back, that's how long it's been since I've had anything GM. I am working on this for my brother in law, and rather than go with the delete kit he wants to keep it all stock, even though everything I researched says it better to delete. but since he is still making dealership payments on said truck I can fully understand. So, I have already checked everything including the cam, even went as far as hand turning the crank to force oil through all the galleys and make sure there was no debris, shavings, etc...Luckily when the lifter failed it was in my driveway so I didn't expect there to be any damage. I soon as he started backing out it started tapping, so I just had him leave it here. Ok, so first thing I noticed, pulling the engine apart was that this lifter job had been done before. He's had it for a year or year and a half now. So it's lasted that long. Also noticed the replacement AFM/DOD lifter they used had a slightly thicker top spring. The failed one, I am assuming what is original, since the rest match it, fully collapsed and fully stuck, has a thinner spring. That's fine and all we just went ahead and ordered the whole AC Delco set. So here is where I am confused seeing as this job has been done before The AFM/DOD Lifters were in 4, 6, 1, 7 Is that right? Would that not throw off rotational balance a bit? Should it not be 4, 6, 3, 5? Anything info you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated since I only have today and tomorrow for sure to work on it. After that I will be stuck behind a week of rain.
