thank you to all who contributed in this thread (and other similar ones). the display in my new-to-me 2017 LTZ started going crazy last week. flipping through screens and behaving erratically. i was pretty bummed thinking it would cost hundreds to fix. luckily, a simple Google search led me here. i picked up a digitizer screen from Amazon which arrived the next day. the unit was easy to get out of the truck but the actual digitizer was stubborn about coming off the LCD unit. a heat gun, some persuasion and a little bit of patience got it off. for the record, it did not come off cleanly. the digitizer did crack and break. i carefully cleaned it up and installed the new digitizer. it came with the tape pre-installed. got it all back together and so far, it's been solid. no issues yet. i also bought a complete unit (LCD & Digitizer) as a backup, just in case. Digitizer was $27ish and the full unit was about $135 (?). now if it happens again, i'll swap the complete unit out and repair the one in there now with a new digitizer. you can get the unit out in about 10 minutes being careful. so, i'll drop another $27 for another digitizer and have a spare. i hope it's not needed but i'll have a backup plan that i can implement in about 15 minutes. otherwise, the truck is great. love the look and the way it drives. plan on keeping it for a while, so figuring out ways to avoid the dealership is key to saving money in the long run. kgb
