  1. Somehow I missed your reply (a long time ago). Running Shell 93, but get the occasional Sam's Club 91 when I don't have time to make it across the river to the Shell. I've never considered mixing in E85.. Do you fill the rest of the tank with premium or is 89 good when mixing E85? Air filter looked clean after purchasing the truck, so I have not changed it.. I took it out and combed through looking for debris. It looked like the dealership changed it, or it was recently changed prior to them getting it. I'll add it to the list though, I don't like not knowing how many miles are on it.. Oil filter - Purolator PL22500 with Mobil 1 0w-20 High Mileage. I'm 3,000 miles into this oil change, may consider getting it analyzed again at 4,000...
  2. Just another guy trying to calibrate the camera system... My rear camera looks down pretty far and makes the birdseye skewed as well.. I do have a little information to add, there is an article released by GM that supposedly helps with the rear camera facing downwards. If you actually get this to work let me know! 3. Thanks @Grumpy Bear. That iron ppm is exactly why I posted. I'll look deeper into which oil (0w40 or 5w30) and brand will be my next move. I don't know what HTHS is, but I'll go do my own research on that.. Who knows what oil the dealership would have used that was in it previously.. Interested to learn more about the analysis @Black02Silverado offers.
  4. Please share some insight into my recent oil analysis. Oil type is unknown, was last changed at the dealership before I purchased the truck. Over 79,000 miles on the motor, 4,200 miles on oil when sampled/changed. No current issues, oil burning minimal. Just wanted to get a baseline. 20 SIERRA 1500-250510-edit (1).pdf
  5. It is a problem for some, and not working as intended when that switch goes bad. The problem we experienced is that after shifting to park and turning the truck off, all of the interior electronics would stay on because the truck does not detect that you're in park. Sometimes you can jiggle the shift stalk and it would detect park, but if the switch failed bad enough it never realized that you are in park and the radio, instrument cluster and more would stay powered. Then the next morning your battery is dead. I got lucky and replaced it before it fully failed. However, some days I would sit in the truck for more than 1 minute trying to get it to detect park. What is dumb, two places on the instrument cluster it would say 'P' for park, because I was in park, but would still get the warning message 'Shift to Park' and none of the electronics would turn off. One of the Youtube videos stated models after 2022.5 were not affected.. Is this when they took away the shift column for a period of time? Either that or they made some other change/fix..
  6. Cheap and easy fix if you can solder! Under $9.00 including tax. Replace the microswitch that is causing this with the part listed below. The youtube video shows the removal and replacement, but not the soldering part. Omron Micro Limit Switch SS-5GL13 with Curved Tip Lever 5A 125VAC #E66AA
  7. Soldered in a new micro switch a few weeks back, issue resolved. Less than $9.00 on ebay. Truck shuts off every time now. Quick fix. Omron Micro Limit Switch SS-5GL13 with Curved Tip Lever 5A 125VAC #E66AA Tested the old switch and there was high resistance. Pressing the switch would take the circuit from open, to some level of closed, but the ohms would vary on each press until it finally got low enough the truck would consider the circuit closed and in park.
  8. My friends 2024 Yukon 6.2 with 12,000 miles went out 2 weeks ago. She wasn't even aware of the recall. It was making a terrible rattling. Called the dealership from the side of the road asking for a tow. Dealership asked is it drivable? Said technically yes, but it's not going to be pretty! As instructed she limped it to the dealership, who confirmed 2 days later that motor needs to be replaced. Dealership placed them in a brand new Acadia for a loaner, but this family has been buying trimmed out cars from this particular dealership every 2-3 years for a long time... So they likely get special treatment. Dealership says expect 2 months on waitlist.. Our 2021 Yukon 6.2L continues to run just fine, about to hit 70,000 miles. Recall says remedy not available, so we haven't gotten our pico test yet.. 2020 Sierra 6.2L (not under recall) at 80,000 and no issues (knock on wood with crossed fingers)..
  9. Mine as well, I just can't find a part # change to prove it.. The cutoff is right around COVID, but I can't imagine it lined up perfectly with a model year cutover..

  11. Were there changes from from 2020 to 2021 on the L87? Why aren't the 2019-2020 model years included in this recall?
  12. My 2020 Sierra with 75k on it is getting this same 'shift to park' message.. Luckily it has gone away after a few seconds each time but is getting more frequent.. Looks like I'll be modding the switch soon. I plan to clean with electrical contact cleaner and bend the arm on the switch to start. At the first sign that mod no longer works I'll swap to the bypass method.. Annoying the switch alone is not available...
