  1. Had my 2015 looked at last week for the valve chirp but since I’m 6 months out of the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty, they wouldn’t replace it no charge. It’s not covered under the 5 year power train warranty. I was quoted $800 for the new exhaust. Figured I’ll clamp it open or put the $800 towards a borla/Corsa exhaust.
  2. Keep us updated on how these hold up. I usually use raybestos advanced technology but the RPT are half the price. You’d think the coated ones would be more expensive.
  3. They’re basically a toggle bolt design where as you tighten it, the 2ears flatten out against the inside of the bed panel
  4. Pretty sure gm Is actually right here. That screen is meant to show mileage to empty not act as an actual fuel gauge. I don’t recall the level changing on mine either but I have a 2015
  5. Unfortunately, it will take people dying like with the ignition switch issue to escalate the concerns.
  6. here is how I did mine: 1. Get you some bicycle inner tube or rubber sheet (HD sells in plumbing dept) 2. Raise truck from frame on driver side just in front of rear wheel. 3. Use jack stand for safety 4. Use large flat blade screwdriver or pry bar to separate leaves at front of spring 5. Insert rubber piece then remove pry tool. keep your digits out of harm's way 6. Repeat 4 & 5 at rear of spring 7. Repeat 2-6 on passenger side Just did this this morning and when I shake the bed side to side the only noise I hear now is a little axle play; spring clunk is gone. We'll see how long it lasts. Fluid film was getting me about a month before the noise returned.
  7. This was a common issue on the 99-02's and there was a recall for it. I can't remember the exact cause but I believe it was corrosion on the wheel speed sensors.
  8. not unless someone dies or there are a good number of property damage incidents
  9. can someone explain what the vacuum pump failure has to do with oil pump failure. Does the vacuum pump drive the oil pump?
  10. Let's just say I'm skeptical of their durability.
  11. figured I'd be the guinea pig and bought them. Unbelievable -- they are all plastic except for the metal brackets that run from the step to the body. I think the older versions were powder coated steel.
  12. Does anyone have these newish GM steps? Photos? Quality?https://gmaccessories.chromedata.com/RichContent/GM/14_CHE_SIL_MAS_02.JPG
  13. could you smell it outside the truck or only through the HVAC system?
  14. not sure. mine only does it when the AC is off but vent fan is on, blowing in hot outside air. I don't know what it is but it's been doing it for since new when it's hot out. I have 12000 miles on mine. Maybe whoever assembled the blower motor over-lubed it.
  15. is it only when you have the upper vents blowing air (AC not on)? Mine smells like hot motor oil but I don't have any oil level issues and it's only when the upper vents are on.
