  1. Pull the wheel liners and taillights to hose everything down each spring. while you’re at it you can pull the plugs out of the wheel well and douche it down with fluid film or similar. Do the same to the rockers too.
  2. To the O.P., discount tire is good at matching competitors advertised prices.
  3. Good to know....I get 10 cents off per gallon when using my Meijer credit card.
  4. Agreed. Let’s see the ws6
  5. Stick your ear by the valve behind the muffler while you remote start. Mine makes a quick chirp and traced it to the valve.
  6. If you pull one of the existing ones out and look at the back, it should list the mfr model number. They are made by https://www.caplugs.com/plugs i think it’s their BP series in 13/16. I only needed one so I requested a sample on their website. If you need more, looks like minimum order qty is 200 for $40
  7. It works; no need to modify anything
  8. I have a 2015 and the cap fits on the tube.
  9. Got my hands on a 2019+ fill tube. Based on the fitting, looks like it will be damn near vertical after installation; maybe tilted just a hair forward. Will update photos after install
  10. Yes, it’s the orange rubber sheet between the leaves. The leaves are tight enough that it won’t come out.
  11. There’s got to be a way to “hack” this for infinite use.
  12. I think it’s normal for pads to lightly drag on the rotors.
  13. They’ll do the reprogramming since that is a recall. If the vacuum pump is shot, you wouldn’t be covered unless you can get a goodwill repair. Personally, I think the reprogramming is a temp fix to get people in excess of the extended warranty timeframe — it looks like they’re doing something about it and it’s millions of dollars cheaper than replacing the pump.
  14. Maybe a little and it’s certainly wayyyyy cheaper for GM to try this than replacing pumps. Read the last paragraph of this article. Check out this article from USA TODAY: GM issues recall of 3.4 million pickup trucks, SUVs to fix brake problem https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2019/09/11/gm-recall-chevrolet-gmc-cadillac-suvs-recalled-brake-issues/2284370001/
  15. Vacuum pump only
  16. Then maybe it’s this one. I’m not buying a third one to check though
  17. Here is the one I have. The tabs on the valve cover are at 12 and 6 o’clock. When you align the slots on the tube with the tabs in the Valve cover then fully rotate it until it stops, the tube opening is either angled forward or backward. You can stop turning when the tube opening is vertical but it is not fully seated at that point.
  18. I wouldn’t recommend this. Once you put it in and twist it to lock it in place, it’s angled downward rendering it useless. And it’s a mother lover to remove once it’s locked into place. Maybe I’m an idiot but I don’t see a way to have this lock in vertical unless you can somehow rotate the locking tabs on the plastic valve cover piece that the tube locks into.
  19. So they aren’t going to do any preemptive fix. Just extending the warranty on the vacuum pump and paying for those who have already replaced it. I wonder if if they’ll cover other damages if pump failure results in an accident.
  20. This one fits only issue is it doesn’t sit straight up/down but will be angled to the front or back
  21. Is it just in the cab corner or all Along the rockers? The photos look like a cab corner which could be repaired for way less than $7000
  22. No help for the current predicament but if you replace rockers, remove all of those plugs in the rockers , hose it out, let it dry, spray the snot out of the inside with fluid film, replace plugs. The area around the rear wheels is probably next to go.
  23. If a recall comes, you’d be reimbursed if you have receipts, I think. my point was that in a recall, Gm is paying for it, so the cost to them would be whatever the pump costs them plus an hour or two of the warranty labor rate, not the normal $125/hr or whatever their going rate is for service work. I don’t know, maybe $150 per vehicle for their cost. Still a ton of money over millions of trucks. Good thing trucks are their highest profit margin vehicles.
  24. Once the lawyers get involved, a recall is more likely to be issued if there has been property damage and/or personal injury as a result of the failures. My guess is that if it does turn into a recall, it will be an “inspection” and replace only if conditions a, b and c are met. I doubt it would $600 per vehicle. GM probably buys those pumps for maybe $50 a pop and maybe 2 hours of warranty labor rate.
