    I was thinking about changing out the radio. I did lots of research. The PAC interface allows you to connect a PC to it and make changes to many of the factory settings like fold In mirrors, rear park assist etc. there's also a dash kit available. You can also keep your back up camera. A bonus to me would be to add Navigation. Alpine has a direct for x800u etc.. Then I noticed that the outside temperature is only displayed on the mylink screen. Losing that would bother me. Everything else with a new head unit would be a gain.

    It sounds like you got tired of waiting on them to fix it. I was crossing my fingers that you were onto something with them. The radio reception still bugs me daily. Dealer said works as it should. Feb 20, 2014 NO FIX for FM.

    Jonathan, What is the procedure you are recommending after we have gone our local dealer that is not offering any fix for the poor FM reception? Many of us are very frustrated. We are looking for a fix from GM and would like to follow the correct procedure to raise the awareness of this issue. Thank You, Ace

    Were they able to tweak the shift points and firmness?

    So with your response i think we covered all the options. So some trucks say it's ok and some don't. All radio options are having FM reception issues and we do not have a fix from GM yet.

    We should start stating which options we have with the particular problem. I have the non-Bose and non nav radio and the reception in fm or hd fm needs major improvement. Sound off if you a different set up with a fm reception problem.

    To answer your question, No. No fixes or solutions yet for radio reception, just work arounds like iheart radio, pandora, itune radio, etc.. These are all used with a smart phone connection. Your phone just streams the internet radio to your truck.

    I am guilty of not bringing my truck in to the dealer to have it looked at. I will have to do that so i am notified of a fix.

    I wonder if the reception is worse due to the new aluminum hood.

    This is totally a side note but I've often wondered why radio's don't come with the ability to tune in the NOAA weather channels.

    I'm about 40 miles from Chicago. I agree with what another member said that it's hit or miss but the reception overall is not good. I've read about boosters etc.. and it doesn't sound like a good idea. Changing the antenna is not a good idea either because it is the right length. I'd like to check the connections for the antenna to the radio etc.. but I don't want to tear apart my dash. Does anyone know why we have a radio ID for HD? Can you do anything to improve reception for it? I know about XM that you can refresh the signal etc.. but not HD.

    This won't work with the Auto-start but i noticed in the manual their is a fast idle option in the manual on page 9-28. I would think a faster idle would warm it up faster.

    I'll note too, that I called the phone number for the mylink and they said they can't do anything about reception. They can do a reset but that would not affect reception.

    I wanted to start a seperate topic for this. My fm reception is to the point where I don't use the radio. The HD switches in and out to where you have to turn it off as well. I'd be looking to replace the radio with an aftermarket head unit but the integration with the my link probably makes it impossible. Please post up if your having issues.

    Looking through the manual it states when remote starting the vehicle it remembers the previous settings. This may take some experimenting but what if you tried some different settings like activing the recirculation mode, manual mode opposed to auto, or possibly closing some of the vents in the dash with the thumb wheel. I learned something looking for this too. It states the rear redefroster will activate when its cold enough but the light does not come on during remote start. Hope this helps.
