  1. I know some trucks will refuse to start without transmission and require a neutral switch bypass, but the neutral switch is built into the 4L60e, so just curious if the ECU will start the engine without the transmission installed. Just replaced rear and front seals and cover gaskets and want to test for oil leaks before putting trans back on. Thanks!
  2. I'd like to remove the OnStar VCIM on my 08 GMC Sierra 1500 - not because I'm paranoid or anything, but because it's useless with the 2G cell card on it, it has no Bluetooth feature, and because I have installed a CarPlay receiver that does everything it did, plus more. I rather use the room under the center panel for a 4 channel mini-amp. However, when I disconnect the two wire connectors that go to it, my airbag light stays on. Looking at the service manual and electrical manual, I see the VCIM acts as a highspeed CAN pass-through. Has anyone removed their OnStar and just connected the HS-CAN wires from both connectors together to recreate the pass-through? If so, did it get rid of the airbag warning light on the dash? Thanks!
  3. Ahh, that makes sense! This is supposed to be from a Yukon SUV. I wonder why GM does that?
  4. Thanks, I'll try calling, as all the stuff I found on Google are on salvage reseller websites, and they contradict each other (some say it works on 08 GMC Sierra's; others say the part doesn't.)
  5. Thanks, but that's what I'm trying to say - the part doesn't exist on any GM part website, including GM Parts Direct. It has been superseded, so if I look up BCM part numbers today, it will show me the new ones, not all the old part numbers that once worked. I'm basically asking if a GM parts guy that has more access can look up the part number.
  6. Yes, I didn't want to program it yet before verifying because the ebay seller won't accept returns of BCMs once programmed.
  7. Hi all, I just bought a used BCM on eBay and the part that arrived is 20939138, which wasn't advertised on the listing. It's not coming up on any GM part website. Does anyone have access to look it up, and see what part number superseded it? Also, will it work for an 08 GMC Sierra 1500, once programmed? I'm trying to see if it will have full functionality, or if I should go through the hassle of returning it. Thanks!
