  1. with your further description, I'd be looking at all front end components. Control arm bushings can be deceiving. May look like fair condition but they're allowing play
  2. Without knowing how bad your banging is, one suggestion is the intermediate steering shaft on the steering wheel. These used to be a problem on 800 and earlier series. The feeling/sound was sometimes described as "clunking" and was felt in the wheel. Also there is a plastic piece in the lower column that is referred to as a bearing. Not your traditional looking bearing though. Your ball joints, bushings and tie rods or steering rack (if equipped) are the main point of issues. You never mention total unit miles, only that you've put 60k on it. You can search the site for help on the ISS description. Plenty of these have been replaced https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=site%3Agm-trucks.com+intermediate+steering+shaft&ia=web

  5. Only thing I see in short supply are filters, thanks to Fram's parent company going ****** up. Places they relied heavily on Fram stock, shelves are bare. I think places like Wally are working negotiating pricing on other replacement brands before they fill their shelves with anything. I'm set for a good while on all filters and oil supplies

  9. My primary walk mower is a 45 year old 2 cycle Lawn-Boy. Thing is still going strong. Self propelled. Think the deck is aluminum, maybe magnesium. Either way it weighs a ton less than the steel deck mowers. I did grab another gas 4 cycle last year just because it was a great deal. Kohler engine with spin on filter. The self propel on it is not as good as my Lawn Boy. I've switched to battery line trimmer, hedge trimmer, and edger. Got a couple of battery chainsaws that are the bomb. If had a smaller yard and one that didn't sometimes get out of hand, I'd look harder at battery mower, but I know it would work for my situation
