  1. HA!! That's great!! Nice find, lol!
  2. I got popped in AZ on Highway 17 just north of Phoenix for having the windows too dark on my '72 El Camino. With the sun out there, you needed all the tint you could layer up, lol. Trooper held a digital device against my window - said 5% light was getting through. Even out there I think he said the limit was 25 or 35% - I was surprised.
  3. Ear-blockage central right there.
  4. Wow .. up here they call SWAT on you for windows that dark. You think I'm kidding ... You'll be surrounded by state troopers. I think it's been close to 3 weeks since my truck last ran. Haven't even started it. Too much has gone on this past week to care about it. I figure if I don't drive it, I can't break it.
  5. That was fast - already taken down. Money flows quickly at GM when they want it to, I guess ...
  6. It's all what you want - if you like it, that's all that matters, whether it was a wise investment or not. That's what I always tell myself, anyway. With all that's been done to it, I think you did pretty good. Motor and trans are always good to "personalize" anyway.
  7. Holy crapper! At least it happened there, and not out on America's highways. Geeze Louise! Batting a thousand at today's GM ...
  8. Yeah I'd have to say that's a rear main, as long as it's not running down the side of the block from either the valve cover or head gasket - that happens too, and can look like a rear main leak.
  9. What a ride! That 690 RWHP Camaro ride was like being at an amusement park, lol! I felt G-forces I never thought possible on the street. Absolutely insane. The supercharger is impressive, no doubt, but what was really impressive was the tires! I can't believe the abuse these took without totally breaking traction. We went through an offramp at 65 MPH! My brain was telling me we should have been in the woods - was a strange feeling, lol! You always feel like a rock star in that thing. Everyone staring, people giving thumbs-up and yelling, "Sweet car man!" constantly. What an experience! GM got that car right, that's for sure. It's a convertible, and there wasn't a single squeak or rattle in the interior, over these minefields we call roads up here in MA. Wow is all I could say, lol! http://vid297.photobucket.com/albums/mm215/jjs05polaris/Forum%20pics/0512161943_zps4uxajlfr.mp4
  10. Today's GM!
  11. Going to go for a ride tonight in the 700 RWHP monster Camaro.
  12. Yeah ain't that a fabulous design? Having it easily accessible was way to easy! GM had to modernize it ... For years I used a K&N HP-1017, because it has a 1" hex on the bottom. Eventually I broke down and bought a oil filter socket set, since I kept running into this problem on all the newer stuff.
  13. Wow, got a little hot there, aye? Chernobyl socket ...
  14. Nice - all the difficult and expensive stuff seems to be done already, aside from the rear main. Our '86 Grand Marquis has been leaking there for the past 13 years of ownership. We just buy oil by the 5 gallon pail.
  15. Yep - welcome to MA! Land of 10,000 laws, and even more taxes ...
  16. Yeah, all numbers at the wheels. Just driving it home, he said the thing is absolutely insane, LOL! Plants you back in the seat in 6th gear at 2k RPM.
  17. ^^^ Can't believe I didn't even see that when I first looked. Got some ramp action happening there ...
  18. Lots of weight for gravity to pull on there. Love that flatbed - real nice!
  19. My buddy got his supercharger on his '10 Camaro SS. Some pretty impressive before & after numbers here! He's picking it up today. Too bad the weather royally sucks up here. Doubt he'll be going anywhere with it except straight home.
  20. Exact same as mine - we must've bought them at the same time. I wrote the date on the back with a Sharpie - 7/12/03. Hauled them here in my '72 El Camino. We don't have the stand though - that's something I should have got. Our floors are uneven in the house, so the washer goes walking all over the place after a spin cycle. Been dealing with it forever, so guess I'm used to it now. Thing sounds like a jet taking off when it spins, lol - think it hits 1,300 RPM if I remember right.
  21. Nice. Thing has been good to me over the past 13 years. Only had to fix the gray boot in the door that leaked water for years (got torn somehow), and I had a piece of foam fall down inside the unit, and trip the out-of-balance switches prematurely, so it would never get through a spin cycle. Came back one day to find the thing still running 5 hours after I started the load. Thing has trouble codes like a modern car, lol, only 100x more simple. Also have the matching dryer - all that I had to do to that so far was grease the rollers for the drum to stop the annoying, rhythmic squawk it used to make, lol. Lint trap sucks - it blows lint balls all over the lawn ...
  22. That thing is mint! Only light I have is a Coors Light ... neon light in my laundry room.
  23. Yep - another victim of the "cheaper-is-better" mentality of the modern automaker. That thing was great - it used to reach all the way to the tailgate on my '94 K1500. Used it quite a few times, namely when my 3k mile u-joint change I did without a press came unglued at 22:00 on a rural road. Spit the driveshaft right out of the rear yoke. I used that light to yank the shaft, and drove home in 4wd using the front wheels, leaving a trail of ATF for miles, LOL!
  24. I can find my wheel sockets. Truck is 22mm, most cars are 19mm, and most SUVs and smaller trucks are 21mm. The rest of my tools I lose right in front of my face, lol There's a Chevy Suburban driving around with my short 1/4" drive extension and a 8mm socket trapped inside a pocket in the door that can only be reached from under the mirror by gravity. Tried retrieving it with my magnet - no chance in hell. It's a wormhole to another dimension ...
  25. Yeah, you have a point there - it would be the same with me. Gonna need 67 different colors of paint ...
