  1. My 3 trucks combined aren't worth anything here so no. I will be selling my 03 because it annoys me lol. Its clean, pretty low mile(115000 miles) so it will move quick if I price it around 6-7k. My buddy might buy it to replace his rotting away 01 Sierra half ton. Plus then he has a truck better suited to pull his car trailer. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  2. Bought a brand new truck today. Nope, not built by GM. Ain't nobody got time for that. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  3. Fourth water pump on my 05 in about a years time. Enough is enough. Different brand this time. This one went about 9000 miles before the bearings were junk and its rear cover leaked. Different problem every time so its not my truck. Put on new hoses I had kicking around as the old ones were showing their age. Sent from the Great White North
  4. 3 2014s with guys I work with and all 3 intermittently won't start. They are swapping the starter on the one. Other two are normal lol. 3 for 3 is a pretty good record lol. Sent from the Great White North
  5. Lol. Variance within a tenth or so either way. Quarter mile calculations are standard and corrected to sea level. Sent from the Great White North
  6. Whose butt hurt. You can have your opinion but look at some facts. The v is 556 HP BTW lol. Seat of the pants doesn't mean much when they pass through the traps at the same time. Sent from the Great White North
  7. Lol. Or how about the official quarter mile on the C7 being 12.2 is no faster than the CTS v.... Whooptee do....Point is stating a car is faster... and its not with less power is fine but maybe consider the weight while you are at it. Sent from the Great White North
  8. Lol.... hmmmm. That Vette weighs a good 1000 lbs less than either the v or the zl1. Make my car a thousand pounds less and its no contest. Sent from the Great White North
  9. Oh I'm not saying they didn't. But they didn't cause an issue the first day when the vehicle was brand new either. Especially based on the ambient temperature Sent from the Great White North
  10. No egr valves did not. However a thermally operated flapper valve to force exhaust from one side of the engine to the other through the exhaust crossover in the heads and intake did. That said it still allowed the engine to run and gave the exhaust a path to follow. If you live in a place where it never freezes they won't care about the old flapper in the pipe lol. Sent from the Great White North
  11. Lot less of an issue when it was designed to be closed on cold start to force exhaust through the crossover under the carb... and being right at the engine on the exhaust manifold even if it froze within a few seconds it would be free.... not the same deal when its halfway to the back of the truck and plugs the whole exhaust system off. Sent from the Great White North
  12. House cleaning and snow plowing. Getting all ready for tomorrow as that should be my Ford/Gm 6.2 max trailer head to head test drive lol. Sent from the Great White North
  13. What... moisture in exhaust..... really????? Hydrocarbon combustion creates H2O..... no..... never. That must be GM's standpoint anyway. Grandpas old tractor muffler flapper seemed like a great idea..... except grandpa had it to keep wildlife and water out of the muffler and manifold/ engine when it stood straight up in the air. Not to attempt to dampen sound during 1/2 cylinder time.... Its not the end of the world but for us cold climate types its something else to get rid of. Sent from the Great White North
  14. That retarded valve also freezing closed in cold places is reason enough to dump it. I mean there is no moisture in vehicle exhaust is there? Then when you shut the truck off that water would never freeze that valve from being able to open..... Having this happen on the '14's the guys at work are stuck with. Dealers solution...... make sure the valve is permanently open.
  15. Stablitrack..... My problem is the worlds relentless "need" for it... here' s an idea... learn how to drive.. Most people suck at driving anyway but if you make them learn on something that has it what happens when they don't.. And the fun part. Stabilitrack is awful on ice... why? It kills power to everything instantly and then it uses the brakes to try and straighten you out... Brakes don't work generally as they usually get you into the slide to begin with. Fine on a dry highway with available traction but on ice the wheel just locks and doesn't help. I proved that over and over in my old 09 and made it automatic that I would hold that button for 8 seconds ever time I started and drove it. But at least you could do that... These stupid new trucks now automatically kick it on above 30 mph and you can't shut it back off.... No thanks.. Wheel spin and speed are needed now and again... 4wd or not and that is an absolutely useless feature to have. I said on another forum that if it takes killing the abs on the truck to counter it for winter time driving... so be it. Good example was getting out of my yard with a trailer. I needed wheel spin and 4 wheel drive to get the trailer out... never would have did it with a 2014. Wow... thanks gm. Sent from the Great White North
  16. People laugh at me constantly at work because I drive an older truck... then on the internet because I own a few of them the automatic assumption is I can't afford a new one.... which is beyond laughable when the work truck makes $360 a day on its own. You just ignore it.... whether in real life or on here lol. If the new 6.2 actually performs I would maybe buy a new Silverado for work.... but not until they work out any bugs..... replace the 6L80E.... Put the 6.2 in the LT and SLE trim level with the max trailer package....allow a person to shutoff the traction control and stabilitrack at any speed......and that's about it. First three should be 2015... as hopefully adding the max trailer 6.2 to the LT and SLE trims like the older trucks happened in 2010 after initial release in 2009. Last one though is a deal killer unless something changes. Take your nanny garbage that does not work on a slippery cold icy road and shove it.... not tolerating that trash. Sent from the Great White North
  17. Scored more engines. 2 L76 aluminum block 6 liters and an old turd 454.... all new Goodwrench crate engines still in the crates. The big turd and one 6 liter are already sold lol. I might keep the other one as between what I made off my 5.3 sale and these other two its free anyways. Sent from the Great White North
  18. Trim 1 tab on each bulb and install. That's it. They are brighter than my old 100 watt 9005s and 80 watt 9006s. Very clean well distributed light and I don't get flashed on low. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  19. 2 diodes jumpering your pin 85 on your high beam relay to pin 85 on the lows and fogs. Any, im4001 through im4007 diode works. Some guys do it in the bcm but I like in the fuse center Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  20. Unloaded more junk. Put my blade on my quad to plow my yard. Sold an old canopy. Hopefully sold my 5.3 and power train for over double what I paid for it. Fixed the 03s leaky washer pump, put in my hir1 9011 and 9012s and did the 6 hi mod as well as new wiper blades Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  21. Kicking out the Grand Prix onto Kijiji and replacing its spot in the shop with my new toy. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  22. The mighty LQ9... I even got caught in the mystique of flat top pistons. I feel better though after seeing some guy on a buy sell here asking 3000 for a LQ9/65e with the Borg Warner t case with 150000 miles..... good luck lol. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  23. Both lol. The blower motor which has the 05 up LQ4 bottom end, 2 other LQ4's that are more or less complete and a 40000 mile complete 05 LQ9. The other 2 are just blocks without any rotating assemblies in case I wanted to build a stroker. One newer one with equal length head bolts and one older. The only one I paid too much for was the LQ9. The rest I get because I find them super super cheap. My good friend snagged his LQ9 complete down to all accessories, pcm and harness with 70000 miles for $1100. Buy at least its in a fun truck versus taking up space. 24. I'm moving right now slowly from my old place to the new.... I am going to bin a ton of stuff. That said I have way too engines. I have 5 homeless 6 liters and 3 brand new 4L80e's... some 243 heads, these tbss intakes(3 now) and whatever other LS junk I have. And thats just the LS truck junk lol. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
  25. Listen to this guy.... we need a little violin music going to set the ambience lol. I'm used to our border and its inconsistencies. It will make it in due time. Thanks though! Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
