  1. Probably about as good a this AFM junk does.... can't be any worse lol. It's not like turboed v6s are anything new... They should last forever for what they want for them... a Tundra which I always thought was an overpriced pos (I own one so I can say this) seems like a bargain compared to a Ford.. and at least with Toyota's out of date truck you know it won't blow up on you lol. 2. Wow..... it's all I can say. Cleaned up my 2015 Tundra which I am more fond of now but definitely was done with until I found out you can disable the traction control in them with the dash button to the level of a 1980's truck lol. Anyhow I test drove a 2016 F150 XLT double cab with the 2.7 Ecoboost and the little bugger impressed me...... honestly feels quicker than the Tundra..... not anywhere near my 6.2 Silverado but that's expected. Still a nice truck.... so I decided to see what Ford would do. Their offer on the Tundra was nothing I didn't expect but the new Fords...... yeah no. I can buy a 5.3 powered loaded LTZ double cab Silverado for what Ford wants for a nicely appointed cloth seat double cab XLT..... and that's no crazy options on the Ford either. I mean just a 302A double cab with the console, bedliner, trailer package and the 2.7 Eco with 3.73's..... that stickers for between the 54000 and 56000....... they are nuts! Yes I am in Canada of course here but my loaded 2015 double cab 6.2 Silverado was $58500..... a 5.3 version of the same truck is easily mid 50's msrp..... Ford can take their trucks and shove them far up their asses lol. They wanted a $10K difference to my double cab TRD SR5 Yota.... I I just laughed..... You want $10K and to totally downgrade me...... good luck. They didn't seem at all shocked when I mentioned that their prices are absurd..... probably hear it a lot. There are diddly for the 2015 and 2016 F150's out and about here versus the GM twins or Rams and now I see why lol.
  3. Well I do thank this thread for something I never paid attention too being grade braking. I turned it off and drove my truck today..... can't say that I won't drive that way all the time now lol. It's nice not having the truck constantly downshifting. Also figured out on my 2015 Tundra if you press and hold the traction control button twice it disables the system entirely..... like my how much traction control my 86 K5 Blazer has. It was almost unbearable on a gravel road before.... now it's a blast.... and does awesome burnouts! Wish I could get my Chev to do that lol.
  4. At 28000 miles it could be anything.... probably totally unrelated to this thread lol. You could have a strut or shock bad, tire balance problems, wheel bent, sticky u joints etc. If it rides different you probably need shocks and struts... yes 28000 miles is pathetically early but the factory parts aren't exact top quality lol. 5. And nothing for your lost time... I have had mine for 20000 miles of driving and never seen the dealership once since I bought it. I would much prefer that. .. and warranty is irrelevant. I don't know why you care about my warranty so much lol... you honestly could have it if you think it will help your truck for all I care about it. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  6. Uh no... the point is tuning won't repair your transmission anyhow. .. What I choose to do with my truck is irrelevant to you.. and my tuning wasn't done as an attempt to repair something because there is nothing wrong with it. If I have to pay out of pocket to fix the delay issue I couldn't honestly care less... but I want to see people having it done and it actually doing as promised as lots of times these shots in the dark nets nothing. You asked and polled for people who like the 8 speed. ... I am one of them. Sucks yours is a lemon but it is what it is. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  7. Who cares about warranty.... I don't. Mine shifts absolutely fine... I just want the shift points higher, firmer.. etc... I rather enjoy my truck over the fear of god for some warranty they won't honor anyway lol. I might see about the TSB listed above as mine is exhibiting that delay issue but I don't think I want some dealer numpty taking it apart and making it worse lol. 8. 2015 with 21000 miles. Love mine..... delays from park to whatever gear but I really couldn't care less. Shifts good and does what I want mostly. Just have to play with the tuning some more to get my shifts to 6100 rpm or so.
  9. Lol. Not remotely what I meant.. my powertrain is not stock and I don't let dealer ass clowns near the truck. Pretty sure the cam, afm delete, blower and long tubes should finish off the warranty lol. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  10. I guess I am weird... I just clean mine up and repair it myself... I do a better job than they would ever be bothered with and no I am not taking the truck apart to do it lol. Different strokes I guess. Then again I refuse to let GM dealers touch the truck and have voided my warranty so it's not a concern of mine either lol. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  11. You really want the dealership to yank the cab and the box off plus dismantle everything to do this... I wouldn't. Unless they take your chassis and actually sandblast it or at minimum wire wheel the whole thing it's going to just do it again anyway lol. Hell if you are going that far pony up some money and have the frame stripped bare and powder coated. Seems like a waste of time and effort to have the same shitty tar blasted on it so it can just peel off again in a few years or less. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  12. Show me any aftermarket part some noodle head at a dealer or from TAC won't use to push for voiding a warranty. Warranty is such a joke.. and stuff for even these trucks isn't crazy expensive... If you want to keep your "warranty" with no questions asked just stay stock lol. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  13. Just any old straight piece of 3" pipe. If you buy MBRP's junk as an example it is literally a completely straight piece of pipe from the third cat to the muffler. So any old exhaust ship can hook you up. My Borla has some goofy bends in it and mounts the muffler up at an angle but whatever lol Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  14. No. GM does not make the ATAK model nor would I want it from GM as I don't want that stupid flapper valve they put in the systems. My truck was never really any quieter than pretty well any other truck I have ever owned and is about the same as it was with the stock exhaust. There is a bit of rumble but it's nothing like how it was before. The ATAK is the loudest offering Borla has and that's what I wanted... If you want dead stock silent.... stay stock lol.
  15. Lots of guys run MBRP here and I have had other systems that didn't get this bad this quick. Why this one is so awful I could not tell you... hell the stock exhaust is supposedly only T409 as well and they don't rot like this junk did. My stock exhaust on this truck was pretty damn rusty though and I took it off when I got the the truck home brand new from the dealer... typical GM quality lol. This is my second fail from MBRP actually as one system I had on a 6.2 F150 was junk too... Bought the nearly as expensive as real stainless powder coated black option... Yep... that lasted about 3 months and was mostly bare steel. Just junk. Something sad though... Flo Pro is just aluminized steel... nothing stainless... and I have one of their big ovals on my 05 1500HD. Well after probably 5 winters now it's still mint... not rotten... still mostly clean metal. Doesn't say a lot for this garbage. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  16. Installed my Borla ATAK today and removed my MBRP from my 2015 6.2 Silverado. The MBRP is garbage is 8 months old and looks like hell.....rusted like a 20 year old piece of junk. MBRP says just to use a little metal polish to bring it back... well maybe if I sandblasted the thing first that might work..... but there is no polishing in the world cleaning this up. They don't warrant rust either on their T409 systems and say it's "normal"..... uh huh...... Oh and even suggest you buy T304... funny... you jerkoffs don't make a T304 exhaust for my truck. Oh well... enough about scrap metal. The ATAK fit pretty good and is the dual out model with 2 tips under the bumper. It sounds awesome on startup with a much richer tone than the MBRP ever had..... and on the throttle in the truck is good. One nice huge plus from the MBRP.... the ATAK when cruising has about as much interior noise as the stock system did..... which is great. I don't have AFM enabled and likely in the next while will rip the lifters right out of the truck and do a cam so I don't care about that aspect. The one tip does stick back further than the other but I think I can pull the passenger side out a little if I loosen it off if it really bothers me. The drivers side will not go any further back as I already tried that. We will see how it holds up... won't be like this junk I am sure:
  17. That plug is stainless lol. I am going to paint it black when I feel like it one of these days. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  18. My truck at 11000 miles has developed a vibration now. I feel it in the floor boards as well as the steering wheel at highway speeds. I will have the tires checked first to make sure however. Oh yeah.... it's a 2015 Tundra double cab... lol. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  19. That's what I did under my hood. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  20. God you are making me second guess..... it might be 3/4" NPT actually lol. I would have to look at the truck and it's not here. I would say look at yours to be sure.
  21. Those 2 pieces would work excellent! Even better than my tubing contraption lol. For esthetics I used a recessed steel conduit plug that sits flush into the tube for that one that faces the engine. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  22. None of those places carry this stuff. Industrial retailers would be the only way you will find it. Hardwares and home depot type places might have some brass stuff that will work. Otherwise maybe a truck parts place ( highway tractors) or plumbing and heating. Or Google compression fitting and find something wherever you live. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  23. Sort of. We will say close enough to how I arranged mine. I tossed out a bunch of the stuff you guys sent to make a cleaner install at least for the separator side of things... and of course added a little bit of stuff too. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  24. My inventory from my company lol. It's all Swagelok stainless fittings and tubing. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
  25. No you can mouth the can however or wherever you want it... I don't think anyone cares lol. I did a 1/2" NPT pipe plug in the one hole on my Airaid tube and then a half inch NPT to 3/8" tubing 90 degree fitting. I put a short section of 3/8" tubing in the fitting and attached the rubber hose to it. Didn't use much of what they sent along really lol. Sent from my SM-G900W8 using Tapatalk
