I definitely think you made the right decision. That 6.0L and 6L90E may not be monsters but they sure are reliable, and with a tune they can be fairly snappy. My buddy just picked up a left over 16 dmax, LT2, same color as yours. I rode in it last weekend and just absolutely fell in love. The interiors and the ride are amazing. He went 3 or 4 turns on the t-bars, fit 305/55/20 Cooper Stt's on the stock 20's. Like you said though, he still has about 2" of rake on his and he is considering taking out the rear block. He only has a 7' door at the house so he really doesn't want to go up more. I just can't believe how big those new HD's are though, it is awesome! Congrats!!!

I think you forget that the '89 TBI you had does not include torque management, that alone makes 400 ft/lbs feel like absolutely nothing. Either my '07 GMT 1500 5.3L or my '08 2500hd 6.0L both with Black Bear tunes would not be ate up from 0-30, that is unless I couldn't keep the tires hooked. I owed a '95 Silverado and I agree, it had great torque.

No wonder they rust in a week after purchase. Been sitting outside in the elements for months...

Undercoated the frame last night. Got some on the right bank of the exhaust before the cat, gonna smell that burning off for weeks now dangit...

After a bunch of research and keeping a budget in mind, I ordered a MBRP single side cat back this morning. I hope the sound is on par with the 100 videos I have watched on youtube.

This is what we ended up doing to get them off my buddy's '00. If you told me they were welded on I would have believed it, it was ridiculous.

Got the KO2's installed yesterday, 285/65/18, love the look and ride. Zero rub on a 2" level with factory splash guards.

My first truck had KO's, since then my trucks have had a plethora of tires: BFG mud terrains, Revo 2's, Trail Grapplers, Cooper ST's, Cooper STT's, and now KO2's. I almost bought the ST MAXX for this truck but they were about $100 more and they didn't come in white letters.

Haha yes they are! It took me months to decided what tire I wanted. Typically I have a tire fetish than lands me a set of mud tires or hybrid AT/MT's. Now that I'm married, and we are hoping to start a family, I went with a tire that I know will perform and last. I've had one set of KO's in the past so I figure I'll be happy with the KO2's, plus I really like the new sidewall.

Ordered BFG KO2's in a 285/65/18 on Saturday, they go on tomorrow morning. Pretty darn excited.

I ordered a replacement latch off Ebay for $6 shipped. Took only about 10 minutes to change it out. Looked it up on YouTube and saw how easy it was, I should have bought more latches.

Perfect, thank you I typically order from Summit as well. Side note, I keep a file on all the trucks I have had as well. Has helped me get my asking price on two trucks I've sold, the guys were surprised I kept such good tabs on things. I should really do what you do and organize things in a binder, I can tell you are an engineer.

Total side note... Ryan, do you off hand know the part number for your sill protectors? Not the still plate but the protector that goes over the paint of the rocker The previous owner before me scratched the cab rocker up and I want to add these to hide the marks.

I have always had window tint at 5% prior to this truck because daylight glare really bothers my eyes. I always wear a hat or my polarized oakleys outside of the truck because of this. In the truck i hated sunglasses because I have great peerifial vision and I feel they hampered that. I stepped down to only 20% tint on this truck because it is definitely tougher to see at night. But to be honest tint makes it easier for me to look and see oncoming or cross traffic at night, it cuts the headlight glare. In town we have great lighting so I was never worried about pedestrians. I see a lot of accident reports working in our engineering department for traffic and safety reasons, never read one that faulted window tint. Just saying.

Put my Zone 2" level on yesterday, nice Sunday afternoon in the driveway.

I just missed you. I was down for 4 wheel jamboree a couple weekends ago, but you wouldn't of had them installed then. Those 275/70/18's never rubbed with your 2" level and factory mud flaps did they?

Post pics when they go on, these may be my next tire in that size or a 285/65/18.

Go ahead and tell me some facts of E85 on fuel injected motors controlled by a computer. Maybe you should "look that up". We can spin this however we want for both of us to be right. The point is, there are benefits to E85 for horsepower and torque numbers, especially if tuned correctly. There are also engines were there are absolutely no gains to be made, you are correct.

It is a torsion drop kit instead of a non torsion drop kit. Some kits keep the torsion bars in the stock location and others drop the location of the torsion bars, it is really a personal preference.
