  1. Paid the guy for the boat and brought it to a friend's property for the time being. Also picked up 2 buckets of roofing tar and other miscellaneous stuff to see if we can stop a leak in the room at my rental property. We were going to rotate the tires and change the external transmission filter but we ran out of energy after fixing the roof in the middle of the night. Plus my buddy has been up for 36 hours now. Maybe tomorrow we'll rotate the trucks after we go see our roofing job in the daylight.
  2. I don't know if I'd want to do 110 in this truck, did it a couple times in my older trucks. I get on my friends all the time for being on their phones while driving, I try to set a good example for them :-d
  3. Truck hit 50k on the way down to Ft Pierce to go fishing yesterday. Before anyone says anything my backseat passenger took the picture. Did a horrible lazy wash job this morning. I guess I'll have to break out the bucket and sponge since the foam and pressure washer didn't get it clean. Also took it to my mechanic and had them check the fluids, shocks, and grease the chassis. Looks like if I decide to change the transmission filter I'll be doing it myself. Mechanic wants $100 and the dealer wants $200 to do the 50k maintenance. My buddies want nothing, so whatever parts cost.
  4. Took my truck in to get the front windows retinted since I messed them up. Ended up getting the 5 windows tinted instead, I guess I'll find out if this fancy ceramic stuff keeps my truck cooler. After I got my truck back went to a friend's house and took a truck load of her stuff to goodwill. Then loaded the bed back up with furniture she was throwing out and took it to the dumpster. Found out I had a headlight out, picked up a set of bulbs on the way home. Found out I never want to change the bulbs on this truck ever again. I miss the absolute simplicity of my '06 and '01. Odd part is I never had a headlight go out on either one of those trucks with all the night driving I did.
  5. Brought it home finally, dealer had it since last Friday. There were a couple trucks with pretty much the same problem as mine. Dealer hadn't seen it before so apparently that's why it took so long. The fuel hose near the rail kinked/collapsed. I'm just glad to have my truck back and to have gotten rid of that horrible Encore they gave me as a loaner. They even put $50 of fuel in it. Forgot to write the mileage down when I gave it to them so I don't know exactly how many miles they put on it trying to diagnose/recreate the problem and checking the fixing of the problem. Got the truck back with more fuel than when I took it in so I guess that's a plus too. Just messes with my super anal logging of everything, oh well.
  6. They work less than you'd hope. I get fingers or nothing from 90% of the people I honk at. Only 10% do I see jump I do need to start honking more though. As far as what I did with my truck. Not a dang thing it's still in the shop. Monday they called and said they think it might be the fuel pump. Tuesday they called and said they think one of the fuel lines is collapsed or something. I don't know, I thought it would be pretty simple zero diesel in the fuel filter could only be cause by 3 or 4 things right? Then again what do I know.
  7. So apparently the fuel filter was empty and the engine was "starved" thus the reason why it just quit running. Unless I heard the guy wrong. I'll double check when I go in a few minutes to get some stuff out of my truck that I forgot to grab. Tech got it running and had it running for an hour and a half this morning. Now they need to figure out why it wasn't getting fuel. So the waiting game continues. I didn't think they'd even look at it until Monday so that's a plus.
  8. Engine decided to die, while I was driving, and didn't want to restart. I wonder if this is what dad experienced with the engine harness being corroded. I guess I'll find out Monday when they get a chance to look at it. Yay for extended warranties. Also thankfully it didn't do this when I was driving home with groceries, or to/from Tampa Wednesday night.
  9. Tuesday I picked up an aux gas tank from my storage house and took it down to a friend that could possibly get some use out of it. Cleaned the outside of the windshield and put rainx on it, changed the wiper blades too. Cleaned the drivers side of the inside and then said screw it and gave up. Torqued all 32 lug nuts to 140 ft lb or there about. 0058 Wednesday morning received a txt from my best friend's girlfriend saying her BF told her to call me since he was on duty and having a busy night. Apparently she went to world of beer and left the head lights on (on her civic, which is in MS, the lights turn on and off automatically, buddy's 4runner doesn't). Whoever she was with couldn't get it to start by jumping it. Get out there jump it and get it going. Notice the low fuel light is on and an estimated 9 miles left. Yeah that was a lie, barely made it a 1/4 mile and it died at the intersection for the gas station. Jumped it again since the battery didn't seem to strong and it had enough fuel to make the uturn at the light and into the gas station. Then followed her the 13 miles back to buddy's place. I really wish he'd learn to put gas in his vehicles, always runs them 1/4 or less of a tank and only fills up when we're going out of town. Even worse now that he just uses his patrol car since he really doesn't go many places off duty. I love my friends...I love my friends...I lo...grrrrrr Later today I'll be driving down to Tampa for a concert. I should probably get some sleep, at least that would be the smart thing to do right?
  10. Wrong thread, can't figure out how to delete post on my phone.
  11. Belt too. I like my wilderness belt and my belt from belt man. Downside is I've gotten too fat to use the belt man belt, almost too fat for the wilderness belt too.
  12. Yeah they're there. I was just trying to be lazy and find a nice kit that has the install thingie, valve stems, and the beads all in one. Maybe I'll browse some more when I get to the airport in a couple hours. Was also trying to stick with the Counteract brand but I guess the other 4 or 5 brands shouldn't suck either.
  13. Yeah the pain in the butt seems to be finding the whole kit for a dually, or even a truck. Most of the kits for counteract I see are for motorcycles or only have 4 3oz bags. Might go with another brand if they answer my inquiry since they have a dually kit. That way I don't have to go looking for each thing separately. I guess I could just learn to do math and buy multiple of the 4 bag kits and make it add up to the 36 oz I need. Don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.
  14. Yeah looks that way. I think last time I looked I couldn't find anything on buying them from counteract. Amazon looks to have resellers so I guess I'll order 6 bags from one of the resellers. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll come in next week so I can do it on my vacation since none of them seem to have prime. Really wish amazons search function wasn't garbage. Doesn't look like there are any sellers of the 6oz bags on amazon either. At least not that brand, I guess I could try e-z tire beads. Or just use ebay apparently.
  15. Still need to get those. Wish there was someone closer than 78 miles away to install/get them from.
  16. Maybe, although sometimes I think the roads I travel on in NJ are better than the constantly under construction ones here in Orlando. I've known a few people that have blown out tires or bent rims because of all the construction we have always going on. Granted they drive cars and some of them were lowered so there's that too. I also don't really slow down for stuff unless the vehicle in front of me forces me to. Just got back from installing the dash cam I bought last week. Ran the power cord along the top of the windshield tucked into the headliner where it will hopefully stay, then down the pillar, through the fuse panel opening, and behind the steering column panel. That should do until I get around to getting or making a hard wire kit. Think I messed up the top tint strip a little. That or I forgot to take the plastic off the suction cup. Oh well. Took 15 minutes and I found out I'm missing one of the screws on the bottom steering panel.
  17. I guess I baby my trucks my 2500HDs I didn't replace any suspension or brake components except shocks. Sold the '01 with over 90k on it and the '06 with 111k. I did wear out some bump stops though, don't remember if I ever replaced them. Being mechanically stupid I'd have to look up how to even know if anything was bad. I didn't even know I needed new shocks until I noticed them leaking, didn't feel a difference in ride quality.
  18. Friday gave the beast a bath, cleaned the inside of the windshield, pulled the rears off and cleaned the rims under the plastic hub cap thingies, vacuumed the inside, and washed the floor mats. Still looks like poop because apparently I can't wash a truck for anywhere near well anymore. Also looked up the torque specs in the manual and torqued the rears to spec for once. Still need to torque the fronts. Saturday picked up a couple co-workers since I got volunteered to be their DD. They both got drunk, one was worse than the other, but she managed to hold it in and not puke in my somewhat clean truck.
  19. Nothing. It sat in my driveway while my friend drove us up to to Royal Springs. 6 hour round trip. Fun day too.
  20. Cleaner than underneath mine.
  21. I'd say I'll have to look into those next time I get tires for the beast but the 6 Michelins I put on there will be the only set I'm buying for it. Once the extended warranty runs out in a little under 2 years I'm going back to a 6.0. No need for a diesel, just don't feel like having payments on a new truck just to get rid of one that still runs fine. I discovered the other night that if I push the panic button it chirps the horns 3 times. If I hold the panic button the alarm goes off which surprisingly activates the air horns. Really loud alarm haha. This is probably in the manual, but it's more fun to find things out randomly sometimes. Now I have way to drown out people when they're talking.
  22. I guess I'm doing it wrong then. Oh well 14ish at 70-90mph still beats my '06 not being able to hit 15 @ 55mph. I think i get 14 normal driving but I work nights so no traffic to contend with.
  23. What's that 20.8 MPG thing..mine only goes to like 16 if I'm lucky lol
  24. The fast food place. At least that's what chase said Visa said.
  25. 1300+ miles round trip 20 something hours probably a least 8 hours of which it rained. 12.65, 14.13, and 14.09 were the averages. Don't know the last 200 or so miles as I haven't filled up yet. Activated XM on the way home came out to $25 for 5 months. Let them try to recharge my card, it's canceled anyway. I can't fill up or buy anything until I get my new card. Thanks Sonics for possibly being breached. Holy crap is it hot in MS. Maybe I haven't noticed it here in FL since I've been hiding in my house for almost 2 months.
