  1. So I got rid of the POS 2024 3500 I had and ordered a 2026 Duramax 3500 on December 15, 2025. Traded in the lemon and took a kick in the nuts. Whatever. Anyways, it was 2 weeks ago that the factory finally picked up the order. Today they gave me a production date of May 18 2206. I live just outside Vancouver BC and the dealer indicated that after production it usually takes 1-1.5 months for them to receive it. I never would have thought I'd have so much trouble spending $120K. I don't know if I'd be better waiting for a 2027... No real point to this post other than to vent to someone other than my wife. And to let others know that orders will eventually get picked, though in Canada dealer allocation is pretty shitty compared to the USA. I also miss driving a pickup- the 2021 GMC Terrain doesn't cut it.
  2. Lol, kilometers, not miles. It's a gentle curved onramp with a short acceleration lane, so you need to boot it to get up to the speed of traffic.
  3. So here we go again. Died again, this time doing 90 on a freeway onramp. Oh joy. Another tow back to the dealer. Finally talked to the service manager. That made me happy as I was also able to show the video of the truck blowing blue under hard acceleration. Anyways, he explained why they replaced the battery which obviously did not help. They replaced a 'fuel pump module' and will do further testing. After looking around online, it seems that every manufacturer puts out turds at times- mines just one of them. So I may as well stay with GM. Likely will take a kick in the nuts and trade this one in for a 2026. Cheers everyone.
  4. I agree with you that I doubt the problem has been fixed. When it died and I was parked in the center of the highway, I noted that the dash etc stayed on. Even with the truck 'off' I still had radio and display. Opening and closing the door made no difference- display was still on. I think that is what killed the battery. I told the service guy but here we are. The posts I make about my experiences are to keep everyone informed if someone has a similar situation.
  5. So got the truck back today. The cause was a battery internal circuit fault. They jumped the vehicle, found a bad battery and replaced it. Did not speak to the tech, only the service tech Now, don't know if I buy this. The truck has dual batteries. If it has enough power to crank over, why not enough to run all the related electric circuits. SO I guess you all should be aware that if your battery is failing you won't get a warning other than the engine shutting off. While driving. At potentially high speeds. Thought about going another route and getting rid of this pig, but after spending Friday night researching other trucks, it seems that really no one manufacturer is better than the other- they all put out garbage at times. It's the devil you know I guess, as my Grandma used to say. If I can figure out over the next few weeks how to reduce the size of a video, I'll post one of the truck blowing blue and see what you all think. Cheers for now everyone.
  6. Well here's another one. Driving down the highway when the truck suddenly loses power. Takes me a sec to realize the truck isn't running. DIC warning 'put shifter in neutral and press start button'. Nothing happens. Manage to strongarm and stop this beast in the center of the highway (middle turn lane so somewhat safe). Put the truck in park and tried the ignition. Engine turns over but will not start. Phone gets the text below. I really do want to love this truck, but I think I got a lemon. Three times prior speed restricted with the last fix a replacement throttle body. And now this. Towed to the dealer (though out of range so I am on the hook for the extra distance not covered by the warranty). Funny that the first truck couldn't take it as the electric park brake engaged as soon as he put it in neutral. Had to call a flat deck. Or so he told me- I took an Uber home long before. Anyways, thought I'd share another fun experience that I have had with my truck.
  7. Located in Ladner. Paying $1.74/liter last fill. Bloody crooks. Where abouts are you?
  8. I'd say I fill up at Chevron 95% of the time. We do have a Co-op locally. Better Diesel you think? I've started adding Hot Shot diesel treatment since I got the truck back.
  9. I think I should update this thread. Got it back from the dealer a few weeks ago. Here is the breakdown from the worksheet I got from the dealership: P122D Current code. Followed P122D-00 diagnostic steps, clear code, repeat. Inspect throttle plate assembly for damage/obstruction/coking. Found carbon build-up by nothing restricting the throttle plate. Remove for more thorough inspection. Backside of throttle plate is chipped in multiple spots along the sealing edge. Clean area and install replacement throttle plate. WTF is carbon building up on the throttle plate? Do these trucks need a catch can? Mileage is 53000km.
  10. I take it on quite a few long trips, plus highway speeds in the lower mainland, so I didn't think it was a regen problem. I got it back today. Error code P122D. They replaced the throttle plate as there were numerous chips on the backside along the sealing edge. Like, WTF, chipped throttle blade? Anyways, glad to have the truck back, but I don't trust it yet.
  11. Hey everyone, back in May the check engine light came on and I got the warning in the DIC (pictures attached are from today but it read the same). Took it to the dealer. Tech could not find anything wrong though he did pull 2 codes. All summer it was fine until last week. The check engine light and notice came on for a bit but went out before I could get to the dealer. I have a big road trip planned tomorrow and guess what, it's back. I have noted that this truck pushes blue smoke occasionally when accelerating. Dealer was told last year and they indicated no oil loss between changes. Anyways, I am curious if other members have experienced this. Truck is a 2024 3500 Duramax. Cheers.
  12. Just an update- I had my truck in for service and noted to the service manager that the mirror seems really loose. It is being replaced under warranty. I suggest that you try another dealership.
  13. Well, well well. I have the same issue with the drivers side as well. On rough roads it shakes so bad it looks like its going to fall off. My mirrors are not extended in tow mode either. If I grab the bottom of the mirror frame it easily moves up and down. The passenger side will not budge- totally solid. I was planning to bring this up at the next service. Interesting how so many of these issues with these trucks repeat (upper glove box latch, drivers side running board lights failing-I know, I know totally first world problems) and now drivers mirrors.
