  1. My LTZ Z71 4x4 Silverado short bed crewcab has Aluminum. My LTZ Texas Edition 4x4 Silverado with short bed and crewcab has steel. I don't know about GMC since I did not look at them when I bought my Chevy's. Both have the 5.3 motor and 342 gearing.
  2. I have two 2014's that I have not had a problem with. Never had a problem with my 2002, 2005 or my 2010. All Silverado's fully loaded out. If you want to go back as far as 1999 then I did have the power lumbar serviced on that Silverado. My first Silverado was a 1989 when they first started making the extended cab. No problems with that one either.
  3. I put Nitto Terra Grappler tires on my wife's truck. She did not like the looks of the Goodyear tires. I will problaby put them on my truck in a few weeks.
  4. I let XM expire so I have been using HD FM a lot in both of my trucks. I also have the Nav radio and both trucks work great.
  5. The only way I notice the switch is if I watch the read out on the dash. Its this way on both of my trucks. Very smooth and quiet.
  6. If you don't like my opinion then by all means do not read it.

How would anyone know if they don't like your opinion unless they read your post !

Damned if you do damned if you don't! lol

  8. So many people constantly complain about their truck it makes me wonder why they bought them in the first place. Kind of tired hearing all the whiners. Sell your truck if you don't like and stop whining about it.

  10. How do i delete my profile?

  11. Same here on both of my 14 trucks. I have the Nav and Bose radio system. I wonder if some of the people with the problems have the other type radio.
  12. I have the GM tri-fold hard cover on both of my trucks as well. No leaks thus far. I like the covers.
  13. No complaints here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. The continental tires may be the cause but I seem to remember some complaints about the Goodyear tires too.
  15. I have two 14 Silverado crew cabs, 342 rear end, 4x4 trucks with the Goodyear 20 inch SR A tires and Chrome wheels and both are smooth as glass. 5,000 miles on one and 2,000 on the other. NO VIBRATIONS or any other problems for that matter. It is difficult to understand why some people have the vibration and many more do not.
  16. well, lilke I said I rarely listen to FM due to all the commercials. But is does work well for me in the DFW area. When I travel its always XM and has been for years. Thanks for the info.
  17. Okay, I have been following this thread for a while. I do not usually listen to fm since I hate all the commercials. But I decided to try it for the last three or four days. It works very well in HD or regular fm in both of my trucks. I do live in the DFW area but some of the stations are 30 miles or more from me. I was just wondering if some of you that are having problems may live out in a rural area where Xm may not pick up well. Just curious.
  18. Its really weird how things go wrong with a few of the 14 trucks and not others. Both of my 14 Silverado's have been trouble free, bought one for my wife last August and liked it so much I bought one for me last Oct. Hope everyone with problems gets it taken care of.
  19. I have the chevy hard tri fold with vinyl top on both of my trucks. No leaks, fit and finish is great. It locks when the tail gate is locked. I keep aero space 303 protectant on the vinyl. $770 installed by the dealer when I bought the trucks. They have a 3 year/36,000 miles warranty just like the truck does and the dealer takes care of everything. In my opinion the chevy cover seems to go with the outlines of the truck better than some after markets I have seen. Just my opinion though. I like the covers.
  20. I don't think its the tires unless they are not balanced properly. I have been reading the thread about the vibration and possible tire issue. We have two 14 LTZ Silverado 4x4 short bed crew cabs in our house hold. Both have the 20 chrome rims with 275 55 20 Wrangler SRA tires. Neither have any type vibration at all up to 90 mph and are as quiet as a church mouse. That's as fast as I have been. One truck has 4,000 miles and the other close to 2,000 miles on it.
  21. My wife has a 14 Texas Edition Silvarado 4x4 with 5.3 motor, 342 rear end and tonneau cover. We got 20.2 mpg on a roundtrip from Ft. Worth to Ft. Walton Beach last week. Interstate highway posted speed was 75 and we drove 80 most of the way. Of course that had some city driving in it too. She gets a little over 16 mpg in heavy city traffic around Ft. Worth. I was so impressed with her truck that I bought one just like it this week except mine is a Silvarado Z71 and a different color.
