  1. Super annoying. 2015 Silverado, 83K miles. For a few months I noticed that every so often approaching a stop the ABS would kick on, the pedal would travel almost to the floor, and the truck would take a while to stop. It was really bad the other day so I installed a new master cylinder and that DID NOT solve the problem. Piss me the hell off. Don't want to have to replace the vacuum pump.
  2. Public service announcement... many of you already probably know or figured this to be the case, but the USB GM Map Updates can only be used on one VIN. I bought a used 2019 update 84513064 on Ebay and it wouldn't work on my truck. Called Here America who is the GM nav update support group and they confirmed it can only be used on the VIN it was ordered for.
  3. Just had it detailed today...wow those guys know how to make it shine. 60,000 miles and looks brand new.
  4. A couple updates: 1) Worked out a deal with another forum member to sell the intake. He's getting a practically brand-new intake for a good price, win-win. 2) Beware of Moore Racing Technology in Nevada who I bought this intake from. aFe actually said they would accept the intake back as a return, but I would have to do it through the seller. After two emails, multiple unanswered phone calls, and a Facebook message that was read within minutes of me sending it, MRT has never responded to any of my attempts to communicate with them. 3) I instead modified the stock airbox by cutting out some of the stock filter box plastic that blocks airflow in from the fender well, and installed a Green Filter #2006 drop-in oiled filter into the stock airbox. Although it doesn't feel quite like the aFe did, it definitely feels better than stock, especially with throttle response.
  5. Not a bad idea. I did some research on the resonators on the stock box also; apparently one reason they're there is to allow the backpressure coming OUT of the throttle body (which is mostly sound) somewhere to expand, instead of slamming into the air that's trying to enter the throttle body. I may try to line those two corrugated sections with some flexible tubing or something. Too bad because I like the performance of the aFe intake, especially the throttle response.
  6. Well after 3 weeks and 500 miles I removed the aFe intake and reinstalled the factory air box. Guess I'm too old for a louder engine. I must have spent about 20 hours experimenting with ways to quiet it down, but no luck. Bought some industrial sound deadening foam and wrapped the intake tube and air box but it made no difference at all. I also lined the inside of the fender well, tried it without the air box (just tube and filter), and with the wheel well liner removed. Nothing made any difference. Working on a return but if I can't return it, I'll be looking to re-sell it...fits 5.3L and 6.2L trucks.
  7. I think it sounds good too, when I'm in the mood for it. It's actually kind of nice as far as that goes, maybe even something you don't get with a performance exhaust - as long as you don't punch it, it sounds quiet as stock. Especially helpful for when my wife is riding along...
  8. I've emailed videos with sound clips to aFe asking for help, and they said they'd have to try to find a 6.2L and see if they can hear it in person for themselves. I'm wondering if this is the way it's "supposed" to sound...the more gas you give it, the louder the engine noise gets. But I've had aftermarket filters before on other vehicles and don't seem to remember it being this loud.
  9. I don't think it's the V4 drone...it's definitely throttle related. At light throttle you can go all the way up through the rev range without it being loud. As soon as you give it a hard stab of gas it's immediately a loud engine noise, it does kind of sound like a performance exhaust. It's loudest around 3500 rpm but again that's only with mid to heavy throttle. I'm starting to think that this is normal for this intake, it's a 51-74104 aFe Momentum GT. There's an opening in the front of the air box that's oval shaped, about 2" x 4", and they give you a rubber plug for it. I have the plug in, and also plugged a 3/4" hole in the bottom of the air box, but no difference in sound that I can tell.
  10. Just installed the aFe Momentum 51-74104 dry filter intake on my 2015 6.2L Silverado. It's dead quiet at low throttle and louder at heavy throttle, but sometimes it makes this booming resonance noise that drives me crazy, even when barely accelerating. It's much louder than the normal increased sound from heavy throttle. Anybody have any advice on how to get rid of the noise or where it's coming from? Thanks.
  11. IMO they're good tires for getting around town (Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas) but average or a little below average in snow and off-road. Not noisy and fairly comfortable ride as long as you don't pump up the tire pressure too high. They are wearing pretty decent too, I've used about 5/32 over about 18,000 miles. I got a good price on a set of new take-offs (like you said they are stock on some trucks) and would be OK with them for a summer set but when they're worn out I'll be getting something that does better in the snow.
  12. 275/60-20 with Trailblazer SS +22 replicas and 2" front / 1" rear level...I've had bigger tires on but to get bigger sizes you have to get LT tires and they are usually at least 15 lbs heavier than stock, you can feel it with braking and accelerating and I didn't care for that.
  13. Any advice or pointers on how to get the blower out?
  14. Slightly different spin on this topic...after the dealership replaced the cabin air filter I started noticing a whirring or tapping sound that goes away when you turn off the HVAC. Quickly found that it's the fan that sucks air down through the cabin air filter. I took the filter out and expected to see a leaf or something in there but can't see anything, doing my best with a mirror to see the whole way around. Anyone else run into this?
  15. I also have a 2015 LTZ with the 10 way power adjustment and hate the drivers seat. It came with factory leather which I removed and replaced with 2016 cloth covers (took 14 hours!), which helped a little, the seams in the side bolsters dug into my thighs. But like a lot of other posters here, I think the foam is way too hard and the seat front doesn't tilt down far enough. I'm 5'11" 180 lbs and a few cheesburgers would probably help. The other problem is that the pedals are too close to the seat. I have longer legs and a shorter upper body so either my knees are hitting the dash or I'm reaching forward to the steering wheel. It would help a lot if that freaking electrical box isn't where a left food dead pedal should be (I can't believe GM kept it there with this new body style, I hated it with the previous style too). I've had (no lie) a 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, two 2009, a 2010 and a 2013 in addition to this 2015. I don't remember having such a miserable time with the seat in any of them.
  16. Hmm, I think the clips are all fine, like little barbs. I stood on the running board and leaned with both hands down on the trim but it won't snap in. The metal part of the trim is like an upside down V shape, maybe I bent that V open a little when I pulled the trim off.
  17. Having the same problem here...my truck is black so I just took off the chrome window trim and sanded / primed / spray painted it gloss black. Looks great but just can't get these friggin' clips to seat back in the window again!
  18. 2015 with 2" front / 1" rear lift, gloss black Trailblazer SS replica wheels with custom Chevy center caps, 20" x 9" with +22 offset, and 275/60-20 Bridgestone Duelers
