I wanted to hear how my truck will sound if I played with the exhaust adaptive valve, so I took a 2" clamp, turned the valve 90 degrees and clamped it really well.
It sounded nice when the exhaust was cold, took it for a short drive and noticed the tone got better when the exhaust warmed up, slightly louder, defiantly not a $1k exhaust catback sound, but hey, it's FREE!! or almost free if you don't have a 2" clamp laying around.
I'll leave the clamp for a few days, if I like the sound I might as well take that dumb valve off.
Thought about passing this tip for anyone who's considering a catback or leasing his truck, this mod is totally reversible.
On a side note, I searched all over the forum about the tailpipe diameter for the 2014 6.2L, and found that it's supposed to be the same as the 5.3L, which is about 3" or 2 7/8", but when I measured mine, it was 3.5". Did GM changed the exhaust on later builds or what?
