  1. No never jump started engine. I have a sub and amp installed but I had that before the HID kit. Don't see why that would affect headlights. Not one for having to turn off auto lights everytime I get in my truck. May give the HIDs one more try maybe the kit was faulty or something. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. To the GMC SLE guys running HID's, I ran a 35w morimoto kit in my SLE for a little over a year with no problems at all then all of a sudden my drivers side bulb and ballast burnt. Is this something I should expect being the SLE lights are on all the time? Loved the lights just don't want to have to replace every year. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. I also thought the drivers side was a better place to mount the relay and thats where i put it. No extensions needed. Heres what i did. Take off the plastic cover on top of grill that covers radiator and fans. Held by a bunch of plastic tabs. Takes 2 minutes. Place relay inside to the left of the driver side headlight. Each ballasts will mount next to each headlight. You will see an existing wire from factory under there and thats what i zip tied the relay wire to. Once you put plastic cover back on you wont see any of it. For power i used the under hood fuse box. If you look on back of box towards firewall there is a black cap. Cap pops off and there is power from battery. Place power wire from relay here. Drill holes in dust caps and place bulbs. Done deal. Everything looks clean.
  4. Nope mine work fine. I have a sierra so i cant speak for the silverados.
  5. You would want the Morimoto Silverado spec kit. About as plug and play as you will get with a hid kit. I went with the 5500k bulbs. Pure white. No issues so far.
  6. No LED running lights. SLE.
  7. I recently completed my HID install with the Morimoto sierra spec kit. I went with the XB35 5500k. They seem to match my vled 5000k fogs well. The hardest part was trying to decide where to run the relay and ballasts. Much better light output than stock even after the factory tsb update. I have an SLE so i had the same issue with drl's not coming on til i put it in drive. Im kind of thinking its a normal thing as so many others have same issue. No other issues tho. Forgot to take night pics will get those soon.
  8. To the guys with Sierra SLE, did you have any problems with the hids running as drl's? Does it make a difference which wattage i get? Would prefer 55w just not sure if its too much for drl. After reading 180 pages im still not clear on which wattage i should get or if i need both relay and error cancel? Thanks.
  9. Foglights will come on when low beams come on. With DRL, no foglights. I have same jump 10-22 and keep my switch on auto. You wont have control of foglights but they will be on at all times with low and high beams.
  10. Looking at the CRC cleaner on amazon and came across the CRC MAF sensor cleaner. Anyone use this with their intake cleaning? Does the MAF sensor even need to be cleaned?
  11. Just finished the mod. Picked up some diodes at radio shack. I pinned 10 to 22. Works like a charm. Fogs on with both low/hi beams.
  12. Your daily drive sounds ideal for AFM. I drive the same distance daily but on interstate. No V4 above 72 for me unless downhill. Feels like it keeps shifting so i see no benefit. I still avg 19 mpg over my last 400 miles. Thats at 75-80mph for 80 percent of my daily drive. The other 20 percent city driving I dont see gains from V4. A good tune would make my driving a lot better.
  13. My best so far. Been running 93 octane last couple of tanks. Very pleased with the mpg in this truck. 5.3L 3.42 crew 2WD Airaid intake
  14. The fastest I set my cruise at with V4 on the hwy was 72. That is on complete flat hwy on a recent trip from LA to FL. However on my daily drive to work I drive over 70 on hwy with several overpasses causing it to go in and out of V4 which is more aggravation than benefit. Its not so much the drone but that it feels like it keeps shifting. I am actually thinking of getting a tune to delete AFM as it doesnt benefit me much. My truck is CC 5.3 with 3.42.
  15. I agree TDT. It does sound like wookies at times. I have the Airaid on my 5.3. It is only loud when you get on the throttle but otherwise quiet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
  16. I have my 2WD crew cab with a 2" level. Didnt notice much of a ride difference. I still notice a very slight rake but im happy with it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
