  1. How has that Polaris held up? How much did you pay for it? What kind of repairs have you had to do?>
  2. Spent 25 minutes at the local Shell station (circle K) filling the tank up with Diesel. The thing was coming out as slow as my sink faucet. It was very annoying. Tried various things and tricks but no go. Went in to ask the attendant what was up, he shrugged his shoulder and said "It's diesel, the cold weather is probably causing it to jell up a bit and go slow thru the pump." I shook my head in disbelief at his response. Should have taken notice of another 2 pumps where the diesel handles were covered up with out of service signs. That left my pump and 2 others with diesel nozzles were not covered. Been to this station several times before, never an issue. Was only 32 degrees out. There was air in the line as well, I wonder if the underground storage tank was near empty or something. Got me worried. 20 minutes later, still out at the pump, I look over and see Diesel spilling out from the filler neck onto the ground. The thing was going so slow that it didn't trip the full sensor on the nozzle. About a gallon or so managed to get out by the time I made it over to stop it. Went in and told the clerk what happened, washed my hands, and took off. He didn't seem to care. I did throw a bit of the absorb material onto the ground since there was a bag of it near the pump. Also left a nice little note on the pump that I wrote on the back of someone's business card I found laying around that said in essence: "This pump and likely this station sucks. Pumps slow. Do not use. Go somewhere else" Pet peeve? Slow gas pumps. Some say it's normal for fuel pumps to be slower in the winter. I don't buy it. I've pumped fuel many a times in -10 or more degree weather and the pumps worked just fine.
  3. Well that wasn't very bright! Should have at least gone to Honda! Not sure what it is, but I've noticed more Yohota's with fuel leak issues in the engine compartment than any other make! Responded on several fires over the years.. mixed bag, no set model or year where it's an issue..
  4. We need to have a talk...
  5. Picked up my new (used) truck from the Chev dealership. They replaced the DEF tank as a warranty item. GM appears to be having DEF tank issues on the Duramax trucks.
  6. Good words of advice, Jeff. I am glad you found something that you are happy with. I know after reading your many posts that you really loved your silverado aside from the vibration issues, but understand perfectly why you would end up having to switch brands. Glad you still hang around and chime in though.
  7. I'm sorry, Sarah. We all must cross that bridge sooner or later in life as we get older, things just stop working or don't work as well as they did in years past. But have faith, we are all here to help and support one another!
  8. How many miles you got on her now?
  9. What makes you think they aren't trying?
  10. She looks brand new, Ryan.
  11. in the article: "The current engine has more than 250,000 miles on it. The original engine was sold to a race car builder and was still running at the time with 500,000 miles." So... why did they get rid of the original engine then?
  12. I'd give them $3000 for it... if I had $3000 that's a great looking truck for that many miles.. but then again that photo is probably not of the actual truck so never mind...
  13. I'm sad that the dealer only offered them $1000 for it. That's loyalty for ya I guess.
  14. original engine? 3rd rebuilt tranny?
  15. Yeah, but it's a Ford.
  16. We need to have a talk.
  17. mm hmm. If i told you some of my previous names the Mods would certainly recognize me and could vouch for that. But seriously! nice try!
  18. GOOD. I was going to say, any company that lays off people arond the holidays flat out pisses me off. Congrats on owning the truck! Have a drink on me and give her a wax job.
  19. Son, I've been comming to this site off and on since a few months after this place was created, I've been a member of this site thru 4 GM trucks i've purchased and owned, each with their own set of problems, GMT-800s, and GMT-900s, yet there is always someone like you who pops up every once in awhile and cries and cries and cries about how bad their issue is and all that crap about paying $40,000+ for a vehicle and blah blah blah. Was I happy when I had issues with my trucks? No. Was I mad at GM? Sure. But when everything was said and done, it was my choice to purchase the vehicle and accept the concequences of doing so. Having annoying little things that pop up that may not be easily repaired, or even repaired period is one of those concequences. The only thing I am making light of are the cry babies like you who keep on crying and crying and crying and crying foul this and foul that and woe is me and all that other stupid childish crap. Give it a rest already.
  20. rain is good for Cali. Serious!?
  21. ::shrugs:: life is about choices and risks.. There are no guarantees in life, there is just life. personally though, I no longer buy new.
  22. Thank you. Never touched that crap in my life.
  23. You've been smoking a bit too much pot, son.
  24. You know.. It's strange how I've gone to a Chevy and GMC dealership that are right next to each other (owned by sepearate companies) and when I asked the service advisors regarding issues with the new 2014 Silverado/Sierra, they both have said aside from the recalls, they see very few issues with them thus far. When asked about the "shake/vibration" issues, both looked at me with a "what are you talking about?" type of look and said they have yet to see one come in for issues described as that save for an ocasional out of balance issue that is usually a result of the owner hitting a curb or something. Thus far we have 254 pages on this topic, and I am guessing maybe 200 if even that many people have said they have the shake/vibe issue on this forum alone. Since most folks will take to the internet to do a search on a issue and this topic would certainly be at the top of the search engine results, I think if this was a wide spread problem like a few on here seem to think it is, we'd be seeing a lot more activity here. The issue is not happening to every 2014 GM truck like some think it is and act as though it is. I'm no statistic person, but I truely wonder just how many people have this issue, out of all the 2014 Sierras and Silverados that have been sold.
