  1. Really debating getting a set of these. I would really like to ride in a truck before hand though. I do think the front could be a bit stiffer, however I think the rear is stiff enough. I think these would help since the front's would increase the springs pre-load without affecting the rear.
  2. When you guys say the third setting do you mean third counting from bottom to top or vice versa?
  3. Well don't be a dick about it. If you didn't want someones opinion then maybe you should of kept this to a private message. Black Bear is still a relatively small business operation and they likely do not have the man power to man a phone line. Controlling all communication through email is probably easier for the to handle. I've personally sent several pm's to Jennabear and always get a response. If you insists on having instant communication with your tuner go out and find a brick and mortar performance shop that will tune your truck for you. Just be ready to bay $200 every time you want to get strapped into the dyno to adjust your tune.
  4. I'm really debating whether or not I should invest in some American Racing Headers for the truck. I feel that they would free up a considerable amount of power along side a tune, BUT, am worried they will be too loud to daily drive. I know a few members have ARH on here and would like some input as to how they are on a day to day basis. Here are some videos though; 2014 6.2 ARH and Corsa Catback 2014 5.3 ARH and Corsa Catback
  5. Those wheels!!! Dam they look good. I'd never seen them in that size before. Truck looks sick man.
  6. You are reaching mighty far there. It would be far less of a reach to say that GM put all its cards in the redesigned direct injection engines to increase power and milage in order to keep up with the competition. Dodge decided that a transmission with 8 speeds and a redesigned 5.7 Hemi would meet their needs. And Ford went a different route with their 3.5 Ecoboost with direct injection. So is the EPA pushing the manufacturers to achieve higher mpg numbers? Yes, but there is far more pressure from the competition to increase power and mpg numbers as well.
  7. Do I need a windows pc to get the AutoCal going? Or is preprogrammed with a tune? I have a Macbook so I might need need to get Bootcamp going.
  8. Well this issue is not specific to our trucks. If you look around at any other car/truck forum everyone is having the same issues. Over on the F150 forums, this is an issue on both the 5.0 and the 3.5 Ecoboost. Dodge, same thing. More than likely manufacturers test the system and decide that the oil entering the engine is at an acceptable rate. At the same time on older non direct injection engines this was less of an issue since fuel would regularly coat and clean the valves.
  9. hahhaha, I thought I was either too stupid to do this correctly or just a random occurrence. But this does happen to me more than I would like to admit. I constantly have to play with the pump my either putting it in all the way or backing it out until it stays on. Its annoying to say the least and really only made me angry this morning when it was 20 degrees out and I could not get it to stay on.
  10. A tune will adjust several parameters on the truck such as, shift points, timing, toque management, fuel tables, afm (v4 mode) and such. These can be fine tuned to give the truck more performance and better drivability. The factory tune on these trucks is pretty conservative and really favors fuel economy, sacrificing overall performance. The handheld tuners as they are referred to on here, Diablo, Hypertech, Superchips, Bully Dog, all adjust several of these parameters in your truck. The problem most find with these is that its a general tune designed to work for several vehicles so performance gains can be hit or miss.. Some like Diablo and Hypertech are pretty popular on here and seem to have favorable results. However, there are tuners like Blackbear performance that use a software called EFI Live. This is one of the best tuning softwares out there and is also used to tune practically any kind of vehicle that uses obd 2. Blackbear will specifically make a tune for your vehicle either by dyno testing or using a log created by your own vehicles sensors. They will then read this log and see where things can be changed or added, and using your input will create a personal tune for your vehicle. So if you have a headers, a full 3" exhaust, intake and maybe a cam, they can tune your truck to make the post power on these modifications. Now there are many other people or companies that do this. For example if you go with any of the Diablo tuners a guy called Lew will also do a similar service as Blackbear.
  11. Lol, you in DFW? Its been pouring here all afternoon.
  12. You guys suck. Just placed my order
  13. Really glad you put the front lip spoiler back on. I know a bunch of guys on here like it without but I think it takes away from the looks of the front end. Truck looks great man.
  14. Oh wow. Do you guys also adjust and tune shift parameters? I really dislike how the transmission is always upshifting so early under partial throttle. If so I might end up ordering one today.
  15. I think it looks good man. If you are iffy on them I would try and paint them all black. I think they would look even better.
  16. Has anyone here ever used the Livernois tuner for the 5.3 or 6.2 trucks? They make some pretty good claims; http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/products/LME%252dAIW-2014-Silverado-V8-Tuner.html They are pretty popular with the Ecoboost guys and seem to have pretty good tunes. They also say they tune the transmission for better responsiveness. At $600 its less than an Autocal with a Black Bear tune ~$750. Would love some input on this. Here is a 2014 5.3 they did with a Whipple supercharger and other mods.
  17. I would just get insurance to cover this one if I were you. I don't know what your overall standing with your insurance is though.
  18. I asked him to weld it. Its a $150 tip, I didn't want it to magically disappear one of these days.
  19. In my particular setup since I was having them remove the resonator, and I wanted the tips to look a certain way, the guy ran a new 3" pipe from the muffler out.
  20. Your 22's are gonna rust out just sitting in your garage. Send them over my way and I'll make sure they get some much needed wear on them...
  21. VERY nice truck man. Those At2's look fantastic on those wheels.
  22. hahaha, from the picture they look like some Methods or similar type wheel. Very nice! Wildest weather my truck sees is heavy rain here in the DFW.
