  1. As nice as the hids are to have, I have been having issues with my 35W morimoto kit from TRS. As of late, in the morning when I turn on the lights the driver side often does not fire up first try. I must put the truck in park, and turn the lights on and off and until they both come on. Seems like a ballast issue so I have a claim with TRS and they are more than willing to replace the ballast. However, I've had a new issue that started a few nights ago where my lights will be on and I'm driving and they randomly go out altogether. Sometimes they come back on by themselves after a few minutes, if not I have to pull over and put the truck in park and turn them on and off until they fire up. Not safe and very annoying. Any idea what could be causing this? All my connections seem ok. I emailed TRS asking to just replace the whole kit since its obviously more than just ballasts, but no answer yet. This isn't my first morimoto kit, and the ones I've had in the past have never done this and been good quality. I did the FXR 3.0 retrofit on my last truck (F150) and bought another FXR 3.0 kit thinking I might need to do another F150 but ended up getting the Sierra. Unfortunately I got the 2.5" projector, anyone do the retrofit without the 3" projector? I may take on the Sierra retrofit in the spring but in the meantime want to get this plug and play kit figured out. Appreciate any suggestions thx guys
  2. Nicely done on the grill, truck looks good
  3. love this setup. Any chance a 285/55/22 would fit with just a 2.5" level with 1" block in the back with + offset rim? Or would I need to stick with 285/50/22 to avoid major rub issues
  4. Well I fed the wring through the hole in the grommet a few times and couldn't see anything coming through to the cab. Definitely fed enough wiring for it to make it into the cab, so not sure where it is going. Any tips advice or pics as to where the wiring should come through? I couldn't get it done
  5. Thanks, I am going to do it this way. Hope the wires feed through the grommet tab ok and don't get lost in there somewhere on the way into the cab. Mike thanks for your info but I'd rather not do any drilling and messing around splicing in the console I just installed my duallies in the foglights. Excellent mod and light output is great. I spliced directly into the factory fog wiring. I'm going to use the red light up rocker switch that came with the rigids duallies on my light bar harness and mount it beside the steering wheel where the tilt/telescope lever is, so I don't have to hack the dash or anything. Saw someone else on here do that and it looked clean and he said the switch fit tight
  6. Did you ever figure out how to disable the auto lights? I have an SLT Sierra, so I'm fine with running lights or leds always on, but I have an hid kit in there and the auto feature is way too sensitive. Even when its not very dark out and I unlock my truck the headlights come on, then I have to wait for them to go off, then start the truck and they're on again. Going to kill the hids. Is there at least a way I can disable the headlights from coming on when I unlock the truck when its 'dark' enough out to trigger the auto function
  7. Looks good. Where's the best place to run your wiring from the bars and into the cab to mount the switch?
  8. Bass thx for the pics and the write up, I may give it a shot soon. I came from a 55W 5K FXR3.0 on my F150 to replacing the stock halogens in my Sierra with a Morimoto 35W 4300K kit and its not the same as the retro, although better than stock I have another 55W FXR3.0 kit at home as I was planning to do my next F150 but then bought a Sierra instead, so all I would need is a canbus and 9006 relay. Did you use a 2.5" or 3" projector? I think I have a 2.5" and if so might be a hard to line up to the factory projector mounts which already needed some work
  9. Looks good nice choice. I had the 700 on my F150 with power lock it was great. It was between that and the undercover se lux, and I ended up ordering the lux last week. Its easy to remove and cheaper, hope I like it as much as the 700 though
