  1. If you have nothing else in that area you shouldn't have any issues. One of my brothers has an 1100 watt kicker amp in that compartment in his tahoe which is even smaller and he has not had any overheating issues. The nice thing about it is like I said there is a channel on each side and in between the seat backs and itself for running wires over to the factory amp for signal on the left side behind that vented panel you see in the picture. If you were really wanting to go hardcore you could probably take a router and route in some small venting for air release but it is not air tight so air is moving in and out of it already. What is the setup you are doing? Amp brand and size? Sub brand and size? Box set-up?
  2. What I mean by the lower cargo area is do you have this? lower cargo area picture
  3. There are a few of us who have done it. Do you have the lower deck cargo storage compartment? There is a channel that you can run wiring over to a converter depending on what version of Bose you have. Let us know if you have any questions. Three of us for sure have done it.
  4. Parts list is one post above yours. But I plastidip painted the center part to make it a black emblem.
  5. Awesome. You have a pic of it? Parts list updated thanks to rusty503. Part numbers are listed throughout the posts however here is a consolidation: Engine Cover: Gm part number: 12643295 (2014 5.3 Silverado came with studs already in place for these covers) Chevrolet Emblem: GM part number 12620295 GMC Emblem: GM part number 12620296 Studs: GM part number 11611691 (some of the 5.3 engines do not have the studs 2014+)

  7. Awesome expansion of the original. I will be checking on my new suburban if this is possible as well with the studs. Thanks for adding the new part numbers for the studs as well. Original Thread
  8. Not 100% sure yet but there are multiple ideas floating through he mind of taller nature where that cover won't fit anymore. Have to see what the long term plan is though for this new beauty. Have some break in miles to put in first though.
  9. Glad it made it safe. Make sure to post up the final install of it after you get it all done.
  10. I am going a new route with my 2016. First to contact me for my cover and blacked logo emblem gets it at $50 shipped. SOLD.
  11. Well I am making the move to a 2016 due to a sweet deal I can't pass up with my dealership. Back to 0 miles and full warranty. Since I will be going to the 2016 I wanted to confirm the studs needed to move my cover to the new truck are GM 11611691 at a quantity of 2 correct?
  12. Well since my brother and I figured out all the engine cover details we will have to put our heads together for a secondary battery tray idea. I have a couple already bouncing around in my head. -Power adder -Electronic support -storage -maybe something exotic...maybe something I never heard of before...whoops got off on a tangent there. Stay tuned.
  13. Is that a silver Silverado? Curious how far off the color is? Mine is still holding on strong and well. Emblem too.
  14. If the hood and fenders can handle the paint temps than so can the cover. The cover does not get as hot as you would think. I have a black truck and left it the stock silver the cover came in. Do what you like.
  15. Crazy this thread still is going strong. Guess my brother and I did good. DBcooper this fits the 6.2 or the 5.3 and mine is on my 5.3 as well as my brothers.
  16. Below is the thread that has my exhaust sound. One of the videos has an odd audio overtone going on like its in a tunnel for some reason. But you get to hear the pfffffffft sound. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/175025-custom-exhaustblow-air-through-tube-sound/
  17. Glad to see a lot of folks are enjoying the new covers. My step-brother (LuciasMaximus) helped out as well on this so not all the credit goes to me here. He did a paint job on his to make it black which turned out solid as well.
  18. For those of you wanting to spice up your engine bay a little bit. See my thread here:http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/164105-engine-bay-got-you-downclean-it-up-with-a-new-cover/
  19. I absolutely love these set-ups. Exactly what I want to do to mine. But just going to black out the pipe instead of having tips.
  20. Looks solid Jimmy. Glad that GMC version worked out.
  21. The Chevy emblems we did have are pressed aluminum so they look nice.
  22. As long as it fits within the drillable space that it can clip in or maybe epoxy or super glue in its up to you. I posted an actual straight stick on version that would work.
  23. Anyone done the GMC logo I linked up above or found another option? curious to see some GM version photos.
