  1. Thanks, I will check it out, I was wondering where I would mount a couple switches for lights, that location just makes sense, all nice and neat!
  2. How difficult is it to get that panel off? That is a smart mounting location.
  3. No issues so far, no discoloring due to super cold temps. The kit I have is very good quality and I think it will last me a long time.
  4. You can get the phillips ones at autozone or some other parts dealer for much much less, just look for the 9012 bulbs over the HIR-2's
  5. Here is what mine look like at night:
  6. Got the same kit, easy install but went with the 5500K lights. So much better than the original lights.
  7. Interesting, I was just at the dealer yesterday as my thermostat housing had cracked and it drained out 2/3rds of my coolant. They never mentioned that, they fixed the thermostat and its connections and refilled my coolant. I was up in Maine for the holiday weekend so it wasn't my normal dealer, but I will check with the dealer in NH where I bought the truck and see what they know of this.
  8. That doesn't look too bad for a mounting bracket. I would consider them as an option.
  9. I just swapped out my LED's with a Morimoto Kit from The Retrofit Source (https://www.theretrofitsource.com/hid-systems/morimoto-elite-hid-system-sierra-low-beam.html), excellent kit and an easy install. Routing wires and mounting ballasts are a pain but for the most part an excellent kit. Throws out a lot of light, I can see the ditches and the high beams throw down a lot more light. I still need to adjust the headlights so the beams are crisp and look like factory but that should only take a few minutes. Got the 5500K system with 35W ballasts, matches the LEDs on the front of the lights, I may try the 6500K bulbs in the future but for now I am happy.
  10. Yeah I stopped driving my truck and pulled my Mini out of winter storage, so I can drive safely at night. The Mini is full LED headlights, fogs and parking lights. Such a big difference.
  11. Oh I thought they were still the 12V with a higher voltage. Hmm I wonder what is causing the dimming over time.
  12. That is because of the higher voltage after the TSB, it is wearing out the bulbs quicker.
  13. it is at first but over time it yellows out more and more.
  14. Here is what my LED lights look like at night, both low and high beams. No fogs on, just the headlights. Got a couple rouge spots in high beam mode but I am satisfied with what I have until a better option comes up.
  15. I feel for you, I don't drive the truck very much myself either, mostly a winter vehicle or when I need the cargo space. The truck is basically a second vehicle. I was out there tonight tweaking the lights a bit to get the beam pattern just right. Got something I can live with and matches the standard cutoffs. It is much brighter now and I can see well without having to put on my fogs. I have other stuff I want to do with the truck so this is fine for now, will revisit later once the truck has been out for a while and more aftermarket light products come out. However what I find funny is my Mini Cooper S, new was about 16K less than the truck when you compare prices new for each. It has the full LED light setup (DRL, parking lights, Headlights, Fogs and some parts of the rear lights). It manages to throw out a nice pattern and light up the way so much better. I know my truck will never be as good as that light setup but if I can get it close I would be happy.
