  1. Even if you do tow moderately heavy loads fairly often I still think it's a good option. Anything over 8 or 9k lbs in a half ton is a little iffy imho. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  2. That's very true. My RST is a very nicely equipped pickup, and really affordable. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  3. I'm averaging 19.5 with just about as bad of driving routes as you can imagine. 24 on the highway, 15-16 towing the boat. The 3.0 is cool and will get definitely get better mileage. But you're also paying 5-8k more out the door and diesel is more expensive. The ROI would be many years out I'm sure. If ever depending on how far you drive annually. The 2.7 is kind of a gas version of a baby diesel. Peak torque at low RPM, higher torque than hp. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  4. I 100% believe that. I had a 2014 that got better mileage than my 2017. My 2017 was also an LTZ with bigger wheels, which probably had something to do with it. That 8 speed was a clunky turd. I still love the 2.7 and am getting probably 20% better overall mileage. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  5. I have a boat that's maybe 4000lbs fully loaded and I get better mileage towing with my 2.7 than I did with my 2017 5.3. I love my 2.7, I'll probably never go back to a 5.3. I get better mileage and I like the drive a lot better. All of that low torque just makes scootin around feel pretty effortless. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  6. Lol, that seems odd. You have wireless charging and don't need it. He has wireless android auto but no wireless charging. Dumb. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  7. Damn. Finally! Not sure that possible but it'll be nice to finally have that eventually. The cord is annoying. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  8. For what it's worth my wife's 2020 LT Traverse has the convenience 2 package and still only has power drivers seat Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  9. There might be. You can probably check through the builder on Chevy's website. But in reality, 99% of the RSTs on the lot will probably only be power driver's side. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  10. Pretty sure mine is just drivers side. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  11. Me too man! I love mine. It's real quick, just floats around effortlessly. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  12. Yes, yes it is. I've had 3 Silverados since 2014. 2 - 5.3s and this 2.7. I enjoy driving the 2.7 soooo much more. The torque is fantastic. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  13. I wouldn't be! Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  14. I tow a 19ft jet boat, maybe 3500lbs with gear, beer and gas. Doesn't break a sweat and gets better mileage than my 2017 ltz with the 5.3 did while towing it. They're really great, especially for towing lighter things. The low end torque is great. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  15. I tow a 4000lb boat with coolers of beer and weekend supplies all the time and towing mileage is as good or better than my 2017 5.3 was. Usually in the 15mpg range towing that. The thing is great, I'm averaging over 19mpg lifetime, only had it since February but I'm WFH so my driving is about as inefficient as can be. 3 mile round trips to menards and the grocery store. My last pickup averaged 16.5 lifetime. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  16. I had a 2017 ltz 5.3 and the transmission in that was super clunky, would clunk and lunge all the damn time. This one has been substantially better. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  17. Lol okay. Based on hitting peak torque at 1400 rpms? That's so archaic. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  18. The diesel weighs less than the 2.7 even? That's interesting, I know that was one of the reasons mentioned for the 2.7 having so much less towing than the 5.3 given similar-ish power output. It weighs a lot less. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  19. I'm super impressed with mine. Honestly drives a lot like a baby diesel with the low end torque but with the benefits of gas. And yea, I was thinking the same thing. My '17 LTZ had the max towing package but there's no way I'd feel comfortable towing 11k pounds or whatever that was rated at. Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  20. Not really, it's similar torque to the 5.3. Why does it matter how many cylinders it has if it's putting out similar torque? I have the 2020 and that thing can definitely tow more than it's rated at Sent from my SM-N981U using Tapatalk
  21. Haven't needed one yet but I'll have the dealer do it anyway. 1 free one and I'm lazy [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  22. Yea the ecoboost needs quite a bit higher revving to hit its torque numbers. I honestly think the 2.7 is designed to run similar to the 3.0 duramax. It's really torquey and it's essentially ready at idle. As for the lag you really only notice it when you hammer on it but I never even think about it anymore. I've grown really fond of this motor actually. Hopefully you can get your hands on one sooner than later! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  23. I had a 2017 5.3 and your numbers sound right. Lifetime was like 17mpg. I have a roughly 50:50 city/highway commute and live in a cold climate so I warned it up in the winter. But yea, your 15 minute test drive was pretty indicative of the 5.3 fuel efficiency. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  24. I would imagine just music but I'm not actually sure tbh. Never used mine [emoji23] Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  25. Yea, looks like the 4wd 2006 4.8 was rated at 14/18. 21 on a good day is probably reasonable. Did you ever drive the 2.7? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
