  1. I found out extended warranties won't cover anything to do with emissions and fuel delivery on a diesel. Those are excluded items.
  2. Most all of those "bright lights" bother us older folks. Y'all that run them are lucky I'm retired......or we'd be liable to have a visit!?
  3. A lot of you guys that don't use Tow/Haul when you're towing something bigger than your lawnmower, may have durability/longevity issues if you keep that truck long enough. Anything that works harder will tend not to last as long.
  4. Mine came with one too. I looked it over and decided to just put a LP with my favorite college team on there, with a tinted cover, and roll with it.
  5. Except when it comes to emissions. It's a Federal Offense, go ask them.
  6. Hey I'm just sharing what my dealer told me. Take it for what it's worth, go ask your own dealer, whatever, I don't really care.
  7. That is correct. I will choose to believe the dealer, who is family and would gladly do whatever I asked him to do if we could get away with it, and GM over some dude on the internet. Just because some people believe something doesn't make it so. Go talk to your dealer......I wouldn't take me (some dude on the internet) as a final authority either. But I am sharing what the dealer I use says. Now your dealer may do whatever you want, like mine, but if he hooks your vehicle up to the computer and it records the emissions have been tampered with, your dealer isn't going to be paid for your warranty work. FWIW
  8. No sir, any emissions modifications is automatic warranty denial. Maybe not by your dealer, but if he plugs it in to the computer and it detects it, your done. GM will deny you.
  9. A catch can is considered a modification of the emissions system. Automatic voiding of your warranty the dealer tells me. Just a fyi.
  10. I forget what year they redid the octane thing. Ours used to be 93 here, then it dropped to 91. New standards took over I guess. Maybe we dropped in elevation!?
  11. I'm gonna guess you no longer have the truck?
  12. Range Technologies has the answer for that annoying feature.
  13. No name brand non-ethanol 87 gets the best mileage for me and that is all my older vehicles get, well two of them require premium, but still, non-ethanol for them too. The newer vehicles it doesn't matter, any 87 will do. I dump some Techtron in now and then and have never had a fuel related problem. When I am away from home and traveling, I stick to the places that sell the top tier stuff, or hit a Pilot, Flying J, etc.
  14. Mine worked well on my 2015.........wonder if they can reprogram it?? I do not like the fact there is no indicator letting you know when AFM is activated. I use to just drive mine in 5th gear most of them. AFM didn't kick in, but I've never confirmed if that is true for the 2020.
  15. Two problems with that antenna. Performance being one because it is short compared to a full 1/4 wave. And, I occasionally run a amp. That antenna won't hold up if you hit it with much power. If I ever get around to getting my license, I'll put a 2 meter radio in and I will use NMO for that.
  16. Yes, the only problems I saw with those antennas was if the hole was drilled a little big and they couldn’t get a good bite. Never knew of good antenna for 11 meters that used the NMO. There were some, functional at best, and most couldn’t take more that a few watts of power.
  17. Did you use a hole saw bit? I’ve always took the head liner down and shined up the underside of the roof to ensure a good ground, plus the type of antenna I was installing required mounting from underneath anyway. That was for CB installations. My work car I drove for about 25 years (had the big ol’ whup antenna with 6” spring before that) had several of those antennas like you installed. Occasionally had problems with them, but not often. I’ve got all the ham equipment, just never have taken the test although I’ve intended to do so.
  18. How far down did you take the headliner, and how easy was it?
  19. Nothing wrong with mag mounts if you get a good one as far as performance is concerned. I've run the Wilson 5000 and 1000 both on a mag mount and put 300-400 watts thru them. I don't like mag mounts because the coax situation and if you don't remove every so often, they will rust underneath the magnet. Much neater to just drill a hole and be done with.
  20. I haven't yet, but I plan on it. Although, I don't know why. Nobody is on there much anymore, and most of those that are aren't worth the effort to talk to. I inherited a friend's CB shop when he died. I've got more radios and equipment than I know what to do with. I don't have a problem with drilling a hole and mounting it right in the middle of the roof. They make a plug to fill the hole should you decide to remove it. GMC dealer said if that rubber plug is installed, it won't hurt the trade-in value at all......if they even see it. Getting in the garage is the only issue I'd have with it.
  21. I like it! Did the red pop out, or did you have to tape around it?
  22. Got a friend that has worked at a GM dealer his whole life. He says the demos always run the best. And you know how those salesmen drive them. He never noticed them in for more repairs than any of the others on down the line either. He breaks his in that way. I broke mine in the same way I broke my new Harley in. You dog them around and they will always be a dog.
  23. I understand that. I used mine differently when I had the ReTrax as well. Put the rubber gasket around the tailgate, and it was totally waterproof.
  24. I had the ReTrax powered roll up w/remote tonneau on my 15 1/2 ton. It was nice. Didn't put one on my 3500 Duramax because of the 5th wheel hitch. When I considered it for this 2020 1/2 ton, I decided I'd just keep my truck a truck and not try and turn it into a wagon/SUV. Toolbox, bed mat, done.
