  1. Yes stop start still working-also have the factory switch that allows it to be turned off in a2020 -only 39k miles, but out of warranty.
  2. Actually have a new ACdelco battery because of it going on 5 years old. Every thing I read says that the camera is bad or possibly may be able the recalibrate/ restart the system -looks like a dealer only option to sort it out?
  3. 2020 Sierra Denali 6.2 I have lost adaptive cruse control. Lane assist and rear view camera mirror. Looking for help one last time before taking my truck to the dealer. Tried pulling the battery cable off for 15 minutes and no change. I pulled just the negative cable, should I pull the positive too? Some say to leave off for 15 minutes, but I saw another that said 30 minutes -so should I go longer this time?
  4. Thanks- guess I go to the dealer
  5. I also tried taking off the negative battery cable, with the headlight switch on, for over 20 minutes and no change.
  6. Tried that and no luck. Thanks for the recommendation! Anything else I can try or do I have to give in and go to the dealer
  7. 2020 Sierra 1500 Denali 6.2 About a week ago I had a strange bunch of error issues, no power steering, running boards going backwards when the door was opened etc. Never tried other features like active cruise control or lane assist. I thought it was an old battery issue, but found out on this forum that it could be a bad grounding strap -that was what the problem was and it seemed to fix all of the problems. It was the braided one on ps from the frame to the firewall. Since many on here and on the Corvette forum says to change the battery in 3-5 years to keep from having problems, I decided to change the battery. Replaced with the correct ac/ delco battery and everything still seemed fine. But, I just took it on the first highway trip and I have two problems: 1 adaptive cruise control temporarily unavailable and when I try regular cruise I get nothing. 2 lane assist is not working and when I use the switch it does nothing -no message regarding on or off. I didn’t time how long the cables were off, but I’m thinking that it wasn’t long enough to do a reset ? Maybe the voltage drops that happened before I replaced the grounding strap, had also goofed up acc and lane assist? Should I take off the battery ground cable for 15 minutes to see if that resets it or is there something else that I should try?
  8. I actually bought the factory replacement. It’s GM pn 84498265. My local dealer had it in stock -it was $22.00.
  9. Installed the new cab to chassis grounding strap and ALL gremlins are gone, Like others, the braided strap was oxidized to just about powder -only a about 1/4 of the strands were left, but all were toast. Thanks to all that pointed me in the right direction!
  10. EddDee, That’s exactly what I found when I looked at the braided ground strap on my truck. Haven’t changed it out yet hopefully in the next day or two. I’ll get back with the results. THANKS!!
  11. 2020 Siera 1500 Denali 37k miles Today I started getting a bunch of messages have check engine light service trailer brake system service power steering -drive with care service side detection system power steering cutting out at low speed open door and the power running boards are opening backwards is this a change the battery moment? or take it to the dealer -I have no warranty
  12. I have had the same experience with both of my Denali 1500s. I had to replace front and rear pads and rotors on my 2015 at 40,000 miles. My 2020 has the performance brake option and I just had to replace the front Brembo pads and rotors at 36,000 mile @ a do it myself parts cost of $1,200.00. Not sure what GM is doing to end up with an inferior braking system, when this never seemed to be an issue.
  13. The penetrating oil spray was a temporary for me. Even when I’d work them each time, they were still slow. When I took the arms off, I could see that seals kept much lubrication from reaching the pins. The build up was a weird film-but once fine paper cleaned up and lubed, everything worked like new.
  14. I was having problems with the power running board on the drivers side of my 2020 Denali. It would start out and then go back in after about an inch. I did some spray lube on the arm attachment points and could get it to work after assisting manually. But after a couple of days it did the same thing. Googled and found the attached, which has the repairs for this problem and others that are common to the power running boards. I did the arm removal, cleanup and lube recommendation, which required no parts and took a little over an hour. This running board works perfect and just as smoothly and fast as the passenger side. Thanks to the crew that posted this great help source. https://www.camerasource.com/industry-news/gm-articulating-running-board-repair/
  15. I have a 2020 Denali that came with the Bridgestone 22” tires, which were pretty shot by only 35k miles. Went with Michelin Defenders as the best AS option I could find. Have about 2,500 miles on them now and they are great. Much better wet traction and handling.
  16. The big brakes definitely have a little more stopping power than my 2015 that was basically the same Denali with the 6.2 also -that one was used for mostly highway, but the brakes and rotors were shot at 50k miles. The worst thing, for both trucks, was how severely rusted the rotors were. Maybe the upstate ny salt on the thruway and Route 81 was real intense -I believe that they started using a liquid brine like crap. So, the my take away is that I gained some improvement in braking and look awesome -but probably would not option them on my next truck. Also, I wash my truck all the time, so the salt never stayed on my truck for more than a day or two at most -if they don’t salt where you live, you’ll probably get more mileage out of the brakes.
  17. Luckily I have part number now on my receipt They look and work great. Not sure what kind of mileage you would get out of Powerstop or others, but there would be more pad options.
  18. I’ve only had one other vehicle eat brakes and rotors this quickly -my 2015 Sierra 1500 with standard brakes did the same at 45k miles. When I checked on what to expect from Brembo brakes -they say 35-40k. I checked all of the manufacturers of brakes and none of them listed the performance brake option size, which is over 16”-even called Powerstop which is what I put on my Z06 to get rid of the Brembo brake dust. Like I said, I really love my truck and will have to live with the brakes
  19. So I did the brake job -it was actually hard to find the rotors and pads. Finally gave my vin to Flow and they hooked me up. I don’t tow or haul large loads and was amazed that the pad on one side was down to metal and the other side was just a thin film. The funny part is that I never heard any wear sensor and because you lose the thickness monitor with the change to Brembo pads, I had no warning -the brakes actually felt fine and the only way I found out is that the truck failed NYS inspection.
  20. So I love my 2020 Denali and that it came from the factory with the Brembo performance brake option. 36,000 miles later, I still love my truck, but not too fond of the brakes. Early on, they started to pulse and they resurfaced the rotors and it was fine. Today with 36k miles, the pads are toast and, since they were resurfaced once, need to replace the rotors too. GM is the only place you can get replacements -no manufacturer of any type, has replacements. So even with a discount on the GM parts, Flow Performance, I’m looking at about $1,200.00 delivered. OK, done venting, still love my truck -just gotta do a brake job this weekend.
  21. I have it on my 2020. The dealer added it after I had it for a while and it is not extremely loud, but got a little louder with time. The resonators and all were still on the performance exhaust, the biggest visual difference is that it is 3” diameter.
  22. I had the rear window leak on my 2020 Denali -actually the 3 year anniversary is right now. I had my first leak sighting late last year. They resealed it and it leaked a little while later, so they replaced the entire rear window. Last month it started leaking again. After about a week, they replaced the rear window and seal again. So far so good. It was a PIA, but glad I still had warranty. This is still my favorite truck ever.
  23. Thanks the wheels are factory and the height is also. Good point, I may ask them about future coverage if the leak isn’t gone this time.
  24. Glad my GM warranty is still in effect -at least for about 10 more days So my rear window leaked last year. They resealed and it leaked again, so they next replaced the rear window. It seemed OK until about a week ago, when I noticed a small leak again. I dropped it off last Thursday and they tried sealing it again-tested it and found still a pinhole type leak…so the are replacing the rear window and window seal again today. I guess this is what warranties are for and it has been a long but smooth process, so crossing my fingers that this fixes it for good. Still love this truck!
