  1. I love it..not too light and not black. I've always loved a dark brown in shoes, bags, etc. I will say it has a little more gray that I expected but it's still the best color that's offered, in my opinion.
  2. I have a 2021 Yukon Denali and after a car wash and back to highway speeds, there is a pretty consistent tapping/flapping noise coming from outside top of truck. I believe I have narrowed it down to the strips that run down both sides of truck under the roof rail frame. If you look at them right by the windshield, the front of them are pretty loose. I have to think air is getting under them and moving around the excess water until it's gone (usually 3-5 mins at 70mph). Has anyone experienced this?
  3. I had this occur on my 2021 Yukon Denali and the dealer updated some software that has resolved it.
  4. Can it be done permanently? It's so annoying, especially for such a large engine. I get that I can push the button every time I get in but does anyone know if I can just disable?
  5. I've always liked the dark brown interior with the white exterior. In my previous 3 Yukon Denalis, I went with black because I had such a hard time locating the Dark Atmosphere interior. With the 2021s, I jumped on the Dark Walnut/Gray because I dont expect that to be very common. The lighter beige is darker than last year but still too light and black is......still black. I also didnt care for the wood trim in the black interiors with the new choices. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2021yukondenali/
  6. It's a piece of cake. Take the two plastic pieces off from around the mirror, unplug the plug on the left side and tap the purple and white for hot and black and white for ground. Done. https://www.facebook.com/groups/2021yukondenali/
  7. Thanks and no, these were with the Mavic 2 Pro and I also shoot with the Inspire 2. Ground shots were with the Sony A9II, 24mm GM and the 135mm GM.
  8. It's really great and a pretty decent step up from the previous model years. I owned 2 16s and an 18 (all 3 Yukon Denalis) and it's good to see them progress like they have with the technology. I have pretty much either had BMWs or GMCs the past few years and just came out of a 2017 X5 x50i M-Sport. Different beasts, no doubt, but I like how much more room I have. We have two labs, a 4-bike hitch mount tray carrier and a large Yakima cargo carrier so the Yukon will be much more suited for that. Love all of the cameras on it, especially the front cameras that automatically activate as you pull into a parking spot or closer to a bumper in a drive thru. The top down 360 cam also activates. The rear view mirror cam is solid as well. It's got 3 zoom levels on it and you can tilt the camera up and down from the mirror itself. I am hardwiring my radar detector today and am going to try and figure out how to disable auto start/stop permanently. It's pretty annoying. In my X5, you could disable it for good until you enabled it again. The rear entertainment system looks nice but if I can't get any streaming content to them, they will go unused by my two daughters. Pulling a Fire Stick off of a TV in my house to try out and will tap into one of their 15gb hotspot connections. It's a very quiet ride which I greatly appreciate. Not sure if you ever saw this or heard of these issues with previous models but I took a chance on the 2021, especially not driving it before I bought it. The bet seems to have paid off. https://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/12/theres-a-big-issue-with-gms-suvs-and-no-one-seems-to-have-a-solution.html I also created this group specific to these new SUVs. Check it out - https://www.facebook.com/groups/2021yukondenali/
  9. Just got this SUV and in the past have pulled down the top console and connected wiring to a sunroof switch or some other accessory switch (I cant recall) for the power for a radar detector overhead and attached to my windshield. How can I determine how to do that with the 2021s?
  10. My 4th Yukon Denali since 2016 and this one takes the cake. I wasn’t in a tremendous rush to get one but after realizing that there were only 4 within 500 miles of me AND one of them had the dark brown interior, I was in. I was going to catch an 8am flight from Richmond to Newark, grab the truck and drive it home but the owner of the dealership in NJ offered to have it delivered. Deal. I’m leasing it so didn’t really care that it would have 300+ miles on it from the start. The guy was on time, stopped to have it washed again and filled up with gas, was well prepared and as nice as could be. I put him in an Uber to the airport for his return trip and started to dive in. Today, I detailed it to my own liking including three rounds of Zaino and then took it out for some pics this afternoon. Glad to answer any questions! 11. Sharp. I just pulled trigger on a combo that was hard to find the past few years...white tricoat and the darker brown interior. Delivering to me from 400 miles away tomorrow afternoon.
  12. Curious if you got a chance to see any other interiors in person. I have always like the Dune and the black as the Cocoa Shale was a bit too light for me. Not terribly fond of the wood in the black interior. Also, for the rear entertainment, seems perfect for young children but for teens with ipads/phones, are they even going to use that? (I ask as a father of two teens). Last, assuming those are the standard premium wheels that will likely be on most Denalis? I like them just fine but if you recall the previous MY, GMC put the smaller less attractive wheels on some of the builds. Making sure these are the "good ones."
  13. No. I drove a truck that I wanted at that dealership but it was a bad vibrator. Kinda glad - made walking away from them very easy. I ended up getting one from original dealer that came in recently.
  14. Other than it drives like it should with no vibrations? No.
  15. Well, I am officially done. After 5.5 months of driving over 15 vehicles and attempts to fix my original Yukon Denali XL I found a truck that doesn't vibrate and has very minimal (acceptable, really) buffeting. I picked it up yesterday. It has 520 miles on it, of which 400+ are mine from lengthy test drives with it. It drives like I would expect them all to drive. I'm unsure what my plans are moving forward as it relates to this forum and the Facebook group but i do plan on continuing to monitor them and assisting folks, if needed. Suggestion.....if you can go the buy back route, it seems to be the best deal in the end to get your vehicle replaced. They sell every new car thats part of the buyback process at triple net. This means a couple hundred bucks on either side of employee pricing. I got a pretty loaded Yukon Denali for $67k and buy rate on the lease. I got every penny back from my downpayment (first payment, taxes and small cash down) on original vehicle and GM paid all 5 of my lease payments on initial vehicle. I know my experience isn't the norm (and that's another flaw in this entire thing) but outside of time spent dealing with all of this I feel much better about sticking with this truck. Worst case, I can dump the lease through leasetrader.com and walk away. I wish everyone here the best of luck. Keep hammering your dealer for assistance. Lastly, if you're considering a new purchase and it's between a small dealer and a volume dealer I'd go with the volume dealer. They have many more resources to throw at this. I ALMOST went with small dealer and there is no way they would have gone through all of this for me (and that's not a flaw with them, just a matter of resources). Good luck!
  16. Have you asked them to just buy it back?
  17. No. It still exists in model year 2016's.
  18. Just posted the survey in the Facebook group.....fyi.
  19. Put about 100 miles on it and it was great. There is slight buffeting in it but it's less than any I've driven and I think it's the level of buffeting that most that didn't know of this issue would buy the truck and never look back. No vibrations which was huge for me and although I ended up going with a black SWB (I initially picked up a white LWB) I don't feel like I settled. I even went back to the dealership today to drive another black one with HUD and adaptive cruise just for one last comparison and I realized that I couldn't even see the HUD with my sunglasses on (which I wear 90% of the time). Adaptive cruise is cool but I wouldn't have added it if I were to special order a Yukon so it wasn't a deal breaker. I have always loved how black cars look but have liked white better. Once I saw the Yukon Denali in black I couldn't pass it up. I lease so worst case I keep it for 3 years...best case, I'll probably get out of the lease in 2 years and into something different anyway. I would bet I have driven 16-17 Yukons/XLs/Suburbans/Tahoes. GM getting the VIN for this truck was the last thing they needed to get things wrapped up. Picked up my check from the dealer for the last 3 lease payments plus the personal property tax that my county charged. Aside from tons of dealer visits and having to not actually drive the car I picked out for 5 months, it could have gone MUCH worse. Hope to have things wrapped up by weeks end but there is a pretty massive snowstorm in the forecast for weeks end. Would love to have it to play around in the snow. I will be sticking around here and will continue to press for action from GM.
  20. I found one today that slightly buffets but doesn't vibrate. It has ~200 miles on it and I have it for the weekend. The ONLY issue is that it doesn't have adaptive cruise or HUD. At this point, I am not sure that is going to sway me away from a truck that is pleasant to drive. There is another one on the lot that is newer but has roughly same mileage on it and is also manageable from a drivability standpoint. I put most of those miles on that one as it was given to me to use as one of the 12 loaners I have had throughout all of this. It has adaptive cruise and HUD. Have some decisions to make over the weekend but glad this could potentially be over soon.
  21. Funny you say that....I'm on my way to that dealer, 100 miles away, to do just that. They actually have 3 that would work. Thanks.
  22. Tomorrow is 5 months from the day I took delivery. My dealer has been great to work with. I have been compensated over these 5 months accordingly but ultimately just want a Yukon Denali that drives right. Thought we had one ready to be brought to my dealer via flatbed but my Service Mgr happened to be at that location last night and drove it. Said it vibrated pretty bad so that one is out. Not sure folks know but when GM does a straight buyback and gets you into another vehicle they do so at DEALER COST. My lease essentially disappears and I get all monies put down, refunded. The problem is there is a dealer about 80 miles away from me that has 2 identical Yukon's I would take but he isn't willing to sell them at dealer cost. He is willing to sell them to me at supplier pricing (about $1000 difference). He also isn't willing to trade with my dealer as he says he will sell 5 white ones to 1 black one (I came into this wanting white). The dealers hands are so tied when it comes to solving these issues (especially since there isn't a fix) and GM's hands are so tied when it comes to getting a vehicle into my hands to make this potentially go away. They have pushed for me to just order one but my concern is waiting another 2 months only for it to arrive vibrating and buffeting. What. A. Ride.
  23. I'd say he is full of shit. Media attention? Does he think we like driving a vibrating ear-popper around town, especially after dropping 75k on it? Media attention would be me standing in front of GM's headquarters with a sandwich board around my neck asking folks not to buy a Yukon. We aren't quite there.........yet.
  24. I would agree with this...My neighbor has a 2015 XL Denali with 20" wheels. Hers buffets but she doesn't hear it. I have driven it and I hear it.
  25. Depending on the severity of it and sensitivity of the person driving it, you can hear it and feel it. Take your finger and tap the top of your ear back and forth. That sound is the buffeting sound heard (at varying levels and repetitiveness) going down the road. It is in 2016 models as well. I have one and have driven another 4-5 with it. My bigger issue is the vibrations. I am in search of a 2016 with no vibration and as limited of buffeting as i can find. If I didn't love the Yukon so much and it didn't meet my needs so well, I would have tossed the keys back to the dealer after reading the first few posts on here. Instead, I am optimistic that something positive will come from this and folks can carry on with their lives. GM is buying back my first one BUT I am not going to be sorting through 4-5 Yukons to see if they have it. I am not settling on a 75k vehicle. My color/feature combo is specific so DX'ing in is my only option. Glad to answer any other questions.
