  1. Has anyone every opened their sunroof and pushed down what my daughters thought was a bug net? Hold it down at 45+mph and for those that don't know what buffeting sounds like x10.
  2. Well....good news and bad news. The good news is that I had a plan all laid out to get some serious footage from many different parts of the vehicle, put it all together in one video and see what you guys thought. The bad news is that as I started my second set of tests, my GoPro suction mount came......unsucked. Obliterated the suction cup and waterproof housing and dinged up my Hero 4 but it was laying face down in the road with no lens damage whatsoever. So....I'll re-up my equipment and give it another shot. Here is the first test. Honestly, there is nothing really to see here (which may be a good thing). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYdMwlcbIaA 20 secs each at 40mph and 70mph (constant speed) of the rear window meeting the lift gate.
  3. I have the setup for this and would be glad to test it out. Let's determine what would be best to see and then I'll get on it. I could also do a video on my roof as well. FYI, I have a SWB Yukon Denali until my REAL Yukon Denali comes in.
  4. Yep...guarantee this isn't something the dealer thought up and proposed, either. "Hose clamps" was also mentioned on my Yukon but didn't fix it either. My guess is there is some lengthy notes section in their systems that has steps to try. This is merely one of the steps.
  5. No, it's merely one of the steps dealers are taking to attempt to fix things that doesn't work.
  6. "Rare." Funniest quote from this story. Hard to believe that 6 people he spoke with don't have either issue. Let's remember this is in Detroit..... http://www.clickondetroit.com/automotive/some-drivers-complain-of-vibrations-in-chevy-full-size-suvs
  7. Can you upload to YouTube or Vimeo? Much easier way to share these.
  8. Glad to see this happening, FINALLY. My suggestion to each of you - take the time to send an email to the writers of each of these stories volunteering your experience so they realize this isn't some black hole from a few owners. Pound them. SOMETHING positive will come from this - I have no doubt.
  9. Highly recommend sending email/commenting on article about any other details you feel are missing. The more we send them the more likely they are to respond (as already evident).
  10. Ha! I know what I know and I have definitely become even more sensitive and picky than I was prior to my first GM purchase 5 months ago but this Yukon feels like I expected it to feel. Time will tell.
  11. This is great to see. That was what I had hoped would happen. In some strange irony, I went to the dealership today to sort through some availability of 2016's within a 150-200 mile radius so that I could get something DX'd in for my buyback. My sales guy knew I had opened my search up to include Onyx Black and had just gotten one DX'd in. I told him that I had already driven that one and it had the same buffeting and vibrations that my initial Yukon XL had. He said, "I don't think you have." Sure enough, I checked it out and it had 6 miles on it. Checked the sticker and it was optioned as if I had ordered it myself. Took it for a drive and NO VIBRATIONS. Buffeting was slight but far less noticeable than my initial Yukon XL. It's the first one I have driven that didn't have it. I have it for a few more days to be sure but could it be?
  12. Thanks. I appreciate that. I've always admired the Yukon Denali but never really had the need for one. Now that I have the need for one (and it looks better than ever) it goes and shits the bed. I still love the truck and am obviously interested in seeing a positive outcome. Only time will tell.
  13. I hope so...I have pelted most of them today with tweets, posts and emails. Snowballing would be great at this point.
  14. Feel free to push for a separate article. I started from scratch and because my vehicle was a 16 Yukon XL Denali with these issues that's what I pursued.
  15. The article has hit. Here it is - http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/12/there-s-a-big-issue-with-gm-s-suvs-and-no-one-seems-to-have-a-solution.html
  16. Not yet. It's coming. Let's remember this has been going on for over a year and a half. My push for an article only started a couple months ago. It's coming, I promise you. I have read it....it's pretty lengthy and will hopefully get GM's attention.
  17. I had an older one as well and liked it but I agree....I like my Denali WAY more than I thought I would (or else i would have thrown the keys back at them after a week). I really want this to work out. They have located a SWB for me...Hoping it doesn't show up with buffeting and vibrations. :-)
  18. I brought home a new Land Cruiser today...totally different vehicle but it was nice to have a quiet, vibration free ride all the way up to 80mph. Not keeping it though...3rd row seats take up tons of the cargo room which is a major issue for me.
  19. They aren't all sitting around spell checking this one article. ?
  20. I didn't push to get this article so we got more information - there really is no additional information. I did it so that there was yet another avenue into GM showing how many folks are impacted by these issues.
  21. Definitely be sure they see this.
  22. UPDATE...It won't hit today but will tomorrow..had to go through last editing pass.
  23. No, but it's hitting today. Just confirmed with the editor after some last minute review.
  24. I have a 2016 Yukon XL Denali. Didn't see it on the list. Agree that it's no one else's fault but GM's.
  25. Depends on what each of us are looking to accomplish. I am actually in a situation where my dealer is bending over backwards to help me, including working directly with GM to replace my truck. I reached out to all of the auto rags and created the Facebook group so that we could reach more people much more effectively and efficiently. I view it as simply an additional avenue heading towards the same thing - getting a fix released for both issues. EDIT: I can't file the NHTSB complaint as my vehicle isn't even in their system yet.
