FYI - there is a Facebook group trying to gain momentum/size as another method of generating some visibility to GM for these issues. Join here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/GMissues/

You realize that this is just some law firm that was fortunate enough to grab a good domain and are doing their best to capitalize on that, right?

Yep...That's me. My car is back in the shop for the 3rd time this week. My dealership has been fantastic - they are realists and know that it's not their fault it can't be fixed. They have a GM field engineer on site and I hope to hear something today or tomorrow. I picked up my XL Denali on 9/15. I have reached out to approximately 10 automobile rags/online review sites and started a Facebook group to try to get even the slightest more attention on this issue. I need this space and love the truck - otherwise I would have tossed the keys back to them after week one. I am also very thankful that I leased it so, worst case scenario, I walk away after 3 years and don't take any hits financially on how they will depreciate, especially once the market becomes more educated on these issues. I did have a guy reach out to me from my inquiries asking if anyone was in LA, Detroit or Vegas so that he could drive one. He has contacts at GM that most don't and I had really hoped someone would have raised their hand. I will keep everyone posted.

My 16 Yukon XL Denali has it.

I've been poking and prodding to at least 10 auto rags, newspapers and online auto news sites. One reply so far with a guy asking to experience the vibration himself. He even said he was going to be in LA, Las Vegas and Detroit - I just needed to find someone. He has different contacts at GM than any of these "engineers" or anyone else that's been involved. If you are interested red, let me know.

I just dropped mine off with the details from your fix. Asked them to look into this but to consider all sources. We shall see.

No way would I ever trade in this vehicle (or any vehicle for that matter). I too got a great deal on my XL Denali. I also received a decent "we are sorry for all of the shop time" payment from GM along with a healthy accessories credit (that I was going to spend anyway). I made it very clear that that was for issues to this point and that I still expected them to work to solve the vibration and buffeting. Unlike some, I am not dropping off my truck and letting it sit there until I see some type of traction being made here (like the two links showing the vibration fix for tires and drivetrain...They are working with me as best they can and because there is NOTHING that remotely comes close to this vehicle in comparison, I am sucking it up and hoping for a fix. Caveat - had a purchased this vehicle and not leased it I would have walked away after the first two weeks of troubles.

2016 Yukon XL Denali owner right here (with vibration and pressure/buffeting issues). I've asked for any folks from LA, Las Vegas or Detroit to let me know. I have pursued quite a few automobile rags/newspapers/online sites and was able to get a response pretty quickly from one of them. He wants to drive one that has both issues (or even just one). He also has contacts at GM that I'd bet no one on here has (through their dealer or not). For as many folks that have issues, I would have thought I could have found at least one owner. For what it's worth I also created a Facebook group so please feel free to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/GMissues/

I shared the two links with my service manager and said bring it by and grab your loaner. We will get you straight.

My neighbor has same setup on her XL that I do less the wheels. I think there is a difference in ride quality between the 22" and 20" wheels but not something that should ever warrant a service visit/call/complaint.

2015 YUKON NOISE IN CABIN
yahtzee replied to FOURKNUCKLES's topic in 2015-2020 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon & Escalade
I think the White Diamond Tri-Coat yellowed more than they wanted. It sure did look more yellow (especially plastic parts) than other OEM's. I specifically sought out Summit White (2016) for this reason. Also, rock chip repairs look terrible when the paint doesn't match over time (i don't care how good your touch up skills are). The new color is nice but it's still pearl, just not as yellow. My beef with it was paying $1000 for a color (especially over a 3 yr lease). Made zero sense for me. -
It has been discussed but not pursued. There is nothing else even close to it on the market. I am just hoping for a fix.

I picked up a '16 XL Denali on 9/15/15. Same issues are present. I've since reached out to numerous automobile publications (print and online) and received a response asking to drive one of these impacted vehicles. Is anyone near LA, alas Vegas or Detroit and willing to meet up? He has some good contacts at GM and I think we could get some additional visibility here. Ice also created a Facebook group. Just look up GM Issues and request to join. Thanks.

I just heard back from one of the publications I've been after. He has direct relationships with GM and wants to drive one that has the issues we are experiencing. He is going to be in LA, Las Vegas and Detroit in the short term. Anyone here that nearby? -

Yes....above 80, it's like a different truck. My dad was in the 2nd row and said he heard the buffeting as well at normal speeds. -

I took my first legitimate trip with my '16 XL Densli yesterday. Buffeting from 40-78mph. Actually improves above 78mph. Interesting note: my vibration issue that went away is back BUT only around 75-77mph. It also goes away above 78mph but is not present below ~70mph. At 80+, she hummed right along. Coming into town after exiting interstate popped the tranny into is lovely sounding 12th gear. Annoying. Took my parents out to dinner and had my mom drive it home. She was so enamored with its size that she didn't even hear the buffeting - until I said "listen...doesn't it sound like a window is cracked? Do you hear it?" She heard it. Overall, I enjoyed the truck but I'm still puzzled why GM hasn't found a fix for these issues. Regarding my follow up to the news outlets, auto rags and publications.....I heard back from one editor who copied a guy with ties to GM. Following up with him again today as well as pinging every single contact I reached out to last week. The Facebook group is small (growing) but who cares? Just another means to show GM the effort we're putting in to gain more attention. -

My favorite transmission related issue is what feels like 12th gear at 25 mph....it goes from sounding like a complete beast to a complete puss in a few seconds. -

Go drive one or two or five...there are Yukons on the road without the issue. If you find one, make a deal and enjoy your ride. -

A cargo area can't be fixed after the fact and wasn't flat when you went to drive it. It didn't tilt at 250 miles..it was tilted from the factory and if that bothered you why did you buy it? The buffeting is a different animal in my opinion. I am not convinced that it can't be fixed. It's clear that you are. I am going hard at it to see if I can get some different eyes and ears on this problem. If we do and it ends up getting fixed, great news. If not, no one here will be able to say it wasn't because people didn't raise enough hell about it. -

Get cracking, then. :-) Scroll back up and see the different publications/outlets that I have reached out to (email and twitter). The more folks that push the louder we will be. Don't event waste any more of the dealer's time until GM has something in place for this. -

Pretty broad statement..... "you are stuck with it." Some/most dealerships (mine included) have been fantastic to work with. They realize that it's not their issue. Some will choose to go to bat for you and some will choose to let you walk out and move on. Assume you meant to say "coming directly from GM in my area." I haven't seen anything official released from GM stating this. In fact, I spoke to my service mgr this morning and he said GM is FULLY aware and some type of testing is taking place in Arlington to try to fix the buffeting issue.
