  1. Biggerdog01, nice work, brother. I've been moving and we'll very busy.....and they said it couldn't be done! Great job of not being deterred.... What's the latest and greatest, today? Don't mean to be nosy.....around $7.5k in total? And give me feedback on your thoughts when towing & issues. I'm towing near capacity. Truck definitely has nuts. But I avoided the mountainous grade (Hahaha!) On my 1300 mile journey. Get her done......
  2. They make a heavy duty bump stop. It's in here somewhere. I have them and right around 2500lb pin weight. They help for sure.
  3. Where's your write up!!!! I'm stoked!!!
  4. I'm sorry. Been busy...... T Yes hauler, yes. Trailer pushes the boundaries of the truck. Trailer weight is 10,800 unloaded. Pin weight is appx. 2500lbs, yikes! So with Harley and goodies. I'm close to adding 1800lbs. I spent weeks trying to sort out trailers. They are a nightmare that you would never believe.
  5. 500+ miles today. Truck was flawless towing the flatlands of the Midwest. Only one issue....6.4mpg @ 65mph. No way possible to get any better. Going to take a detour thru Tennessee. I think I'd be really pushing things going from Nashville to Chattanooga. Where the elevation changes drastically.
  6. Brclark82, kinda just thoughts based on numbers. (Not exact) glad I threw those timbrens in there. I'll get a feel for it Saturday & Sunday. And report back. Brakes on both truck & trailer feel extremely good. 8.5 on gain. Seems to be working.
  7. Road trip.......poor little guy....he's a hurtin'.
  8. Sounds like a dead end.....thanks
  9. Please explain? Also, if it's a problem, why doesn't the supercharger manufacturer include a preprogrammed processor? EPA or something?
  10. No doubt. Whipple claims 200h/p. The torque would be nowhere close to the Duramax at 900ft lbs. It's possible on straight flat runs, fuel efficiency could be equal to stock. It's just I know how it goes when you need to drop the hammer. Gulp gulp gulp. Haha. I'll do more research. Maybe I'll give it a try next year. Gonna have to think about this one.
  11. Whipple's run $6100. Don't think you can upgrade to a diesel for that amount of money. But the supercharged 6.0 is going to use gas like a fiend.
  12. Timbrens installed. More clearance then expected. About 1 1/2" +/-
  13. Haha.... already investigating a tonneau cover. I'll get pics. But I really don't want to know about weight. Cause there's not much I'm going to do about it. Best I don't know.
  14. Brclark82, everything is perfect. I had dealer install 7way in bed. All I have to do is pop the timbrens in. Note: I have a nice Kryptonite cable lock that I can use to secure hitch inside of truck. Just one more thing the theif would have to undo. I hate making things easy for them Thanks for all your insight. Anything else, let me know.....
  15. Sorry to hear! I just ordered the timberns.......after I found out I made a mistake. Load in bed will be 2500lbs. My bad. IDK.......
  16. Completely agree. Just wanted to see what I'm dealing with tommorow. Was going to order a Air Lift system. For $360.?? But in the long run. More bad things can happen. Thank you!
  17. I went with the B&W turnable ball w/Andersen aluminum hitch. Very light and easy to remove. That decision took time. As it's relatively new and unconventional, to me. I'll keep you posted.......
  18. Pot calling the kettle black?? Lol! Going to get hitch installed tomorrow. And loading trailer. Bringing a tape with me to measure the sag. What should I be looking for, as far as what's acceptable amount of drop? Will add your suggestion on helpers if needed. Joe
  19. Brclark82, Trailer is a toy hauler. To be honest, the trailer was an afterthought. And trailer shopping is very difficult. A very long bumper pull seems extremely sketchy to say the least. So, my options were a toy hauler where the bike sits in the kitchen and/or living space area, which I couldn't do. Or a very small 5th wheel with separate garage space. Obviously larger then the bumper pull. I was trying to figure things out on my own. Didn't want to rely on RV sales guy advise. You know how that goes. Lol! I knew I was cutting it close. Thank you for sharing your wisdom on this matter. I'm very great full........joe
  20. They must have changed the door sticker system. Talks about payload being 2901lbs.....
  21. I thought the towing capacity of my praticular truck showed max tow rating at 14,400lbs. Minus; fuel/350lbs myself/200lbs, hitch/100lbs.(aluminum Andersen style) total 650lbs. 14,400 - 650 = 13,750lbs. Minus trailer -10,700lbs. Leaves me appx. 3000lbs of additional cargo. Motorcycle will be 900lbs off the bat. Leaving me 2100lbs. I'll verify door sticker and see what those numbers come to. I'm not going to lie........it's close! Going to skip the Tennessee Foothills. So, no major hill climbs. Any other input is appreciated. Going to verify squat on Friday. As to wether or not I'll need more support for rear of truck.
  22. 2300lbs tongue. Trailer is 10,700lbs. Overall load = 13,000lbs. Still too much?
