  1. Different standards maybe? I've got the Belltech 2210FFs out back of my double cab and they ride awful whether the truck is loaded or empty.
  2. Can you post the TSB #'s, MrNasty? My local dealership seems to be in denial there are any issues with the 8L90 torque converters even though mine has been exhibiting textbook symptoms of converter shudder.
  3. Is there any GM documentation anywhere about these symptoms being a torque converter issue? Because when I took my truck in for exactly the same symptoms (plus an occasional violent shudder) they took it for a spin to diagnose, acknowledged the behaviour, and then blamed it on variable engine loading like the A/C compressor cycling on and off. The dealer claimed no knowledge of any issues with the 8 speed torque converters, even when I specifically brought that up.
  4. Is there any documentation out there regarding converter shudder that I could point out to the dealer? Cause when we went for the test drive it had stopped shuddering but was still slipping and the guy didn't think it was a trans issue. Said I would have seen it before now - all the problems they've seen with 8 speeds have been "clutch packs, other internals, and they all happen early. No converter issues, especially not after 26,000 trouble free kilometres". Recommended a few things to check (he seems to be under the impression it's 'normal behaviour with variable load from things coming on and off like the a/c compressor') and said if that didn't fix it then to come back since I have plenty of powertrain warranty left. I didn't push the issue too hard since my truck is lowered and straight-piped and I don't want to get into a warranty pissing-match unless I have to.
  5. Had the delayed shift problem, but the dealer did a re-learn and the truck was great for a week or so. Started to feel a little lazy again after that. The re-learn didn't fix the occasional clunky downshift, especially with the shifter in M mode. Now it's started to fluctuate RPM at steady cruise around 40mph under light load - revs will climb a couple hundred RPM then drop again, keeps doing this. Truck has also developed a shudder through the whole drivetrain under a few circumstances, haven't figured out what triggers it yet. Guessing something is truly broke now. Will head to the dealer this week and hope they don't try to blame it on my dropped suspension.
  6. 7 isn't a problem unless you plan on towing, not a lot of suspension travel left. Just cut the bumpstop back for a little more room like bakerrr mentioned.
  7. ...sell the 3" arms and buy the 4" arms?
  8. I'm 4/7 and still seemed like lots of room to me. Hoowybrow is ~6/9 and he only replaced his driveshaft after he broke it launching it, but he makes over 550hp at the wheels.
  9. The OEM Ranchos are beyond awful, especially in a lowered truck. I'd avoid them like the plague. I run the Belltech 2210F. They seem alright.
  10. Probably depends on your offset, I see you have OEM wheels. Mine are tucked like stock fitment and I haven't noticed any rubbing at speed but it rides like a covered wagon. I'll bottom out the bumpstops in the rear before anything touches there, I haven't managed to rub up front yet other than cranking the wheel in parking lots. Scraped the front air dam a few times.
  11. I rub a bit at full lock 4/7 on 22's. I'm guessing you'll have more issues because you're an inch higher (which has you covered vertically for clearance, effectively a trade-off with my measurements) but that still puts the tire an inch further out from the hub so you're an inch closer to rubbing on the inner side of the wheel well when the steering wheel is cranked. :EDIT: Also depends on your offset, obviously. My setup is pretty close to stock offset.
  12. I run a 285/40/22 Falken Ziex STZ05. Toyo makes the Proxes ST2 in the same size.
  13. Thanks! Yes, they're 285/40/22 Falken Ziex tires on OE Wheels LLC reps. Couldn't justify spending 3 times as much on the OEM ones and then having to pay to strip the chrome and powdercoat them.
  14. 2015 Sierra Combination of Belltech and DJM to give a 4/7 drop. Goes back in for air assist in a week so I can still haul a race trailer (which is the whole reason I bought one... can't put a Class 3 hitch on a CTS-V Wagon.)
  15. I hope not, I intend to be daily driving my DCRB 4x4 at 4/7 in a couple weeks. I know hoowybrow was dailying a DCRB 4x4 with a 6/9 drop up until the winter. As for DJM shocks, I haven't had any firsthand experience with them but I heard negative things. I went with Belltechs for now, may go with something a little more fancy in the future.
