  1. xtremespl my 2015 LTZ does exactly what yours does in the first video, although it is not all the time. I also notice it seems to happen most often when I have a trailer hooked up. So crazy. I want to replace the screen but fear that wont solve it. Have you made any progreess?
  2. Can someone who did the repair at home please share the part number and where they purchased from?
  3. I am about to pull the trigger and fix this myself. Rock Auto has so many options. Does anyone have the proper part number for a 2015 6.2??
  4. I was losing my mind as I was having the exact same problem as the OP! going to go leaf hunting tonight after work! The sound was driving me nuts
  5. I have never had the power steering issues, but one time I pulled into a parking lot and did not notice they had triple speed bumps all about 6 inches apart as I was distracted by kids in the back seat, anyway I hit this trio of bumps at about 10 MPH and the truck cut off, same way you are saying as if someone turned the key back so the power was on but the engine was killed. I had to manually turn the truck back on. I checked the dash grounds and they were fine, no sound deadening was under the bolts ( wonder if that was a 14 only issue) and I also checked my battery terminals also good. A few other times after that when going over bumps, all my dash lights and mylink screen would cut out then come back, engine would cut out for a split second then come back. I once again torqued down battery cables and its been a few months now without the issue. so weird. never threw a code.
  6. beautiful truck. sorry to hear you are having issues. keep track of all this work being done and issues being logged.
  7. no screen protector and I have done the re calibration
  8. no one else has this ghost pressing their buttons?
  9. 2015 LTZ Z71. Recently I have had issues with my touchscreen. I have cleaned it and done the touch recalibration. Sometimes when I turn the truck on, the whole time it is on, the mylink screen will respond as if someone is touching the top right corner. It switches screens and you can hear the "beep" sound. I have tried wiping it down, but it doesnt help. If I turn off the truck and then let the screen power down, when it turn it back on it usually acts normal. It is like roulette when I go to drive the truck, 50/50 chance on whether or not the screen is going to be beeping and switching menus and acting all wonky. Has anyone found a fix for this? is there a hard reset?
  10. I know there is a problematic ground wire under the dash near the speaker on the drivers side, but is there a large ground wire somewhere in the engine compartment near the battery? anyone know the exact location?
  11. So Sunday I found that the negative battery cable was loose. I tightened it and figured that was my problem. Car was fine yesterday, even when I hit the railroad tracks I cross on my commute, but when I drove over them today the same thing happened. split second loss of power, stabiltrack light, radio resets to 87.7 FM, all my presets disapear then 2 seconds later they all come back. I am now wondering if it is a ground wire
  12. I have not. I went about a month with nothing happening, then I drove over a railroad track and had the message flash real quick and I think the steering got tight for a split second. I need to get under there this weekend to see if a speed sensor is loose. I also need to hit the dealer for the power steering software recall flash, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
  13. midnight has it happened again to you?
  14. so you are getting V4 drone because you didn't tune out DOD correct?
  15. thank guys I will check both of those
  16. About a month ago I was pulling into the hospital, my son was sick, we were looking for the ER entrance, going about 10 MPH and didn't notice 3 speed bumps all in a row, 12 inches apart. Hit them at around 10 and obviously it gave the truck a good shaking. The truck turned off and the service stabilitrak light came on. I turned it back on and everything seemed fine. I thought it was weird but was preoccupied. (my son was/is fine) anyway but to yesterday I had forgotten about this incident and was driving down the road and hit a few patched potholes, nothing major but it jarred the truck a little and for a split second I felt like I lost power steering and the service stabilitrack message came and went very quick. Do I have a loose sensor somewhere? Could this have to do with the EPS recall? thanks,
  17. I had this after installing larger blocks in the rear. One of the lower shock bolts was just a shade under the appropriate torque. Tightened that up and sound went away. First thing and easy thing is to check all bolts to make sure they are torqued to spec
  18. hold down the unlock button on the keyfob and all 4 windows roll down
  19. I have the 2.5 RC and 305/50 on a +1 offset 20x9 wheel. I could have and should have gone 305/55 and just had to deal with sime minor cutting or zip tying. I guess my point is you don't need to go with such a big lift and spend more money if you only want to fit 305/55
  20. I had this issue on my 15 6.2 at 24k miles. It was at the dealer for 2 weeks due to backorder of injectors. They replaced 3 under warranty, so far so good.
  21. Have to laugh at this, my neighbor has had 3 transmissions put in her Infiniti Q(something) then Lexus....HA wont even go there
  22. this is a few weeks old.....about 1030 at night in Savannah GA. 1230 that afternoon, as I was putting the last board over the front window of my house and preparing for Hurricane Irma, I got a call from a neighbor. He said the roads are clear and he has been driving traffic free for 2 hours. at the time we were expecting a direct hit from a category 3 hurricane in 24 hours time and with a 4 year old and 11 month old I was nervous as all hell. I hollered in and told my wife and sister, they had 30 mins to pack up. we jammed the Silverado with everything we thought we would need, food, life jackets(my wife is a typical worried mom) a jack, some tools, clothes, water and 2 gas cans. my sister and two boys jumped in the back and we took off. this is my sister unloading some of our "supplies". I love this truck and after this trip I love it even more. Luckily the storm shifted and lost power and other than a few downed trees and some debris in the yard, my house was fine! we got lucky
  23. lets get serious, the dashboard and fans and aircon routing are all inches away from a boiling hot v8. It's going to be warmer than ambient and it is not a design flaw, it just makes sense. I have found with the back slider open and the windows open to the correct amount, you can awesome circulation and minimal noise
  24. if you have the V4 mode tuned out, then remove the flapper. If you do not, leave flapper.
