    The less maintenance sales pitch falls right into their plan, we sell parts and vehicles. Real simple mode of operation, you want to drive it a long time change the fluids more often. Has worked for me over 50 years.

    What oil, how frequent it's changed and who does it a personal choice. I will change my oil myself with the products I like until I no longer can do it. No one touches my vehicles, toys or other motors unless it can't be avoided.

    Companies think saving a few dollars to manufacture a part is worthwhile, the haven't learned yet.

    Changing the oil more often and or using better quality oil would be my mode of operation.

    It's amazing the different ways people think. Fluid expansion has never come into play in 50+ years. If the dipstick level, oil or trans is with in the marks is all that matters to me. I have always done oil checks on a cold engine. Not saying that's right, just my way.

    I fill between half and a quarter tank, always have, now more so because we live rural.

    Yes Grumpy! I have said forever how oil changes are the lifeblood of an engine. Back in the 70's when I raced quarter mile on the weekends with a daily driver small block Chevy I always changed the oil before and after racing. Never had engine problems.

    jsdirt, you only see the negative, always. Lots of things I don't like but wouldn't want to live elsewhere.

    No CEL, no other issues = normal.

    The wife starts her car and goes, no thought of warming up or easy driving on a cold engine. My work truck was remote start, sat outside. In winter warmed up before moving it. Never saw either one use a lot of oil until my truck got over 200k, not a lot of oil usage. 3k OCI's off the shelf oil. Now our daily gets Amsoil OE. 5k OCI's. No oil use to very little.
