Silverado TRS HID low beam kit & LED Fogs
drentlaw1 replied to drentlaw1's topic in Classifieds (Buy/Sell/Trade)
Bump $200 shipped -
Selling my TRS HID low beam kit and Silverado fog light kit. Came out of my 2014 Silverado with the projector headlights. Everything worked great when I pulled out when I traded it off. Fogs have small rock chips, but doesn’t effect clarity. Comes with spare bulb. Asking $220 shipped.

Turn Signal parking light out
drentlaw1 replied to PearlSierra's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
On my 14 Chevy you access it from the hole in the fender. It’s a feel what your doing rather than see what your doing. Try a google/YouTube search? That’s what I did to figure out how. -
Who Has The Highest Mileage On Their 14+?
drentlaw1 replied to Eddie 70's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I now have 137k miles on mine. Was toying around with trading mine in or selling out rite, but decided to keep it. No plans on getting rid of it now. I like it too much and hate the looks of the 19’s. Once it is paid off I plan on getting a CT’s-v or similar 4 door sports car. Wish I could just get a camaro or Vette, but having a wife and 1 year old it’s not in the cards haha -
What shorty antenna (or antenna delete) are you using
drentlaw1 replied to Nitrousbird's topic in Modifications & Accessories
I have the “stubby” brand off amazon. I listen to Pandora 90% of the time and Xm when there is a free trial going on like now. Very very rarely use am/fm. Cleans up the look a lot. -
What have you done to your K2 today?
drentlaw1 replied to block8head's topic in Modifications & Accessories
The optional flex fuel sensor, I’m guessing your pickup doesn’t have that option like mine doesn’t (6.2). It just hangs out under there. I zip tied mine up so it doesn’t fall down. -

That is the connection for the flex fuel option. Mine was hanging down one day and had to ask the same question haha. -
Sounds like your dealer ship is giving you the run around. If the system on your pickup is not working as it should, it’s well in the bumper to bumper warranty. I would try a different dealership. If anything they should be able to disconnect the noise canceling system to make the stereo work.

Who Has The Highest Mileage On Their 14+?

130,000 miles on my 14 6.2 and never had a catch can. Never done any treatments, only thing I've done is wiped the throttle body when I installed my Airaid MIT. One day I'll get enough money saved up to do TSP heads and cam swap and do a thread with pictures of what everything looks like. Any cash donations towards this I wouldn't mind haha ?? -
So I've been doing more thinking and research, and I think I want to wait to do a 3/5. Living in Wyoming I don't want to do to much and have to pull it off and go higher. What I was thinking on doing is moving the mounting of the strut from the top of the control arm to the bottom. I've seen some kits that use this as an option with a 1/4" spacer. This will be easily reversible. For the rear I was thinking about removing the spacer in the leafs. Again easily reversible and if I do want to go lower, I'll need to do this anyways. If I like the look or think about going lower I can save up and get a kit with shocks and struts. I'm about due for new shocks and struts having 130k miles. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have the cast steel.

I've read some reviews of people running this kit on 4wd and this site claims you can run it on a 4wd. May be a dumb question but what is the difference in spindles between 4wd and 2wd?

Needing some advice on lowering my pickup. This will be my first time lowering a vehicle. From the research I've done I think I want to do 3/5. I've been looking at different kits and found the Mcgaughys #34170 Adjustable Drop Kit. Looks pretty decent, but I have no idea. I like that if I would want to go lower I could. Any input would be great. This is the link that I found for the kit.https://reklez.com/collections/2007-2017-gm-trucks-drop-kits/products/gmc-sierra-1500-2014-2016-3-5-4-6-drop-kit 2014 Silverado High Country 4wd Any info or input for a newbie would be awesome. Thanks

I'm the same way with mine! I have a 14 High Country 6.2 with just over 123k miles. No catch can ever. Had the AFM enabled up to 116k miles before putting a black bear tune on it. I drive it hard, borderline abuse it, and have no issues. I plan on doing heads and cam this winter and will do a detailed post to see how everything looks without having a catch can on for all these miles. I have no plans on getting rid of this pickup. So I'm curious on how many miles I get on it before anything major happens, if anything does. -
2014 Silverado transmission flush or drain?
drentlaw1 replied to GMcD's topic in Engines & Drivetrain
I just did my own last Friday. All I did was drop pan and change internal filter. Took about 6.5 quarts of fluid. From what I've read on here that is what most everyone does. If they don't change the filter when they flush I don't see the point really. It's like changing your engine oil and not changing the filter. -
100k+ mile update for 2014+ trucks?
drentlaw1 replied to Cjmooch's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Currently have a 2014 High Country with the 6.2 6 speed. Just about to hit 119k miles. I've done all the regular maintenance (diffs, transfer case, plugs, wires, oil changes, etc) only major thing I've had to do was the radiator and thermostat because of the small cracks that the 14s get. I've definitely not been easy on it either. I've done air box mod, mit tube, Kooks headers with catless y, Corsa sport exhaust, black bear tune. Hope to do cam and heads soon. Also I've never had a catch can on it. Runs perfect and curious on how many miles I can get out of the stock motor and trans. My interior is holding up amazing, not even a tear in the seat like the older generations. Exterior is good just the normal dings that are inevitable. -
Coolant flush drain
drentlaw1 replied to afireinside7444's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
Maybe I'm wrong about the drain, I could if swore there was one. But pulling the house off is by far the easiest quickest way -
Coolant flush drain
drentlaw1 replied to afireinside7444's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
There was a drain on my 2014 6.2 when I replaced the radiator. Only I didn't know that when I removed the old one! I think it's on the passenger side if I remember correctly. I wanna say it took 2.5 + or - gallons. Maybe someone else can chime in to confirm the capacity. I bought 2 gallons of the non diluted and had extra. -
How many miles are on your 2014+
drentlaw1 replied to GM MAN VINCE's topic in 2014-2018 Silverado 1500 & Sierra 1500
I have 113000 on my 2014 high country 6.2. I bought it with 111000 so I'm not sure on what problems if any before me. With that being said I just did both diffs, transfer case, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and all fluids and plugs looked very good. I did replace the radiator and thermostat because the 14's thermostat runs to much and causes cracks on the radiator. I did the work my self for $300 saving me $900 instead of having the stealership do it ?. I have done some preformance mods and am not taking it easy on it by any means haha!Doesn't burn oil and no shakes shimmys or anything weird. -
Post your 2014+ wheel/tire set-up
drentlaw1 replied to BlueWrapper's topic in Modifications & Accessories
This was my 2014 Silverado LTZ. I was running Fuel Coupler 20x10 -12, 33"x12.5" Atturo Trail Blade XT with a 2.5 Front only Leving kit with Air bags in back. Slight rub at full turn but nothing major! I would check out www.customwheeloffset.com. Very informative and good prices from what i remember.
