  1. I'm hoping someone here has some suggestions cause I'm at a loss. I understand that most covers will not be 100% watertight but I'm not looking to resort to siliconing anything quite yet. I have a Truxedo Lo-Pro X15 with a spray in bed liner that leaks up front in the corners closest to the cabs. I called the company and was given a higher bulkhead seal but that doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. The leak appears to be at the corners on either side the bulkhead seal. It almost looks as though the bed is not joined all the way at the top corner. Anyone have any ideas on how to seal this or an easy-removal silicone product?
  2. I surely did. I had an annoying shimmy in the seats at highway speeds... not as bed as the typical GM shake some trucks have, but I noticed it. With lowering the rear end, the truck now rides smooth as glass.
  3. Yes. Stock front end. In the Leveling Kit thread and amongst other forums, I kept seeing pictures of broken balljoints so it worried me doing the leveling kit. I also have the GM 22" rims so I think stuffing the rear tire that whole 2" cleaned up the rear end a lot.
  4. Cross posting this from the lowering pinned thread if anyone is interested: I got the Belltech 2" lowering shackles put on. Personally, I left the 1.25" blocks on the axle to keep a short rake just in case I choose to get another boat again or something of the like. Installation was pretty straight forward. I'm fortunate enough to have a friend with a two post lift. We removed the OEM hitch and then began breaking down the rear shackles. Being it was on a lift with only one large floor jack, we choose to gain clearance over the frame rails by disconnecting the bottom shackle bolt and lowering the truck onto the floor to lift the top shackle bolt above the frame. Right away we ran into a problem in that the bed seam was contacting the shackle. Back up in the air and some taps with a ball peen hammer, the bed seam was folded over and it was smooth sailing from there. Final measurements came down to 1.25" higher in the rear which I was okay with as aforementioned. Total install time with a two post lift from hitch removal to hitch installation was 2hrs 15 min with two people and mostly hand tools. Will post pics tomorrow. *EDIT* Also, I used to have this obnoxious ever so slight shake in the seats at highway speeds. Wasn't the typical GM shake that has been documented but something that bugged the hell out of me. That shake has also been resolved and the butttest attributes that to the lowering the truck a touch. Additionally, the ATROCIOUS leaf spring creek is gone as well. That could from getting some weight off the springs with the truck in the air but I doubt it (never noticed it resolving after an oil change). Time will tell.
  5. Yesterday I installed the Belltech lowering shackles to lower the rear end a total of 2". Filled up the wheel well nice with the Chevy 22's. Today. I was in the market for a Quick Detailer and after much reading, I went with the Griot's Garage Best of Show detailer. Bottle claimed it could be used in direct sunlight but I found it hard to remove. Switched to a shade spot and was much happier. Added depth to the tintcoat and looked great.
  6. Just to follow up: I got the Belltech lowering shackles put on. 7. I have a crew cab.
  8. After doing lots of reading both here and on the leveling/lift kit thread, I decided that in order to keep my truck more street friendly, I wanted to go ahead and drop the ass end instead of leveling the front. I ordered the belltech shackle kit after learning that just removing the rear block was not enough to level. With this being said I still have a few a questions that the search function did not turn up answers to. In order to level the truck, is it best to use the shackle at the 2" position or is better to remove the rear block and do the 2" position for about a drop of 3"? On some of the amazon reviews, people were reporting having issue with removing the shackle botls. Some people said that they had to loosen the bed and raise the bed or even roll the bed seem. Furthermore, there was also talks about removing the hitch so that the lower shackle bolt can be removed. Can anyone attest to the factuality of this? https://www.belltech.com/belltech-07-17-chevrolet-silverado-sierra-1-2-ton-all-2-or-3-rear-drop-6401.html
  9. Please do! Would love to see some pictures!
  10. Listen here guy, you can't just post this without a link to a write-up or something!
  11. For anyone on the fence about any covers... if you have an Amex Everyday POINTS card, there is currently a deal between Amex and Amazon for 20% off up to $500 (total of $100 discount) on any product shipped and sold by Amazon. Because of this, I finally pulled the trigger on the Truxedo Pro x15. Spent 33,000 points and only paid $240 or so on the Amex.
  12. Installed my Husky floor liners this morning!
  13. I'm kinda bitter about the grill shutters that I have.... I can't mount a light ANYWHERE
  14. Added the Husky mud flaps. This new 22" wheel setup kicks up so much road crap!
  15. Added the 18" Magnaflow (p/n 11259) but kept the resonator and flapper. Barely noticeable difference from stock. Went a head and ordered the Dynomax 3" intermediate pipe in stainless (p/n 55608) and the 3" tailpipe in stainless (p/n 54704). Will be getting installed next week. May or may not have to get the Range AFM disabler depending on the drone.
  16. Unplugging the range is the least of the worries people are having according to the thread on here and elsewhere. Everything from Stabiltrak and ABS involvement to the system just not working at all. I think a lot of it had to do with the CANBUS and trying to jump the communication within it. Sucks I just feel too hesitant about the tune and the range device and will just have to live with the chopper. Just gotta figure out the way that people are minimizing it.
  17. Sure, I don't think anyone is trying to totally get rid of it with out the AFM disabler. But, being that I'm still under the warranty and have heard mixed reviews regarding the Range module, I'm just trying to limit it.
  18. Just for clarification after 162 pages, I wanna make sure I got this right! 1) Replacement muffler has to be a center/offset setup 2) Stock 5.3 exhaust size is 3" 3) If you're going to keep the AFM, the way to limit drone and "chopper" is to keep the flapper and third resonator
  19. Added 2017 Denali wheels. OEM GM from China sadly . Had 4,000 miles on them AND came with TPMS... paid $1500. Also, did the diode jumpers for the fogs on with all headlight settings and cargo lights on with reverse lights. https://500px.com/photo/229918661
  20. Got this done on my 17 Silverado. Thanks for all the pics! ?
