    So now that the conundrum has been solved I would hope that this statement from 1A-Auto would now be "NULL AND VOID"!! Brad

    Both wires were crimped together, separated wires soldered and all functions on both mirrors are working perfectly.

    How did you remove the upper glass without breaking it??

    The more I think about this the more irritated I become. I can see no reason for this splice but to purposely induce a short when both options are used simultaneously. When this first started happening I called 1A-auto to inquire with one of the Technicians. I had already narrowed it down to a short in the mirror. I just never figured the short would have been intentional. I hope I'm wrong but when it quacks like a duck.... I was asked to sent a pic of my door plug so they could verify my pins. Here is a copy of the email I got from 1A-Auto. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- to me Hello, Thank you for your assistance in providing this information. We will have an update for you within the next 24 to 48 hours. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Our goal is to have this resolved for you as quickly as possible. If at any time you would prefer to return the part for a refund, please let us know. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- to service I don't want a refund, but I do believe the drivers mirror has an internal short and would like to replace that mirror only. The other side (passenger) is wired exactly the same way and is functioning perfectly. Thanks, Brad ------------------------------------------------------ to me Hello, Mirrors should be replaced with an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, your driver side mirror has auto dimming and is the cause of the shortage you are describing. These are electrical parts and once installed are not returnable for a refund. While the passenger side is still under warranty the driver side warranty is now null and void.     Definitely on my list of troubleshooting ideas.. Just gotta find the time. For now I too look lopsided going down the road.. LOL We could just unplug the passenger side marker light.... NAAAAAAAAAA HaHa

    I'm pretty good with a Fluke, If I get the time to figure it out before anyone here I'll make sure to post my findings. Next I plan to go to the power fold plug in the door harness and start shooting wires back to the running lights.

    I was thinking the issue may be with the auto dim as only the drivers mirror has the problem. Auto dim is a driver mirror only feature. I disconnected the inside rear view mirror because uplifter showed it going straight into the door harness. however that did not solve the problem. the Fuse still blew. The auto dim pin out on my door harness was different than the uplifter schematic. I'm not at home right now so I can't look to see the specifics, but I will post them later.

    This is happening on my truck right now. {{ 2016 1500 LTZ }} Also the mirror schematic from upfitter for the mirror was not the same as my pin out. VERY FRUSTRATING!!
