  1. Do I find the M4 selection by touching on the - or the + on the lever for the pushing on the towing selector?? Sorry for my stupidity!
  2. Will pick it up this morning and give it a try! I barely notice the difference between v4 and v8 at highway speeds. Will pushing in the button for trailer tow do the same thing as driving in m4 or m5?
  3. Interesting topic now that the dealer tells me there is nothing they can do for my shudder issue. They tell me the shudder I am experiencing is due to the 8cyl., wanting to go to 4 cyl. when I first start up my vehicle after it sits for a period of time. I notice this at around 30 to 35 mph. After a short period of time, it will not shudder. I don't know why when it warms up some that everything seems as it should be. To me, there should be NO shuddering at all! I bought this 2017 Silverado brand new a couple of years ago. I only have 6500 miles on it and it has done this since day one. He tells me I can't hurt it and to drive it! Anyway, next vehicle may not be a Chevy!! Mine has the little button you can push for pulling a trailer. If I push that, will it then stay in 8 cyl. mode?
  4. Wellll, they finally called me at the end of the day today. Told me there really isn't anything wrong with it!! I can't explain it very well but was told it has to do with the 8 cyl. changing to 4 cyl. during the initial driving period. I don't really get it or why after a period of time, I don't notice the shuddering but they assure me it is doing what GM designed it to do and that if I would get on it and drive it a little harder, I wouldn't notice it. Also told me in 6 months I wouldn't notice it anymore. Don't know how that could be since I have owned it since it was brand new and still notice it! Soo, guess they are saying it is more to do with the firing or lack of firing of the cylinders than the transmission or TC. Does any of this make sense to you? Thanks again!
  5. Not sure what they are doing with my truck yet. Have had it all morning. Guess that might be a good thing as it makes me believe they are trying to figure it out. Regarding cheapo 20 inch tires and rims. I don't think the rims were to cheap but the tires are Wrangler (if I remember right)
  6. Well, today, took 2017 Chev. Silverado 6 speed with 6400 miles to dealer since they told me to bring it in and they would fix the shudder problem and I wouldn't have to leave it all night. As suspected, they wouldn't just change out the tranny fluid without a test drive and when they took it for a test drive couldn't get it to shudder. I told them it doesn't do it when it is warmed up----sooo they were nice enough to put me in a vehicle to drive home and they will then drive it tomorrow morning and see if they can duplicate the issue. They told me that if it was the tranny problem that I would notice it all the time and not just at certain speed and wouldn't matter if it was warmed up or not. That sure isn't how I understood the problem many are having. Mine seems to shudder somewhere around 25 to 35 mph and after a short warm up it seems to go away.
  7. I have had this shudder issue with my 2017 Silverado 6 speed trans. since day one. I only have 6000 miles on it now. First time I complained. Took it into local dealer about 2 years ago. They looked at it, had it over night. Told me it was "just the nature of the beast". A shudder in a brand new truck isn't anything that seems natural to me!! I have had many new vehicles and never experienced this issue before. Now, I have contacted the dealer I purchased it from and they are to look at it tomorrow. They have already told me that I wouldn't need to leave it all night as they new how to fix the issue! Here is hoping they are right!! I have a feeling when I get it there they will tell me I have the 6 speed trany and therefore no service bullitin on it and therefore they can't help me! Sure hope I am wrong!
  8. Appointment scheduled with the dealer for Monday. I was told by them that they are aware of the shudder or vibration issue and can fix it. Again, I have the 2017 6 speed not the 8 speed. I have a bad feeling, when I get there, they will tell me they have a service buletin for the 8 speed but nothing on the 6 speed so there really is nothing they can do! Stay tuned! Anyone else have a 6 speed with similar issue??
  9. Seems similar to my thoughts. How could a brand new truck have a shudder or vibration and nothing wrong with it. How could they let such a thing go uncorrected from the factory? Obviously, rhetorical questions but I will get back with the dealer and see if they can try to resolve the issue, again!
  10. I have the 6 speed 2017. Only 6000 miles on it. I have the shudder or shake when I first get it going down the road and noticeable at lower speeds. Once it warms up, doesn't seem to be evident. My dealer told me that there isn't any known issue with the 6 speed and therefore no solution!! Was told this 2 years ago. Has there been a change since then?
  11. Do you have the 8 speed?
  12. Well, after the dealer told me my hesitation/vibration issue is "just the nature of the beast". I sent an email to GM. I thought I was getting a "senior service advisor" but seems it was just a guy that was verifying my complaint. He then told me he would get the information on to GMC and I should be hearing from the dealer or someone from GMC. He couldn't tell me when that would happen. I was a little disgruntled. Mine is a 2017 Chev Silverado with only 5200 miles. I am confident it is a fluid issue in the TC because after the first 5 or 10 minutes of driving it, you don't feel the hesitation/vibration anymore.
  13. Now I am told by dealer that the TC problem didn't apply to my 6 speed transmission-----tells me it is just the nature of the beast and happens because GM is trying to squeeze out all the mpg they can. My next step will be contacting GM directly!
  14. Well, just got a call from dealer telling me that they first thought it might be the transmission but they checked and the transmission had already had the latest programming had already been done on it so they looked further and put some new programming in the ignition control model but that he really wasn't thinking that helped but to "help put my mind at ease" the technician told him he checked everything out and that it might just be "the nature of the beast"!! Seriously???? Never even offered to change out the fluid in the TC or offer anything else!
  15. Sounds a bit redundant but thought I just as well add my 2 cents. Have had my 2017 Chev. 1500 Silverado LTZ 4x4 with 5.3 since last year when I bought it new as a carry over with about 50 miles on it. It is a pretty truck and I couldn't figure out why it was still on the lot. I am beginning to understand why after reading many of the remarks on this thread. When I first drove the truck, I told the salesman I felt a little vibration and thought the tires needed balanced. He told me he would have them balanced for me before purchase and did. The vibration I am getting is especially noticeable at first start after it has cooled off. It seems to improve at the lower rpm's after a few minutes of driving. I still notice some vibration at highway speeds that still feels like a broken belt in a tire or something but am now wondering if that really is what it is. I only have 5000 miles on the truck and finally asked the dealer about the issue at the first oil and tire rotation. He told me there was no service bulletins on the issue! (after reading this thread--I am not sure what he had been smokin before telling me that)! Anyway, I took it to another dealer who immediately told me there are known issues with the TC and he has scheduled an appt. for this next Weds. I will take it in on Tuesday night so it can sit and be nice and cool for the test drive in the A.M. He assured me that the mechanics are aware of the issue and they wouldn't need to put any diagnostic equipment on the truck but rather would be able to tell by driving the vehicle. Stay Tuned! Thanks for listening and any other thoughts are appreciated.
