  1. Available for pick-up immediately. Excellent condition. Installed two years ago, right after truck purchase (6/2019). Installed by Suburban Caps in New Jersey. Price: $1500 Specific for: 2019 Sierra 1500 (New Body) Truck Bed Length: Standard Bed (79.2") Color: Black (matches GMC factory black) Options include: Yakima Roof Rails, lined interior sliding front window, ability to drop down entire front glass (on latches, allows you to clean/ access the truck cab rear window). Includes two keys. Outward facing windows have been tinted 20% over the ARE factory tint for additional privacy. PM me if you have any questions or if you'd like to make an offer. Buyer will need to come to West Chester, PA for pickup & bring someone to help with the lift.
  2. The stage 1 icons are longer than the factory struts. I had to remove all of the preload on my icons to get it to sit right (I have an ARE cap). For towing, I ended up installing bags, to keep it level.
  3. I still have my stock struts. I'm trying to minimize my down time, so I asked ICON to ship me the parts for the rebuild & found a shop in the Philly area to do the re-build. Also found a race suspension shop out on Long Island, NY & this sort of work looks like their bread and butter. Unfortunately, I don't have the tools or space (or experience) to perform this work, otherwise I would totally take the time to tackle it. I had also asked ICON if they would sell just the shock (without the spring) & they weren't up for it. I was thinking of keeping a spare shock & swap out the spring for these sort of situations. They double checked and with a modification the passenger side can be used on the driver side. However, they will only sell the complete coilover for $800. Thank you for the offer!
  4. 5k miles! Sounds like I'm lucky mine lasted this long (6 months, 14k miles). My issue is that it's my daily driver & I can't just leave it sitting on stands. So I'm thinking of having it rebuilt locally. Planning to have that conversation with ICON today to see if they'll honor it. I'm between NYC and Philly, so I figured there's got to be somebody who'd be willing to do the rebuild. Do you know anybody?
  5. @Flatblack83 Wondering how many miles you have on your stage 1 ICON coilovers thus far? After about 14,000 miles my passenger side coilover has started to leak fluid. I've started the warranty process with ICON...
  6. I don’t see why they would decline transmission service if it is under warranty or if it is preventative maintenance on the 8 speed transmission (especially considering new trucks are still getting the 8 speed). If the educated consumer is aware that transmission fluid exchange (drain/ fill, filter & gasket replacement) is recommended at 30K intervals, they should honor the request. The filter replacement is not part of their procedure and needs to be requested. Monitor for leaks after the work has been performed, because the mechanic may have over-torqued the transmission pan bolts, which could lead to a failed gasket & leak. If you come to them with a 100,000+ mile car or with transmission issues (which has not had regular service transmission service), I wouldn’t be surprised if they decline or recommend against the service. Otherwise, they may be held liable for a transmission failure after it has been serviced. I would just make it clear that you’re not interested in paying for the flush & specifically want the 20 quart fluid exchange with the ATF machine (without the use of aftermarket flush or additives). The shop foreman and mechanics are trained on the issues with these transmissions and should closely follow the prescribed service procedures or service bulletins. The service writers on the other hand may not be aware & so when scheduling the work the request needs to made clear and documented in the write up. Furthermore, I had to request the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF HP fluid (blue label), as they don’t stock it. This is my opinion.
  7. Oh man, the service writer is completely clueless. I printed, highlight, and showed him all of the relevant GM service bulletins & he completely disregarded them. One bulletin identified that GM does NOT recommend aftermarket additives and fluid flushes for normal service. The other being the procedure for the fluid exchange procedure using the ATF machine w/ 20 quarts of the Mobile Synthetic ATF HP fluid. Eventually, after not being able to deal with me any longer he called over the shop foreman & we had an in depth conversation about the 8 speed transmission bulletins. FINALLY, they agreed to use the Mobile 1 Synthetic ATF HP fluid (blue label). Fingers crossed for smooth operation and no leaks when I pick up the truck later today........ 8. I also had to give them a copy of this bulletin....because it looks like they did a flush instead of following the attached bulletin. I know I'm posting this in the wrong thread (I have a new platform truck). MC-10163241-9999.pdf
  9. I just had the dealership perform the transmission service on my 2019 Sierra 1500 5.3L 8-speed. Service was performed on Tuesday. Parts included: BG 6600 Transmission Flush kit ($47, includes 106BG & 310BG), Filter (GM Part No. 24274402), and Fluid (GM Part No. 88865601) Issues thus far: Last night I noticed an oil spot in my driveway, put some cardboard under the transmission pan, and drove it to the dealership this morning. They confirmed the pan was "seeping" and blamed it on a defective gasket. Looking at the parts list, they used the AC delco ATF. Should they be using the Mobile 1 Synthetic LV fluid per the 18-NA-355 bulletin?? Any help would be appreciated, because I'm about to blow my gasket.......... @bshort

  11. I just had this happen to me. This is after I towed a 4300 lb vehicle on a u-haul auto transport for about 120 miles. I dropped off the trailer, drove home, and it happened to me while decelerating to a stop; shift from 2 to 1 gear. I was able to reproduce it several times after that. I scheduled a service appointment to see a master tech. Any idea what is causing it?
  12. My truck was leveled out at about 1.5”. It actually sits 1/4” higher in the front right now, so I’m due back at the shop on Monday for a re-torque, final measurements, and any other needed adjustments. I actually stopped by the dealership yesterday & got a copy of the recommended alignment specs for my specific vehicle. I was curious to see how it differed from alignment after the kit was installed. So there are some slight discrepancies in caster and toe. The steering kind of settled in over the last day, but I feel like the steering is stiffer than what it used to be, prior to the install. Anyway here are some pics of how it came out. It’s sitting on a decline and looks good. It’s only when I park it on a bit of an incline Does it begin to look nose high & so I begin to wonder if I should have them bring it down to 1” of lift in the front. It’s weird with the GMCs because of the way the wheel well is designed and the aggressive grill, with the slightest lift It looks nose high.
  13. My experience is about the same with the improved handling (also on PA roads - had the kit installed in Dover, PA). Its about 4-5 threads above the spring collar (haven't taken a measurement - but just eyeballed it). I'm assuming it came set that way from the factory. Does that sound right to you? I'm still learning....Will take some pictures tomorrow
  14. @Flatblack83 I just had the ICON stage 1 kit installed on my 2019 Elevation Double Cab - with the front set at about 1.5" level. Loving the kit & how it rides. But I'm finding that the the it wanders a bit at highway speeds & the steering is a bit dull. What has been your experience with steering? Do you still have a copy of the alignment report? Thanks!
  15. Not yet at the point where I'm willing to lemon law the truck. I have a 100k warranty on it, ARE cap, and clear bra on the hood/ bumper. If I continue to have issues, then I will start considering lemon law. Thus far, the GM dealership in Carlisle, PA have been taking pretty good care of me. I'm hoping the software issues will eventually be resolved. I'm reading on another thread that many of brake assembly issues are starting to tie back to the remote start on these vehicles...
  16. Remote start this morning from the GM app, to also find a check engine light. Took it to the dealer, code P25A2 was stored "Check BSCM for codes - all communication codes, Check connections at BSCM and ECM). Everything checked out OK and they cleared the codes. (BSCM - Brake System Control Module) Today, they cleared the code and reset the check engine light. No other work was performed. The dealer has already replaced the brake assembly module, concurrent with the same week back in December when they issued the recall (picked up the truck on 12/19). Originally, they replaced the brake assembly module due to a faulty brake pad wear sensor, which screwed up the programming of the brake assembly. Since they couldn't troubleshoot it - they had to replace the entire assembly. All these problems started after a routine oil change back in November, at which time they addressed a brake system recall. I've had the truck for almost 6 months & have put about 15,000 miles on it. Even if I wanted to trade it in at this point, I would still owe GM almost $15k.
