Ive had wheels off shortly after i had it to take wheel skins off and i didnt notice anything with the brakes themselves. Stops just fine. Its a z71 i almost wonder if it hasn't have something to do with the downhill assist. The other day pulling into work the road has a slight grade to it and a caught a glance of the "downhill assist has been activated" (thats what i think i saw but cant say for sure as i was watching for traffic) idk but its rather unsettling as i pulled out in traffic and it did it with a expensive car behind me. When getting up to speed in town (30 mph) sometimes the back breaks will lock up for a split second to the point the tires screech. I bought the truck 7 months ago and its done it maybe 4 or 5 times. I love the looks of a slightly lowered truck that still keeps its functionality and ride quality. They look so tough! Cant wait to see it done. If my wife would let me I'd have a mid 80s short box lowered. Nothing to crazy just want that muscle truck look. Sent from my SM-J337R4 using Tapatalk

It all really depends on what value you place on it. I'd say get it running on the cheap and make a fun little fishing/hunting beater out of it. Share the good ol memories you have in it with your children as your making new ones with them. But then again this is all based off the value you have it. No one here is going to be able to give the right answer. Do what's best for YOU. I'm only 29 but when I was 15 my family lost everything when my dad got sick. I was on my own whith a travel bag full of clothes at 17. I really wish I had some of the old junk that was around the house from my childhood now. This was a major issue with fords a few years back. The grease would dry up making the slip joint bind up sounded alot like a u joint clunk and/or a rear end. They sold grease kits to fix it. Heard guys putting their own grease zerks on them. Sent from my SM-J337R4 using Tapatalk
