  1. The driver side mirror stopped dimming on my 2018. Are there any fixes or recommended troubleshooting steps? I did a search on the forum and couldn't find any matching references, so I'm afraid this is not a common or known issue.
  2. On a round trip ATL-->NOLA-->ATL in my 2018 w/ 6.2L w/ 4wd loaded with 4 people and luggage (three girls, so LOTS of luggage, LOL!) I averaged 25.5mpg for the entire round trip. Speed was around 75mph, tires are the stock 22" Bridgestone Duellers at 35psi. Granted that's a fairly "flat" drive most of the way, but I was stunned that you could get that kind of mileage out of a 420HP 6.2L 4x4!
  3. Here's a fairly active buy/sell/trade groups on FB: Silverado / Sierra ONLY Parts/Trucks for Sale | Facebook (13.7k members) And Frankie is a good guy to deal with... I've bought stuff from him before too.
  4. Thanks for that. But as I read it, it's due to warranty coverage... so if your truck is outside of the specified warranty limits (time/miles), why would this still apply? I know I'm preaching to the choir, but dang, this is ridiculous. They're turning down work for their techs, parts sales for their dealers, and possibly turning away future customers for the brand. Hopefully it's just a Canadian thing...
  5. This makes absolutely no sense to me... did GM provide an explanation of their logic to come to this policy?
  6. You can do this if you use USB connection for at least one of the phones... my daughter does it all the time to run her Spotify play list (rap, ugh!). ? I have my phone plugged in for CarPlay screen projection for navigation and phone calls, and she connects via bluetooth (or USB). She just selects her phone as the audio source for music playback. Both phones are iphone in our case, but I don't think it makes a difference.
  7. Thanks for this. I removed and reseated the ECM and it's working now... must have been some corrosion or some other poor connection. So yes to confirm, this is connected from the factory on the K2XX models. Thanks!
  8. Anyone have any updates on this? I have the fuse in the #2 spot, but no power to the fuse. I don't find any wiring taped up to the loom. Has anyone been successful with this?
  9. Same here on my 2018... I took it in for service several weeks ago and the dealer said it was to specification. The service rep agreed with me that it doesn't cool very effectively, but there's nothing they could do. ?
  10. Looking to try the Range RA002 AFM booster (yeah, I know... the opposite of what most people want). If you happen to have one that you no longer use and would want to part with, please send me a PM. Thanks!
  11. Does it come with programming instructions or should I just search youtube? ?
  12. A few questions: 1. Is this the SMX- GM725M kit for Magneride trucks? The picture would indicate as such, but just want to make sure. 2. Does this require re-alignment of the front end? 3. Do you know if there are any GM warranty implications? I'm interested, just need to confirm those items. Thanks!
  13. Ahhhh...yeah. Not going to work for me. Thanks for the clarification!
  14. If this fits my truck, I'm always looking for more storage space and would take you up on it, but where does it go? I don't recognize it.
  15. Go Dawgs! You're a long way from the Classic City...
  16. Agreed that hydroplaning results from too much speed for the given tire and conditions... nothing really to admit there since it's plain physics. Was I driving faster than what the tires would allow... obviously yes, but in my 40+ years of driving I have NEVER had a front end break loose so easily at such a low speed. I'll adjust accordingly from now on, but I only posted because it was so unusual and to see if this was common experience with larger rims or these tires, since both are the new variables for me. Snow on the other hand, these tire were great...
  17. Dueler A/T 285/45-22's. I'm thinking the "plain terrible on wet pavement" is probably right!
  18. Yeah, that's what I was thinking/hoping, but was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. If it's just the tire that's easily remedied at next tire purchase (which may be sooner than required now!), but if it's a rim size/sidewall stiffness issue or something else that gets a little more pricey. I was considering moving to 20's (or even 18's) next time to get a little more sidewall, but if hydroplaning tendency increases with rim size that would also add weight to the changeover decision. I know hydroplaning is a speed issue, but I was intentionally limiting speed to within what was acceptable and reasonable from experience with my prior vehicle(s). It was just shocking in this instance at how easily the front end broke loose at such a low speed (40-45mph or so). It could also be that it's a much lighter vehicle (1/2 ton vs 1 ton) with a much larger contact patch.
  19. Holy $h/t.... had a wild ride yesterday for the first time in fairly heavy rain. I knew it was heavy water and was driving an appropriate speed for the weather, but almost lost the front end...twice! Stock 22's with the OEM Bridgestones with 20k miles on them, so plenty of tread left. Is this normal? I'm coming off driving Michelin LTX's (on 16" rims) for the last 20 years, and never had any issues like this. Is this normal for 22's, or just this tire?
  20. I'm glad to know it's not just me... I find them to be marginal at best. It also seems that after sitting in them a while the foam or something compresses and reduces airflow. If you shift your body weight or contact points it will feel cool again for a few minutes and then go back to nothing.
  21. On my 6.2L I don't even notice the changeover other than a slight change in sound (Borla exhaust probably amplifies the difference though). I'm averaging 17.6 MPG in combined city/hwy driving, and on a recent round trip ATL-NOLA averaged 24.6mpg... from a 6.2L! I attribute that mostly to the AFM.
  22. I'd at least try before replacing... use wood blocks of a larger size than just a hammer. You could probably get it at least really close.
  23. @Ravenkeeper, thanks for digging this up!
