  1. This is what I managed to track down. The part the affected me is in the important part near the bottom GM Techline Information for Branded Title/Warranty Blocked Vehicles To: All General Motors of Canada Dealers Attention: Service and Parts Department Personnel cc: Dealer Operator Subject: GM Techline Information for Branded Title/Warranty Blocked Vehicles Section 1.5 of the GM Canada Service Policies and Procedures Manual indicates that the New Vehicle Limited Warranty is void on any vehicle with a title that has currently or previously been branded as, but not limited to, salvaged, scrapped (irreparable), rebuilt, junked, totaled (written off) or stolen. Only transactions for repairs covered by the Emissions Warranty and/or recalls will be processed. A Warranty Block may be applied to such vehicles and thus Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) must be used to verify warranty coverage. We would like to clarify that although the GM Techline Customer Support Centre (TCSC) is unable to provide programming or vehicle configuration support on Warranty Blocked vehicles, they will provide support for the following situations: Safety, Non-Compliance and Emissions Recalls Emission Control Systems Warranty A Warranty Block may also be applied if GM has determined that vehicle modification, damage or misuse has occurred which may impact all or select vehicle components or systems. Vehicle modifications which may initiate a Warranty Block includes Non-GM (Aftermarket) calibrations. If aftermarket calibrations are suspected, Service Agents should refer to the procedures outlined in the bulletins below to verify the presence of non-GM calibrations in the vehicle. #09-06-04-026 #20-NA-090 2005-2006 Chevrolet Corvette with any V8 Gasoline Engine 2007-2020 Passenger Cars and Light Duty Trucks with any V8 Gasoline Engine 2012-2020 Passenger Cars and Light Duty Trucks with any HFV6 Gasoline Engine 2019-2020 Passenger Cars and Light Duty Trucks with 2.0L (RPO LSY) or 2.7L (RPO L3B) Gasoline Engines 2019-2021 Light Duty Trucks with 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engines (RPO L5D, L5P) #17-NA-100 2017-2019 Light Duty Trucks with 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engines (RPO L5P) #16-NA-325 2016-2021 Light Duty Trucks with 2.8L Duramax Diesel Engine (RPO LWN) #14-06-04-003 2014-2016 Light Duty Trucks with 6.6L Duramax Diesel Engines (RPO LGH or LML) #08-06-04-006 2006-2013 Duramax Diesel Engines (RPO LB7, LBZ, LLY, LML, LMM, or LGH) IMPORTANT: Please note that certain GM accessories require a change to the vehicle’s as-built configuration to enable that feature (i.e. Remote Start, Fog Lamps etc.). Due to the limitation of support permitted for vehicles on Warranty Block, installation of such accessories will not be possible as TCSC are not authorized to alter the vehicle’s “as-built” configuration. No Exceptions are Permitted. If in doubt, please confirm eligibility by contacting TCSC prior to the sale and installation of the accessory. Further information on Voided Warranties and Branded Titles, can be found in Section 1.5 of the GM Canada Service Policies & Procedures Manual. The Techline Customer Support Centre (TCSC) can be reached at 1-800-828-6860 English or 1-800-503-3222 French. 2. I have been a lurker using the info from this group to help with by 2015 Sierra, and figured its time to post something. This is a warning for anyone who wants to add remote start, and maybe other features, to their truck that needs GM to do programming. If you have a truck that is listed as rebuilt (written off due to damage, but was repaired, verified and put back on the road), GM will no longer do any programming changes. I recently pickup up the remote start kit from my local GM dealer, installed it and took it in for programming. The said they can't do it as GM is refusing to make any changes. After talking to GM, its true. So, if you want to add anything and you have a rebuilt, 3rd party is your only option. Now I get the fun of trying to return a part that was already installed.
