  1. Install is done. Went ok. The 10mm nut holding intake housing box is kinda a pain. Need a small socket set or wrench. The intake cupler was a pain to get around the intake. Fit and finish is good. Man does it suck in air. You can definitely hear the difference. If u have an after market exhaust it just enhances it.
  2. Brother. I’m at work!! Wife sent text at 6 pm. Said it showed up. I’ll install tomorrow and get pics.
  3. Totally agree with you on this. 4.3l needs the 10 spd. And I would LOVE to test OUR theories on this. But sadly GM I heard is getting rid of the 4.3L. If they would nut up. They should drop it into the Colorado/Canyon. Perfect HP/TQ starting point for that platform. Thanks for having a great conversation without being a total douche-bag like another person on this forum. Take care! Have a great weekend.
  4. Your first statement was what I was going off of, because you stated that the V8 is running on reduced cylinders. Well my 6.2L just changed over from V4 to V8 or what ever other "V" it was in and its RPM's don't change thus getting better FE because it doesn't have to downshift. In a smaller engine it would. I've seen it first hand with both GM v8's and 2 Trailblazer motors. The TQ just wasn't there to keep it in the cruise speed going up hills or a head wind. As for the 4.3 with the 10 speed, I agree with you that it would wake it up a bit. I still don't know why GM is lackadaisical when it comes to putting in the 10 spd with their lower trim truck and the new HD 6.6L gasser. That truck would be a monster with the 10 spd. My whole argument was that even if the 4.3L got the 10 spd vs a 5.3L with a 10 spd. In the real world the 5.3L wouldn't shift as much going up hills/mountians and facing a head wind like the V6 would. And also, I totally agree with you on Furds. I can't stand them, had one in the family and was total junk, won't go back.
  5. I understand that more gears equals lower rpm. You’re not understanding me. When a smaller engine doesn’t have the HP and especially TQ the larger engine has. It will have to downshift more, causing it to burn more fuel. If your talking about 2 of the same engines but one with 6 , 8, or 10. Then of course the 10 will be best. U obviously didn’t comprehend my previous posts.
  6. Ok genius. When the truck downshifts it’s puts it into a higher RPM range thus making the engine drink more fuel. You are totally wrong in this.
  7. No it won’t. It will shift down even more because it’s lacking the TQ to keep it in that gear! Sure in a test lab and a controlled environment it would but in the real world it would fall flat on its face pushing that much mass around and dealing with the elements. Wind and hills kills smaller motors. Another fact. I had 2 trailblazers. One with a 4.2L and one with a 5.3L. The V8 got better mileage because it never downshifted like the I6 did. It’s not rocket science. Have you ever driven the Ford 3.3 with a 10 spd?? After your done. You will never want to again. Shifts all the time.
  8. I like the LT interior. A lot of soft touch material Way better than the plastic in a Tundra. The tundra has none! Plus it’s been the same since 2007 basically. GMwill freshen the interior up for those that need it 2022. I personally like it in my HC. It’s simple and easy to use. The layout is great and interior space is way more useful than the K2. I don’t need a 12 inch screen that will have more issues down the road than Jerry Springer episode.
  9. I had a 17 5.3L and an 18 6.2l both 8 spd trannys both 3.42. I ran E85 in 5.3L and yes it made a huge difference, but it would not beat my 6.2l. That's a fact!!! Did it close the gap. Absolutely, but I also lost almost 3 mpgs using E85 instead of regular fuel. So my MPGs were almost 5 mpgs less in the 5.3 compared to the 6.2 driving interstate 29
  10. Gm's website allows you to get 2WD WT with a V8 but they are in long bed configurations. Either V6 or V8 No more short beds I would still argue that a 2WD V6 WT would not beat a 4WD V8 WT in being faster....maybe in MPGs but in real world, it would be about the same. The real world makes a huge difference on these engines. So much different than in a lab on a dyno. Especially when factoring in wind and hills/mountains.
  11. IDK for sure, I'll check GMs website, but I was referring to the CrewCab trucks. The V6 works harder moving the mass more than the V8 does. Especially in the real word. In a lab, of course the V6 would do better, its a controlled environment.
  12. A V6 used as a TRUCK will not do AS WELL of a job as a V8 will do. If you take a WT single cab truck and run it 60 mph against a same truck with a 5.3L. The V6 will not get as good of gas mileage as that V8, because the V6 is working harder to move the mass of the truck. It’s the same thing in CC configuration. 2 guys at work have almost same truck but with different engines. The V8 outperforms the V6 in every way and gets better mpgs because it’s not working as hard as the V6 is when trying to move even more mass in CC configuration. you also have to take into consideration weather and climate. An engine in a lab is way different than an engine in real world. When you have wind it adds to more drag on the truck making the V6 work even harder than the V8. or let’s talk about hills. The more hills you go up the more the truck downshifts. The more downshifting, the more fuel used. A V8 will not need to downshift as much because of it’s TQ. The V6 will and use more fuel. I’ve seen this first hand. I drive interstate 29 to my lake house. I had 2 identical trucks. One with a 5.3L 8 spd and one with the 6.2l 8 spd. The 6.2L beat the 5.3L in mpgs every time because when going up hills it never had to downshift The extra 80ft lbs of TQ help it from downshifting. I love the 4.3L motor. It’s a powerhouse. I will never dog it. Heck I have it in my stingray boat. Love the motor. But if I had the choice to get the boat with a V8. I’d choose the V8 because of the TQ it has to pull me up out of the water slalom skiing. The V6 still gets me out of the water but it’s challenging at first. The V8 snaps you right up.
  13. That’s fine. I’ll get! As soon as YOU GET BENT!
  14. Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. Really nice numbers from your truck. What app are you using for the 0-60 times?
  15. It is for me. Now try winding someone else’s clock. Do you enjoy trying to get a rise out of people? Don’t you get enough attention from your wife and dog? TO ME you’re not funny, and that’s all that matters TO ME. Have a great day!
  16. Agreed on the optimistic part by car magazines but it gives us general consumers an idea. I am very eager to get my S&B CAI on and see the performance it makes with the Corsa Exhaust. I know it’s not huge numbers by any means but if it’s like my 18. You can tell a difference when both were on it compared to stock.
  17. Ugh. That stinks man. I have waited over 2months for mine. It’s in route Per UPS tracking# and supposed to be here Friday. If this new one is as good as my 18s was. It’s worth the wait.
  18. I agree with you but I would like to see a HC Silverado or GMC Denali with the performance package vs a limited F150. Car and driver had the Furd at 5.1 secs to 60 and the Silverado at 5.3 secs without the package. After just installing my Corsa exhaust and seeing how restrictive the stock flappers are. My father and I couldn’t believe that almost 50% of the exhaust is still restricted even when fully open. I am willing to bet it can make up those .2secs. Would be interesting to see or race.
  19. I never stated loud equals performance. Heck look at all those turd 90s fastback 5.0 mustangs out there and where out there in the 90s that sounded great but weren’t very fast. And the fast ones at the track seem to have a small block Chevy as there replacement. Oh, but it’s still a Ford! SMFH I just stated a small block Chevy V8 with a great exhaust sounds fantastic.
  20. You can’t deny the sound of a great small block V8 though!! My 6.2l with Corsa exhaust sounds amazing. Guy next door has a corvette and even he is impressed on how ANGRY it sounds now when starting it up!
  21. The 4.3L belongs in the Colorado and Canyons. I’ve said it for years. That’s the motor that truck deserves. Then the ZR2 needs the 5.3l as an option. Thing would be a complete beast with it in it. GM needs to step up there game with some performance trucks. Street and off-road worthy
  22. Awesome! Congrats on your purchase, let me know how you like it and Ill post pic when mine is in. Take care
  23. So after over 2 months of waiting. Just got email confirming my CAI shipped out yesterday. Estimated arrival time is Friday!
  24. These are the comments I come here to see. People who actually own the truck and have driven it to enjoy it. Real world seat time. The T1 drives so much better than the K2 trucks. Looks are subjective but I think they look really aggressive. Kudos to GM for going outside the box on a very “controversial” design that I really like.
