  1. Through Realtrucks.com they took my order without knowing they were on backorder. Wasn't very happy. Called their customer service lady and she assured me they have the order, so I also called S & B to verify my order number and mailing address and the woman there was very helpful and stated they production was on halt because of the pandemic, but assured me they were going to be ramping up production beginning of August. Then Realtrucks just sent me delivery estimate on both the CAI and Corsa Exhaust on 14th and 17th of this month.
  2. @flyingfool Do you read for comprehension? I already stated I have CAI and Exhaust..... Plus I am not looking into digging internally into the engine. Just want a nice power boost. You do realize that this engine is almost identical to the one in the corvette and camaro and they make 455HP. So there is around that 30/35HP to tap into. @ Jay P Well, after credits and all $3k for a tune is nowhere near $8k the other gentleman was talking about. Man I go from talking about a tune, to this gentlemen rambling about doing an entire engine and tranny upgrade.
  3. Maybe it's just me, but where are you getting $8K.....please explain Where are you gonna get a warranty with a supercharger? I'm intrigued, no dealerships around my area offers them
  4. I couldn't agree with you more! When I tuned my 2018 Sierra 6.2L it was a whole new beast. The engine ran so much smoother being in V8 mode constantly. I also got 1 mpg better with my fuel economy. The only thing I didn't touch was the transmission. I would love to have the extra 30+ HP/TQ on hand and still have it very reliable. Some might not think 30 HP/TQ is worth it, but from "ME" who had one that was tuned compared to when it was not tuned. I would spend the $2k only if/knowing that all the bugs are worked out on these new ones. That's why I started this thread asking if anyone had spent the money yet?
  5. If you consider people paying $2200 for GMs Performance Package, than around $2000 isn't that bad and will likely get you better than 15 HP and 8TQ gain from the GMs Performance Package. I have over $1600 in my S & B CAI and Corsa Exhaust. So $400 more isn't horrible. I wanna know "HOW" much gain from this though and if anyone has done it.
  6. I am really wanting a little extra HP/TQ from my 2019 Silverado without a supercharger right now, and was searching the internet for tuning and HP Tuners dropped their pricing to $1399 instead of $1999. My question though is how much HP/TQ are they getting out of these new T1 trucks with a tune? Has anyone pulled the trigger on this yet? $1400 is getting a bit more reasonable now, especially if its a good gain in HP/TQ. I know my 2018 truck gained 27/23 from a tune.
  7. My 2017 Sierra SLT had all the safety and convenience packages. When I traded it for my 2018 Sierra with the 6.2L, I gave that up and it didn't offer it. I didn't care about the lane departure, but I missed the driver alert and cooled seats. My new High Country Silverado has it all and I won't go back. The driver alert with the HUD is awesome, and the cooled seats are a must in the summer with black interior. The lane departure is better than it was on my 2017. Especially with the size of these hoods, and just sheer size of truck, having all these safety features, really makes parking easier. My little sister was back yesterday and drove the truck and at first was very overwhelmed by size of truck, but after being in it, parking it with the camera (all of the different angles you have on tap) she felt very comfortable.
  8. Awesome, good deal! Glad nothing was wrong with the intake or your truck. Mine is still on back order! UGH!!! S & B states it will be shipped out August 14th. Same time my new Corsa Exhaust comes in. So I can put them on at same time.
  9. I went with the Corsa Dual Sport Exhaust today. Pulled the plug on it. I wanted the sound to be a bit louder than GM's performance exhaust. I called Borla today on their S-type but they don't have it for a Crew Cab standard bed. I had Gibson on my last truck and loved that deep tone it had, but they also don't offer it for my truck. So I went with Corsa, and after research I think I will be happy.(Fingers Crossed) Had a 10% COUPON code so I got the exhaust for $1300 and my S & B CAI is still on back order, supposed to be here August 15th. So $1650 in all for both. My buddy has always put Corsa on all his vehicles, and I have enjoyed the sound from them.
  10. So spend $90+ for dealership to install and gain 2 years/24k miles on warranty. Man GM find every way to get you don't they!!!
  11. I just drove a 3.0L baby Duramax in a 2020 Denali on Monday at Billion Auto while my cousin was getting a 2018 GMC Duramax. It was very quiet when starting up and driving. The throttle response was very good for a diesel. Nothing like my 6.2L but very linear. The salesman said a guy in Oregon took one of these diesels, folded in the mirrors, kept speed at 60 mph and received over 40 mpgs in a test run of over 400 miles. Didn't care about how fast he was going and just drove it gently. Pretty impressive I was impressed as well, but I just bought my 6.2L. I think if I would have driven this before my 6.2L I would have strongly considered just for the MPGs sake. My new 6.2L hasn't gotten over 20 mpgs yet. My 2018 with a 8 spd and 6.2L got 23 to 24 mpgs all day long running 60 to 70 mph
  12. I am too very interested for my high country. My 2018 Sierra SLT had the GM headrest that got thrown in on purchase from GM because I had issues with my other GM truck, and my kiddos loved them. The new ones have an HDMI adapter built in and are larger than the 2014-2018 models. They are quite pricey though at $1500 https://www.shopchevyparts.com/electronics/2019-silverado-1500-rear-seat-infotainment-system-with-dvd-player-jet-black-leather-high-country/84556201-p-92303598.html
  13. Mine is still on back order because of this Covid $h!t. Not happy, but Melissa from S & B told me there production is running overtime, it's just that there supplies are low. By end of month she said they should have everything back at full force. She asked if I wanted my money back, I told her no, but that I was concerned with Realtrucks.com because I purchased the CAI through them. She said she sees my order, and has all correct billing address. So fingers crossed they send it out around my birthday on 8/4!! That would be a great b-day present. I had one on my 2018 Sierra and loved it though. MPGs stayed the same. The sound, throttle response, and just "strength" of the engine felt better. It felt like the engine didn't have to work as hard when accelerating. Just ran smoother and stronger. BTW.....Realtrucks.com takes orders without knowing where production is at. I told their customer service lady, they shouldn't place orders like that. They can't take money from someone and not know that CAI is on back order! She apologized and are looking into ordering things a better way. It's been 5 weeks since I placed the order....ugh
  14. I am still waiting on the info on how he tuned his 2.7L? Who did he go with? Please share with us
  15. Most people who have trucks, aren't taking them "Serious" off-roading. They are using their trucks as family haulers. I like running boards because when my kids where littler, they used them to get in and out of truck, heck my 8 year old still loves jumping up on them. I find them handy also to use to get in and out of truck. Just makes it a bit easier to slide in and out of. I also like them because they cut down on the rock chips. One reason I chose stationary boards because of this. My buddy had an 18 Escalade with retractable boards, and the amount of rock chips he had compared to his 16 that had stationary boards was ridiculous. Yes, I know retractable boards can be set to stay out, but then you might as well saved yourself tons of $$ by choosing the stationary boards in the first place. If you do "Serious" off-roading, they can always be taken off and sold on Craigslist for a profit, or you can buy the ones that protect the side of the truck more. To each their own!!
  16. My 2018 Sierra SLT with 6.2L had a Hypertech tune and it was rated at 27HP/23TQ. I purchased it for $300 through Autoanything, and it was quite impressive for a plug and play system. Their staff is super knowledgeable and easy to work with. They basically tune the truck to it's full potential, then cut back 20% for safety purposes, is what the tech told me. I also had cat-back exhaust and S & B CAI on it. I was leaning towards BlackBear, but from what I read, even they couldn't re-tune the tranny at that time, and their gains were not much more than Hypertech. So I saved over $300, and I chose them mainly because of AFM and speedo re-calibration. It exceeded my expectations, and for the price it was unbeatable in my opinion. Wish GM wouldn't have made their new trucks so hard to tune. Most of us just want a simple bump in HP/TQ, along with adjustments of the speedo.
  17. During the summer time during college, I would help my buddy who owns a tint shop and we both used to tint our windshields 35%. The amount of UV protection, along with heat rejection was awesome. We used to tint windshields inside the vehicles all the time, BUT, with the amount of electronics in these newer vehicles the "RISK" isn't worth it, I know first hand, I have seen a GMC Denali come back with messed up electronics in the dash! It cost my buddy almost $2k to have it fixed. He is not a guy who argues or wants to fight with the customer. He quite professional! He called the local Chevy dealership who he works with for tint jobs on new/used vehicles that are sold, and they admitted it was messed up. So if someone wants it tinted from now on. He does it outside of the vehicle. Meaning......if someone needs a new windshield installed, he will do it, then have it installed at the glass shop next door, or if you wanna pay $200 to have it removed, then reinstalled he would do that. I love my front windshield tinted.....it's the best, but last month, I wouldn't do it because of this reason, if I ever need a new windshield, it will get done though!! I only have a 5% strip along the top of the windshield now that goes evenly with the rear-view mirror mount The other problem with tinting a windshield is that it requires a large amount of water for the tint to move properly on the glass without causing glue marks on the window and/or creases in the tint. Even when he has put down sheet after sheet on the dash, it still gets saturated pretty good. Before someone on here states that he doesn't know what he is doing. He has been in business over 25 years, and actually went to Vegas and competed in there tinting contests in the 90's and placed, so he knows how to tint! I actually get a kick out of going to tint shops when I see them in certain towns and will go there and ask questions, and also ask to see their work and it's always entertaining to see other peoples work. Some is very good, while others....not so much.
  18. That's awesome man. With those numbers you can hang with the 2.7L ecobust from Furd. I didn't know you could tune a 2.7L?? Wonder why they allow them to be tuned and not the 5.3L and 6.2L without paying out of our @$$es for it?? Or did you have to send yours into HP Tuners?
  19. WOW!!! Those are some pretty impressive numbers. All the magazines 0-60 times were at around 7 secs. So you're telling me that a tune, exhaust, and CAI, plus, you have your truck lifted with bigger tires and you knocked off 1.4secs!?!? That's amazing man! GM has a winner for sure on their hands if that is the case. Congrats on those upgrades because you FOR SURE got your money's worth with those upgrades. Just imagine if you upgraded the turbo on that thing. I remember my buddy had a 2013 Limited Furd 3.5L ecoboost, and he replaced the turbine wheels with bigger ones and the gains were unreal. Maybe you could do that with yours?? Would love to see you find a Trailboss with a 5.3L and one with a 6.2L and see how they stack up against yours, since yours has a lift was well. My dealership doesn't have any in stock. Kinda disappointed. They don't even have any 3.0L baby Duramax's in either. All they have here are 5.3Ls and 6.2Ls. Might have to stop at Billion Auto on my way to the lake house this weekend and take one of theirs for a drive. Take care and again congrats.
  20. Take out. Pull mounting bars apart. Switch headrests from left to right. Problem solved
  21. Beautiful truck!! You'll love the 6.2L. I have a sunroof in my truck, and I truly hardly ever use it. Especially when there is someone in the passenger seat because the sun just beats down on them. Wife doesn't like it at all. So no sunroof isn't a deal breaker. Did you go with the GM CAI and Exhaust??
  22. I love chrome more than black by FAR!! But here in the Midwest, I have gone through 2 sets of chrome wheels on my trucks. And I wash them every time it snows! My last pair were from wheelpros, they warrantied but it's the cr@p they put down here on the roads. So that is why I went with black BUT with chrome inserts. I like them but they are nowhere near as attractive as chrome wheels. And yes all these ALL black wheels look like New York City Taxi cab steel black wheels. Look so unattractive to me.
  23. Have you tried craigslist? Here is a set here in Lincoln NE off an AT4...good price too https://lincoln.craigslist.org/pts/d/lincoln-running-boards/7157622773.html
  24. I'm interested in this BCM info. Would love my new truck to do 130 like my old one. Please share your info with us
  25. I have read nothing but good things about this motor. I think GM hit a home run on this motor. Really glad they took their time on it, did lots of research, and built it from the ground up. Unlike what Furd did with their diesel and just brought it over from Land Rover. Congrats on the truck MPG's.
