I made the below post on a different thread. They are ordering me a new one and frankly since it was on full rebate I may just sell it...or throw it out and go with one that sits on the rails... After waiting over a month on the Rev cover, I had it installed at the dealer today. It ended coming right off. As OP said the fit and finish on these are HORRIBLE. I'm glad I have it the once over before leaving because the tailgate didn't even meet up with the end of the cover. OK, lets just shimmy it back. Check the front...gaps galore...seemingly missing rubber? In the front, the flap doesn't sit flush in the corners and in the back, its not flush and there seems to be more rubber missing there. They are giving me all sorts of issues because I used the $1000 Truck Month incentive to order this, so they don't know how to "return" it. I'm not sure if I want to wait however long since they are still on backorder. The Bakflip MX4 looks great with the reinforced caps at the corners...

GM Performance Exhaust Drone
Unique_NY replied to bamorris2's topic in 2019/2020 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
In my couple weeks with the Borla Touring (GMPE equivalent) I haven't heard any drone. Only thing I've noticed is that when coming slowing to a stop at about 11-16 MPH I get a downshift that I can hear quite prominently through the exhaust. Usually its accompanied by a tiny squeal/chirp too which I find kind of annoying. -

This and your previous post, I don't think we're talking about the Rearview Camera/mirror. I'm guessing OP is talking about his sideview mirror as he mentioned tints, but posted a picture only of his rearview mirror. Unless his back glass is tinted in which he should be using the rearview camera in that case...which leads me to believe we're talking about the sideview mirror. Also the camera display doesn't auto dim when it's on. The auto dimming is only for when the regular mirror is engaged. Finally, I was talking about the mirror itself, not the DRZ/CWM functionality. Another case which I was confused on why he would have trouble seeing out the mirror, if he has the rear camera display...again leading me to believe we're still talking about sideview mirrors. That being said, I'm not sure where the sideview mirror dimming sensor is. I have a feeling there is a sensor on that mirror itself and it doesn't feed off of the rearview mirror's sensor. I looked at mine and couldn't determine, usually there is a little dot you can see under the glass.

Last night I was trying to do some rough testing by covering up that part on the mirror with my thumb and it seemed to un-dim. Tough to tell 100% though while I was trying to drive. Slap a piece of electrical tape over this sensor and see if that works for you. Also, do they put these mirrors in all the LTZ's even if you don't have the Tech Package? You don't have the Reverse Camera Mirror....if you pull the tab towards you? I pretty much use the camera exclusively, its really nice.

You have to leave it in L9.

I like these ones a lot. On my '17 Sierra All Terrain I have the 4" round black ones. They got kind of slippery in the rain and snow. These ones are wide and still classy looking on the LTZ. Wheel to wheel definitely helps in the front of the bed.

Towing a 30+ foot travel trailer?
Unique_NY replied to R J's topic in 2019 / 2020 Silverado & Sierra
I have been towing my travel trailer that is about 38' tongue to bumper and about 9100 LBS with my '17 Sierra 5.3L All Terrain. It is completely worth it to spend the money for a high quality weight distribution hitch that includes sway control (I have a 12000LB rated Husky Center Line TS). I've driven through storm, wind and rain just fine with hardly anything I'd call a white-knuckle experience. My personal experience might not match others. This year I purchased a 2021 Silverado LTZ 6.2L with Max Tow. It is more than capable of taking over the duties of towing the trailer for my use, which is not as often, like yours. I've seen these kinds of threads on truck forums and travel trailer forums alike. Everyone is going to have an opinion and it's usually pretty split. For 3-4 camping trips a year? I'd say no sweat at all. -

FYI - The 2019-20 Borlas Fit 2021
Unique_NY posted a topic in 2019/2020 Engine, Driveline, & Exhaust
I emailed Borla asking if they could confirm their current 2019-20 would work on the 2021's. I mean come on, nothing has changed, but they could not confirm. On the advice of @econometrics I went ahead and bought Borla part number 140771 (Touring) for my 2021 6.2 LTZ. Not a problem at all! Went with the Touring because I was just looking for a deeper note and growl without the bark of S-Type or ATAK. Plus I tow a travel trailer and that would not have been pleasant for extended trips.
