  1. So as you can read, I recently wired up the console. Phil had mentioned that I may need to get my HMI reprogrammed for everything to work as it should. Probably too expensive for me at this point. At least I have the two USB ports in the console that work. My problem is that out of all the USB drives I have lying around, only one will actually work properly. The other ones will play the first song on the drive over and over. Any ideas on why they don't work? I have tried reformatting them. I have tried different brands and sizes. I bought a 64gb and a 32gb today in two different brands and neither one worked. They do work perfect in my computer though. What do you guys think?
  2. Several hundred? Uggh. Who programs it? Dealership? I can't just get one thats plug and play huh? Thats a shame. Looks like I will just be using cds for a while. Thats just too much. I found a HMI 2.0 like I have for $200, but I am not willing to spend more than that. Oh well, I love the console anyway. USB media was just a great option to have.
  3. I went back out and now the usb ports in the console stopped working. I may get another HMI. I have a 2014 truck, but I think the console is out of a 2016. Can I just replace my HMI with the same 2.0 with Nav or do you think I need to get a 2.5? I have the blue plug for the antenna on mine.
  4. The only thing is that I had the green short cord for the usb in the glovebox and it was working fine. Could it be the actual usb ports you think? Do you know how difficult it would be to change that out? The HMI could be the culprit, but I just don't see how.
  5. OK, might need a little help here. I followed the diagram and now I am able to use both USB ports in the console, but the front ones have power but will not play anything. Also will not charge the phone. Is there anything else I can try? I would really like it all to work. I am not sure about the charging top as I haven't tried that, but I have an android phone and it says that it only works with Iphones.
  6. I don't use Apple anything so that isn't an issue for me. I am just curious why there are so many USB ports really. Can I have USB stick full of music in each one...plugged in all at once....and filter through them in the stereo? I won't have a chance to finish the wiring up until after Christmas (Thanks to working in retail) otherwise I would just test it.
  7. Thank you for the response, but I am not sure what I am even reading...lol. I found out the green port is for a USB in the glove box. Now I am just looking to see what the black port supports. I do have GPS. I drive a 2014 LTZ also and added the console recently.
  8. I have searched the web and here and came up empty. Can someone tell me which each port on the HMI module does? I know the blue is navigation, but there is also green and black. Does anyone know what those two do? Thanks in advance.
  9. I have power to all the ports, but no media ability in the console. I have the wire going from the green port on the HMI to the input on the USB. The plug I have would not fit in the black port. In the video it seems like the green and black port are just power ports. Do you know which each port does individually? There is a plug in the black port that is no longer in use. Should I use the black port only for the console? Green is only for the glovebox? Thanks Just tried the AUX input and it is working, just not the USB ports. All have power but will not play to radio Also the wireless charging pad does not charge my phone. But that could just be my phone. Not 100% sure about it. Not a need really, I just like everything to work.
  10. These are a pain for sure. Start with the gray one. Use a small flat tip screwdriver on the bottom right side (of your photo) there should be a little tab to press in a pull out at the same time. The do the black one. The black one has the tab on the right side as well.
  11. I put mine in without the harness. I have one power port and the 110v working without it. I am glad I put it in. I love it so much more than the seat. Plus, how many ports are really needed. At this point, as long as I can charge my phone I am happy.
  12. So in my HMI i have a cable in the black port but not the green port. If the black one is going under the seat, do I put the "new" black/gray cable in the port where the old black cable is? I will still have the green port open....not to be used? When I looked at the video...many times... it looked as if I would use both if I had the green one open. So now I am confused as to which goes where.
  13. Thanks Phil. It's not like I will really need another port really. So the ports in the console will work with the radio for a thumb drive or mp3 player? I usually just bluetooth my phone but a thumb drive might be nice too.
  14. While doing this swap, I noticed my glove box doesn't have the USB. I think I would like to add it in while doing this. Does anyone know a part number for the top portion of the glove box with the USB connect in it? I couldn't find it while searching today.
  15. That's awesome. I have already put the console in and only have one power port working until I get the harness back. I already bought the cables needed from the HMI box. I will install all the wiring once I get the harness. I figured I would get the hard part done first and enjoy having the console feature while I wait.
