  1. I think it's narrower and saves weight too, which saves MPG's. Anything for that 1/100 of a MPG. Add that to the other $5k worth of tech, i.e., grill shudders, DFM/AFM, start stop, air dams, etc., etc., and it saves a whole 1 mpg (I don't really know how much it saves, I'm just ranting). I think trucks were the last vehicles to get away from a true "spare tire" and adopt an emergency, temporary-use-only, type tire. All that said, (which amounts to nothing), I don't think many people would want a true spare tire with matching wheel and tire. To properly utilize it would require a 5 wheel/tire rotation. Everyone thinks they're going to do a proper rotation but in reality many don't and the matching spare rarely/never gets used. I see Jeep Wranglers all the time with their matching mud tire and fancy wheel mounted on the back with 0 miles on it, while the 4 on the ground are worn out (all that mall crawling is hard on mudders). 2. Interesting. I use the delayed lock setting on my 2020 Silverado and it locks automatically 5 seconds after all the doors are closed. It doesn't matter how many times I go in or out, open or close the doors, the timer resets and 5 seconds after the last door is closed it locks them all.
  3. Yes, he's lying and because of that I'd be very leery of dealing with him. As stated earlier those are GM fixed running boards (I have the chrome version). That said, if you like that style $300 is a good price. They are a nice & sturdy running board.
  4. My truck hasn't had any problems yet but I have time and in-lb torque wrench. I went out to check mine and all the green indicators were up. Still, I too was able to get at least one full turn before reaching the 53 in-lbs/lbs-in indicated in the TSB (and even that does not feel very tight). Maybe the torque wrench on the assembly line was set below the now recommended 53 in-lbs. I would recommend everyone check this to possibly avoid an issue.
  5. Check to see what driving mode you are in. The different modes will change the responsiveness and feel of the steering.
  6. Yes, the black plastic covered holes are for additional cargo tie downs. A good spray in liner installer will remove the plugs, spray the liner and replace the plugs. A spray in liner should not affect the functionality of your bed, to include those additional tie down holes. The only time they should be sprayed over is if the owner requests it. Otherwise the installer is just lazy or unskilled. No expertise implied or expressed
  7. Take a look at the Extang TuffTonno. It uses a "Peel & Seal" closure. It works like a jeep soft top, using a flexible J channel instead of velcro. No expertise implied or expressed
