One of the primary reasons I bought my 21 Sierra was because it didn’t have the features like that. My Kia has it and I’m up to about 25 near misses due to the “safety” features. If my HD truck slams on the brakes or turns the wheel when I’m not expecting it that could do a lot of damage to someone. I guess that’s the difference though. I pay attention to what’s around me and tell my car what to do accordingly. If you don’t want to have to pay attention to the road in my opinion you shouldn’t have a truck this large.
That’s not how that works. If added it would be lumped into a safety package that would be required for a tech package. Sure you could get a work truck but you would miss out on all the niceties because you don’t want the adaptive cruise.
According to the printing on the windows the following is fact.
Factory fronts 70% VLT
Factory rears 20% VLT
Factory sunroof 18% VLT
I got the following put on the windows
20% fronts
35% rears
70% windshield
Either the 20 or 35 on the sunroof
I ended up with
14% front
7% rears
3.8% sunroof
If I ever have another vehicle with a sunroof I want it darker than this.
If you buy tint from walmart about 6 months. If you get a solid ceramic tint from a professional the life of the truck. For reapplication the removal is the expensive part sometimes costing more than the initial cost depending on the skills of the shop you go to. Low skilled shops are not as efficient at removal so they will charge INSANE prices.
The discounts are not being offered currently because they are looking at the 2022 model years. On the discount website it talks about how in the beginning of model years the discount is not offered so dealers can build stock. I don’t foresee that happening anytime soon.
I just got my Denali and drove it 12 hours straight home yesterday. This is by far the best vehicle seat I have planted my butt in for a road trip. 12 hours with only short stops to empty myself or fill up the truck and I didn’t have any of my usual hip, knee, ankle, or back pain. This truck is a game changer for me.
I think that the important factor here is how the truck will be used. Will it be a grocery getter and family hauler majority of the year with the occasional hardware store trip or 5th wheel tow 5 times a year or will it regularly have a load behind it. I know people that got the diesel because they wanted the power and used it for the occasional tow. They all had major problems with the emissions garbage because the engines weren’t worked hard enough to clear it out. From following forums and the like it seems like as long as your truck is used hard more than light you don’t have problems with diesel emissions. It also seems like the people that bought the gas trucks for the bed and occasional heavy tow are very happy with the gas performance.
I just got the truck and my tint shop said that it was 20%. I told him I want to go to 15% fronts and to make the back and sunroof match and windshield 70%. I will post some pictures near the end of the month when it is all completed.
On a side note does anyone know why my picture flipped upside down. It is upright in my camera roll and when uploaded it flips. I flipped the image and saved it that way tried to upload it and it is still flipped on the website.
